Nice restaurant for a quiet dinner. Great service and food is good.
Waiting room smelled like fish, food was mediocre at best. Service was very good, but food definitely was not worth the money.
This place was fabulous. The energy and ambiance were impressive. What I like most was the closed in booths for privacy. Definitely a must visit place in Williamsburg.
My wife and i have been dining at Zenkichi for a long time and I have left many positive reviews in the past. Unfortunately this past visit turned out to be disappointing. This time we decided to try their special Valentines Day Omakase which was $125. Their normal Winter omakase was $75. The number of courses, 8, was the same for both. Most of the courses turned out to be good. But the portions were very small for every course. The worst part was that we felt cheated when the dessert course turned out to be a piece of chocolate truffle the size of a finger tip and another firger size jelly like candy next to it. We were pretty sure the real desert course is yet to come. It never did. It is like calling the amuse bouche a course in a nice French restaurant. We ordered 3 glasses of sake each. But the sake portions were very tiny, half full, small glasses. So we both felt cheated paying a tab of $375 for dinner. This is not the Zenkichi we used to love.
My husband and I have been celebrating his birthday at Zenkichi for the past couple of years. The food is always delicious, and the ambiance is very romantic. This year, they gave us a little dessert plate to celebrate his birthday, and it was a very nice touch.
Everything about Zenkichi makes for a most memorable evening -- the private booths, the polite discrete staff, the incredibly beautiful AND delicious food... get the seasonal omakase! (For an extra special -- though $ -- night out, get the sake pairing!)
Impecable service. Fantastic food.
This was our first authentic Japanese restaurant I was happy to see vegan course offered paired with sake. The overall experience was nice and would recommend friends.
Absolutely recommend this place for special date night
Came here for an anniversary. Overall, was very nice! Food was delicious and service was wonderful. I thought it would have been more intimate, but we were surrounded by other couples who were talking loudly. Prices are a little high, but we did the A La Carte instead of the pre-fix which we liked because we got to choose our actual dishes.
Very cool New York restaurant with an great atmosphere. Private booths and excellent service. Great date spot.
The omakase dinner was good. It was I believe 8 courses and worth the money and the trek out to brooklyn. The most memorable was the uni which was an addition to the omakase. Went there to celebrate wife's birthday. The description of the restaurant being romantic is not right. It is just a typical Japanese restaurant decor that you would find in Japan.
I have been to this restaurant many times. The food is high quality and the service is excellent.
Great place for a date
The best Japanese in Brooklyn
