Cafe by day, Bistro by night. Open opposite the Regent Theatre in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. Open for Pre Theatre Dinner 2 hours prior to any show, normally from 5.30pm.

All our food is locally sourced wherever possible, using quality ingredients and freshly prepared or cooked to order.

Our Cafe Menu offers a wide range of the usual cafe fair, but also boasts a good selection of daily seasonal specials available, plus a very good choice of homemade desserts.

The Bistro offers Theatre Diners a fantastic, ever changing, al a carte menu to choose from, with a Pre Theatre offer available. Booking for the Pre Theatre is highly recommended as tables are limited.

There are a few public car parks within 5 to 7 minutes walk of the Bistro. There is one on Pall Mall, opposite the Regent Theatre Stage Door Entrance has has a few disabled spaces, but it does fill up quickly on Theatre Nights. Top tip would be to get there before 5.30pm.

We were going to a show at the Regent Theatre in Stoke and Zest is immediately opposite the theatre. It is a cafe during the day and a bistro in the evening. We had the 2 course menu. Zest is only small but it is nicely furnished. I had crab cakes to start and pork loin for my main. The cafe were very accommodating and gave me a choice of veg to choose from as I did not like the one included with the mail. The food was excellent quality; I really enjoyed my meal and I will definitely go back. It is small so I would recommend booking in advance.

Brilliant all round. Seemed to cater for pre theatre so this made it a brilliant place for booking after 7.30pm as tables free and personal service. Great staff,very welcoming.

A little bistro with 8 tables but the room is deceiving it looks bigger. It is right opposite the Regent Theatre and we were told that we had just missed the rush. We ate at 7:45pm when the theatre show was on. My wife and I were the only people there. We preferred that as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. It provided just the right ambience . The food was excellent and the service very good. It turned out that the female ' waitress ' serving us was one of the owners.after our meal we struck up a conversation for ages. It was good that she gave up her time as the theatre rush would start again when the show finished .also it's worth mentioning the place was immaculately clean , the toilets were spotless which is a good indicator.we would eat there again without hesitation

This was our second visit to Zest and wont be our last. The owners are very friendly and welcoming, the food overall is good and its proximity to the theatre makes it an excellent choice for a pre theatre meal. We found the Valentines offer very good value for money. ( Not that I'm mean or anything ) :)

A very warm welcome on arrival and although the place was full due to pre-theatre time the service was quick and the food was lovely. The portion sizes were huge. The restaurant was very clean aswell, I would recommend it to anyone. Thank you

Excellent food as on previous visits, the pre theatre menu is good value for a quality of food better than you get in most restaurants. The menu is a little different without being fussy or pretentious. I almost never order red meat when I'm out as I'm so fussy , but the pork was beautiful .

Booked after checking out online recommendations. A clean modern and tidy place to eat with both a basic lunch menu plus specials. Good value for money and pleasant attentive staff. Very well placed for Theatre goers and for shoppers.
