Great service, food, and historic location.
Superb ! Simply In a class by itself.
Overall enjoyed my visit. The tasting menu was delicious as were the paired mocktails. I’m actually giving 4.5 stars...with a half star taken away because the drinks piled up and I was confused as to which one actually went with which dish. Basically the delivery of the drinks weren’t in sync with the dishes. Outside of that small snafu, the service was friendly.
Amazing!!! Will return everything was perfect. A little pricey, but no complaints. $515.00 for two people.
Awesome! Can’t wait to return!
Special New Years Eve dinner with set menu and wine pairing. The meal was very tasty and up to past experiences we have had here. The only disappointment was the wine service. The timing was early before the dish was presented and very light (sub 4 oz.) for each course except for the Champagne when we were first seated.
We went to Zero for their New Year's Eve celebration and had a wonderful time. I can't say enough good things about the service.....it's really really good!! The tasting menu was delicious and included a caviar course.
We attended a special tasting menu at Zero George for New Years Eve. The service and presentation were as always perfection. The snacks, oyster, pasta and dessert were exceptional - typical of our experiences at this restaurant. The main course was a small portion of aged ribeye and it had a lot of inedible fat and the accompanying potato cake had little flavor and was overcooked on the bottom. The lobster was not a family favorite either. We love Zero George food, service and presentation typically. This meal was very expensive and not our favorite of the foods or experiences that we have had there. We will just do the regular dinners here in the future.
This is high level dining. Serious food and service. .....staff is real if you can be!!;)
Being local to the Charleston area and coming from the NY downstate and the Hamptons.... this resturant is amazing on all levels. Second visit review: staff front and center to greet..(agree with reciews) vetter singage as you enter courtyard is a must). Tasting menu ecceed expectations( recommded for foddies)... price and value are high this is an experience not a quick bite. We lingered for 2 hours to savor and enjoy the wine pairings.
Superb food! One of the best in Charleston.
Absolutely wonderful in all dimensions - plating, presentation, and palate!! It was an elevated experience. Will come again.
Fabulous food and the waitstaff were terrific! The tasting menu was really outstanding. The bar is cozy but a tad small, however the dinner was one of the best in Charleston, and that is a high bar in this city!
Best meal ever!
We were offered only a five course pre fixe meal. All the dishes were outstanding. The chef was flexible with my vegetarian diet and the service was aware of our Theater time at the Galliard. My only regret is that we were not told about the three course menu which would have been perfect for our appetite and time limitation. I could not finish the last two courses. We opted out of the wine pairing which I would like to try next time.
Fabulous evening at Zero - the service and food were both outstanding!
My friends and I had dinner here before a concert at the Gaillard Center. The food was AMAZING. At first we thought we weren't going to be full at the end of the meal but by the time we were finished, we were pleasantly stuffed.
The price is high and we did not know to expect that. That being said it was truly an amazing experience but one we probably can't afford to do but once a year.
I would STILL HIGHLY recommend this place for a unique, fine dining experience. The food pleased all our palates to say the least! Kudos to the Chef!!!
The chef's menu proved one of the most smart, brave meals I have ever eaten... inventive and brilliantly executed. The whole staff is dedicated to ensuring the best possible experience.
Excellent food and wonderful atmosphere to our wedding anniversary
Never disappoints! The food is always superb and the staff smiling and happy!
Wonderful creatively prepared chef’s tasting menu 5 course meal with wine pairings. It was our 20th anniversary and we will remember the meal for a long time, it was that good. The staff were very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly but not overly so. Despite the price, the service and presentation were not pretentious at all.
Our server was phenomenal! The food was among the best I’ve had recently. If Michelin covered Charleston, Zero would enter with two stars all day long.
Food, service and ambiance is fantastic. If you have any dietary things make sure to call ahead and everyone at the table needs to eat the same menu.
Special date night was perfect. Cocktails amazing and food as well. Accommodated our special dietary needs was nice. Excellent service too.
I enjoyed the tasting menu at Zero George this November almost as much as I had a year earlier. The appetizers, however, were the same ones I had enjoyed in November of 2017. as a foodie, I would have liked to try something different.
The service was amazing. The servers where so knowledgeable about the food and wine. The food was also outstanding. The seasonal menu was amazing and it really expanded my palette on what I thought could be flavorful. This is a great place to go for a special occasion
Unique, different to say the least. But what cannot be lost is how creative this place is. Remarkable !
We did the prix fixe menu w pairings and was amazed.
The wine and dishes came out and the service was impeccable. This is a must stop for foodies .... just enjoy
Excellent food, wine, atmosphere and service. We were delighted with our meals and with the friendly and helpful staff. The old building has been beautifully preserved and the atmosphere it created was a true delight.
Dining at Zero George was an interesting experience! Finding the entrance was a bit of a challenge. We were wandering around the courtyard when an employee saw us through the window and waved us into what appeared to be the kitchen. We were then greeted very warmly and enthusiastically by all the staff. We had mixed feelings about the food. We chose the 3 course Gaillard pre-theater option. Our first course, the Liquid Center Parmesan Tortellini was absolutely delicious even though it was served unexpectedly lukewarm. Second course, Beef Wellington, also arrived lukewarm and while the beef was beautifully cooked and tender, the seasoning was lacking and the dish was bland, causing us to feel it wasn't worth the $15 supplement. Third course, Tres Leches, was overcomplicated by the addition of coconut, honeycomb and various other blandishments which to our taste detracted from the deliciousness of traditional tres leches we were looking forward to. Overall, we found Zero George to be overpriced and the food to be underwhelming.
Having wanting to experience Zero George since our last visit to Charleston, we were so excited to obtain a reservation for a birthday celebration. Having arrived a bit early, we were greeting and checked in by a friendly and welcoming staff. They invited us to have a cocktail at the bar and were delighted with the mixologist who would take requests off menu. It was apparent that he was passionate about his creations and we loved watching him create.
The anticipation high and it was finally time to sit for dinner. Each course was not only absolutely delicious it was creatively presented and we walked out of Zero George dreaming about the next time we get to dine here...
Wow. What a culinary experience. Service and Cef were wonderful. Very expensive, but worth every cent for this set price tasting menu
Wonderful setting and outstanding food! Love this restaurant!
All around excellent and interesting food as well as presentation.
Was a wonderful, intimate
Ate at Zero Restaurant while staying at the hotel and am so glad I did. This is no ordinary hotel restaurant...Charleston should feel lucky to have Chef Vinson Petrillo.
We celebrated our anniversary at Zero Restaurant. This was our second time dining there and it was even more enjoyable than the first (which was going to be hard to do). We were seated in a smaller room on the second floor which was very pleasant and romantic. Our server was very attentive and coursed the meal out nicely. The shellfish trio was fantastic and the rib-eye was melt in your mouth delicious. The start of the meal, surprisingly, was the tres leches dessert. We were both blown away with this dish and it was such a wonderful finish to a very special meal.
Perfect in every way. It was so nice to have an evening with friends in a restaurant with fabulous food, an environment that invited conversation, relaxing and wonderful attentive service.
Based on the description of the restaurant I read on the internet, we made reservations. Our dinner was a chef's tasting menu. The courses were inventive and interesting. Our first course included a "potted plant," which was actually baby radishes buried in a soft dip and covered with "dirt." You pulled the radish out of the dirt and enjoyed it covered in the dip. We enjoyed every course and the interesting sides. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant if you are a foodie. If you are a "meat and potatoes" person, you might not appreciate the exotic ingredients. But we absolutely loved it. Our waitress was delightful and added to our enjoyment. P.S. The premium wine pairing is worth every penny. The wines were superb.
