Zia Maria Little Italy
My friends and I had an excellent time celebrating my 21st birthday here! The entire team made it an incredible night by taking all our accommodations into consideration. I would 100% dine here again if ever in New York. I can’t thank the team at Zia Maria enough!
It is a lovely spot with great food. Families will love the atmosphere. There is plenty of space for strollers and the staff seems to welcome them.
The food was outstanding and the service was excellent. The prices were reasonable and I would definitely recommend eating at Zia Maria.
Very good food and service. Had a vendor yelling but the restaurant can’t do anything about that. Would recommend.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
The caprese salad was dry and absolutely tasteless. We had to pour our bread dipping oil on it to make it palatable. Main entrees were even worse. “Chicken Parmesan!” announced our server as he placed the dish in front of my husband. When my husband replied that he ordered the veal Parmesan, the server looked at it and said that it was actually veal. Nope, it was chicken and dry and tasteless at that. The branzino was even worse. I always order this fish at Italian restaurants and have always been pleased, never have I had a bad branzino until this place. Over cooked, dry and unseasoned. The only saving grace was that the bottle of wine we ordered was excellent.
To top it off, the bill came and I saw that a gratuity has been added (party of 2 and no, we didn’t complain during our meal, just tried to make the best of it) When the credit card receipt came to the table to sign, the itemized list was missing and there was a line open to enter a tip before totaling and signing. Talk about adding insult to injury. Wow.
Skip this place. There are so many Italian restaurants in Little Italy that will serve you an excellent meal.
Me and my family went here to celebrate Father’s Day for my dad. The food was phenomenal and we all enjoyed everything about Zia Maria. The customer service was great, and they even gave us dessert on them when my brothers pizza took longer to arrive then everyone else’s meal. My second time here and I will be back. A true Italian restaurant for sure!
Our server Peter never disappoints. The food and atmosphere is always amazing and consistent. We love coming here and will be back again soon!
Very tourist-y restaurant. Airport quality food.
We were visiting NYC on college tours with a wide disparity of ages and food preferences among our kids. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious. Even with some live entertainment, the noise level was not too loud. Great end to a long day!
Great food and great service
Waited over 45 min for appetizers, we asked for them and it looks like they simply forgot to bring them out as they were cold
The Manager never said anything to to our table to make us more at ease. He simply said “what do you want me to do”.
Ordered two bottle of $100 wine and never anyone came to apologize. Entrees were also late and came out ice cold.
Our mistake for going to a very tourist spot to eat.
Service was bad. Waiter literally did not come over one time to see if we needed anything the entire meal. He also Never got my drink. Bus boy took my plate that I asked to be wrapped and never brought it back to me. They threw it away. Worst service ever.
The staff was super attentive to us!!!
Had veal piccata. The veal was dry - overcooked and not well prepared. The fettucini was just so so as well. Rissoto mariscos was ok but almost no sauce. Will not return. Saw a 5.0 rating on open table which was the reason we went there. Way overrated!
Apparently a new restaurant on Mulberry Street in Little Italy, Zia Maria has home-made pastas, and plenty of delicious items on the menu. The staff was very friendly, and eager to please. Prices are reasonable, and make this restaurant great for a family to enjoy a fabulous dinner.
Appetizers were outstanding...rice balls and Caprese salad. Chicken Zia Maria was an excellent entre. Don’t skip the Limoncello!!!
