ZINC Holland Center Dining
When we ordered a glass of wine, it was almost 30 minutes before we were informed they
were out of the kind we ordered. So our waitress offered an alternative. Ten minutes later
someone else came by and asked how things were, we said we were still waiting for our
glass of wine. That person went directly and brought our wine. Then the waitress also
returned with wine. When she saw what happened, she said that glass was on her. That was
a good recovery.
When there is a relatively short time from the time of seating to the beginning of the show
there is no excuse for not bringing wine within 5 minutes of ordering it. We had a similar experience last year.
While will give Zinc another chance, if we have a similar experience in the future, we will most likely look for other options for dining before a show. At this point in time, we cannot recommend Zinc to others.
Service very slow. Not our server’s fault. Out of first choice meal had to order second choice. Food good but very slow. Pushed to finish and get to show on time. Hard to enjoy food when worrying about time.
Always wonderful. We come each time we see a show at the Holland.
Cuisine was outstanding ....service good....wine selection good ....
Food was excellent and service as well. Location of course is perfect.
Our dinners were unique and excellent. Our table server was lovely.
Always outstanding food and a great place to eat prior to the symphony concerts.
A nice quiet environment with people dressed for a nite out.
We appreciate the ambiance .
We had heard mixed reviews about Zinc. We were hesitant to try it. Tonight before the “Women Who Rock” we gave it a try. I will tell you that we have eaten all over the country and tonight Zinc was EXCEPTIONAL! The host was friendly, our waitress,JACKIE ,was one of the most attentive servers we have ever had. It was another customer’s birthday, and Jackie, sang Happy Birthday to her..such a magnificent performance that we told Jackie she should be in the show!!!! We were so impressed by tonight’s service that we spoke directly to the manager about Jackie. Keep up the good work!! We will be back and we will ask to be seated in Jackie’s section😀Thank you, M.Hahn
The food was, like always, tasty. The staff and service is always great. I was especially appreciative of the restaurant taking care of special requests.
The food was great, once it finally arrived. Of course, it was probably my fault that it took so long because I ordered roast chicken and chicken takes longer to cook. It was worth the wait. The skin was crispy. The meat was juicy -- even the white breast meat. The vegetables were cooked and seasoned perfectly. My husband had the meat loaf and he really liked it. Our server April was attentive, but did not hover. We were surprised when we got the bill and it was way more than we expected. However, upon review, we found that it was the bill for some other table. ($147 vs. $47) April corrected that error at once and was most apologetic. No harm was done. I just found it to be amusing. There was only one thing that disturbed me. Our table was beneath an air vent and so I got very cold. I would have stayed there to enjoy my coffee, but it was just too cold to sit there any longer. It was a great place to eat before a show. We'll do it again.
It was absolutely perfect. We were going to show on a cold winter day and this way we were early to find close parking and we didn’t have to be in the elements twice. Food was spectacular-some different combinations. We will go back even if we are not going to s show.
April was an excellent server!! Food was perfect - very tasty!
Symphony concert. Always easy and enjoyable before a concert. Nice variety on the menu.
I was disappointed. I have season tickets for the Omaha symphony and attend other events as well so I have eaten here at least 20 times over the last two years. The food is always good, and the service has been OK. This time I was there by myself, a single woman, and the service was at best lackadaisical, at worst negligent. Or perhaps they thought I enjoyed sitting there watching what was left of my dinner congeal in the bowl for 20 minutes. I’ll have to think about it before I decide to go back.
Being located right in the Holland Center, Zinc could easily use its convenience alone to draw patronage and/or gouge its customers. But it doesn’t. The food is excellent, well in line creatively with comparably priced restaurants in town, and the menu includes several attractive options for under $20 (including “Mr. Holland’s meatloaf”). The wait staff is attentive, helpful, and well aware of what time the performance most diners will attend will start. In January and February, pre-performance dining at Zinc is virtually a necessity. For the rest of the year, it’s an option we happily embrace.
Very enjoyable meal and atmosphere to relax before the symphony.
In a very cold night out at the Symphony, Zinc, right there at the Holland, was a perfect place for dinner. It was easy for the six of us to talk, and the food was delicious. The service got us in and out without rush and the right amount of attention. Definitely I plan to return!
Always excellent and so convenient!
This is the 3rd time I have eaten at Zinc before a performance and the food and service has always been very good. Will definitely recommend and go again.
OUTSTANDING..................As Always..............Jackie was a wonderful server.
Enjoyed every part of the experience from arrival to departure.
My favorite aspect of dining at Zinc is the convenience of eating at the same venue where I am attending a show and not having to find parking at 2 different places. Service was outstanding and food was very good. I would like a little larger menu, but I am happy to sacrifice that for the convenience.
It was nice to park once for dinner at Zinc, and then to just walk down the hall to the Holland’s Christmas show. This is a nice venue, and nice, but small, menu. An enjoyable evening, but If you’re looking for a stellar gourmet meal, look further.
Our server was awesome & food was delicious. Will definitely go back again!
Great if you are attending a event at Holland, a nice place to have a meal before the Theater since it’s inside the beautiful Holland Theater
The atmosphere was perfect for a dinner before the show at the Holland. The drink and dinner menu provided enough options to have a very nice and enjoyable dinner. The service was excellent and so were the food choices.
We have tried twice to eat at Zinc and unfortunately both experiences have been disappointing. First time, the service was extremely slow and the food arrived to our table cold. This time, we had what seemed to be an efficient waitress, but obviously she was trying to service too many tables at one time. We ordered cocktails upon our arrival at 6 p.m. and waited 40 minutes for our drinks. (Once arrived, our cocktails were very good). People arrived later than us and received their food promptly. For some reason we waited an hour and 15 minutes for a hamburger that was delicious but we only had ten minutes to eat it before being late to the Rita Moreno show. The delay in service was adjusted on our bill by our very nice and vey apologetic waitress, but we most likely will never eat at Zinc again.
The restaurant is tucked inside the Holland Center, making it really convenient for a pre-performance meal. The surroundings were a little sparse, but the food and service more than made up for the lack of ambiance.
We had the meat loaf medallions and salmon, and both were quite good. Our server was friendly and courteous. I would dine there again when seeing a show.
This time food and service were both great. Thank you.
We chose to eat at Zinc before our Holland event. Food was good, would have appreciated a few more options but otherwise it was a great experience. Can’t beat the convenience.
Most of the food was good, except for this soggy fries.
Went to Zinc on a date with my husband. Beautiful setting, staff was very kind. We were able to communicate without talking over others. The only downside would be the people seated next to us complaining about the table having wheels. Highly recommend. We will definitely go again.
Food was good. Service was excellent. Perfect place to grab dinner bonfire an event at the Holland.
The food was good. They seemed to be under staffed.
Not the friendliest service I've ever had. Good tolerable but overpriced. Don't get the meatloaf....
Excellent choice for pre-show dining at the Holland.
Nicole, our server was delightful!
Food was excellent and service was first rate!
Great service. Food was descent. Good spot for eating before a show.
I eat at Zinc when I am attending an event at the Holland Center. I have always had good service and a fine meal. I was suprised this last time as my waitress remembered me and brought me an ice tea when she came to welcome me and ask for my order.
