Warning to anybody with food allergies. After informing the staff about allergies when ordering, it took multiple conversations to convince them (to the point where we were actually asked if it was a legitimate allergy), where it seemed more important to try to upsell the brunch pricing over somebody's health.

Server over charged us multiple times, we got tired of going back and forth and ended up paying for more than we ate.

The good was great and we got reservations. The place is huge and nicely done up. The service was slow but the experience was good overall. I will go there again.

I'll just begin with I never ever leave reviews, but this was so bad that I feel compelled to speak up:

It took 10 minutes before we saw our waiter.

For 15$ drinks, you would expect them to be good, but they were terribly watered down. The food was just OK, and there was a 20 minute gap between appetizers and our main entrees. Then it took 25 minutes to get our check.

Meanwhile we saw our waiter being attentive to other larger tables so we clearly realized he was prioritizing where he could make a better tip.

$146 for meager service, food and drinks for two people? What a joke! Too many great restaurants in NYC to waste your time and money here- next!

Sunday Funday brunch before leaving NYC...WOW. What a disappointment! We should have turned around when we noticed the filthy entry way rug (it was right at opening hour, so it most certainly wasn't due to high traffic that day) and windows upon entering. We were seated at a booth that overlooked the restaurant and given a menu, our drink orders were taken and then the waitress was MIA for about 15 minutes; we questioned a bus boy as to why others were ordering and getting food...then our waitress came over and explained we weren't supposed to order, they just "bring everything out in courses". So, we waited about 15 more minutes and received our first course of the MOST awful excuse for food in NYC. It was as if Sysco foods had just delivered and they served up everything right out of the freezer! I will give them props for presentation...HOWEVER, the dumplings were cold, the chicken in the empanadas tasted so bad that I spit it out, and the salad they served appeared to be bagged salad with ginger dressing on it. The pork on top of their corn cake was ice cold--like it came out of a container in the refrigerator! The cocktails were just as bad. Two courses in, we asked for our check...worst $45 ever spent. EVER. There are simply too many fabulous choices in NYC to eat bad food-hot dog vendors care more about their food than this place! Take your money and go spend it on two cocktails and some deviled eggs at the Spotted Pig in the village. You'll be glad you spent way more money on two craft cocktails and some eggs.

I had been to the first location in Denver and we so excited when i saw Zengo was in NYC!! Brought some friends for the bottomless brunch and we all agreed the $45 was totally worth it. Unlimited drinks and tapas?? Who can say no to that! My only complaint was we were never brought the desserts, our waitress told us they were on their way but an hour later still no dessert and she avoided coming back near our table.

Food is consistently delicious. Definitely on the pricier side but always tasty. Loved the Angry Zengo and Volcano sushi rolls.

Although the food was terrific, the service was unprofessional. Orders were mixed up. Main dishes for the table arrived at different times. Waiter had to be reminded several times to bring items that were asked for. We had to ask for coffee and tea service; they were not offered. The wait staff did not seem to care as if they were doing us a favor. A disappointing experience.

We came for Zengo's bottomless brunch and endless small plates special. What a deal this was. Almost 2 dozen dishes to choose from and bottomless mimosas, sangria, margarita and bloody marys. You have two hours to eat and drink but we were well stuffed before our time was up.

We had 6 people total and tried everything. Staff were wonderful and kept up with us.

Met some friends on a Monday night for drinks & dinner. Turned out to be a good choice as not very crowded, so didn't have to shout. Wine was good, We ordered a variety of apps and mains to share -everything was good. Would go back. I know the downstairs bar can get noisy and crowded or a Thursday/Friday -which is fine if that is what u want.

2nd time I've been here, both times my food was wonderful. My gf said her Japanese meatball appetizer should have been juicier. Zengo has a gluten free menu which does not have as many choices as the regular menu but it has enough. The price of the gluten free dishes are the same as the regular dishes, some restaurants charge more for gluten free. It is a big restaurant with soaring ceilings. The seating is very comfortable and it is moderately noisy. The prices are about the same as most other midtown restaurants. I wish it were less expensive so I could come here more often!

We went for a friend's birthday dinner on a Saturday evening & it was disappointing. The menu options for the entrees seemed limited, the vegetarian fried rice that I ordered was terrible- it was bitter & overcooked. The service was particularly bad, we waited 1 hour after ordering our appetizers to receive them. The restaurant only had a few other patrons besides our table of 11, so there should not have been such a long wait for food. The servers appeared to be very confused as it took about 4 of them to serve our table. The only positive was that at least the terrible food was not overpriced!

Great food and fun spot for an unlimited boozy brunch with friends. Drinks aren't quite as good as their sister restaurant Maya (they seemed a bit watery) and they forgot a few dishes we ordered but there was so much food and what did come was great that we didn't bother reminding them. Would definitely come back!

we went on monday for lunch. they were out of fish for the specials which should have been a warning. the sushi rolls were passable but the tuna and salmon filling was very fishy and the fishy taste remained with us. the tuna was a dark brown which we hoped was soya sauce. the lettuce wraps was fatty with the very small shrimp that could have come from a can. the star of the meal was the black cod for $37 otherwise we would have given them zero stars. we certainly would not recommend Zengo for Monday lunch. hopefully they improve quality at other times or they will eventually vanish.

Wide selection of interesting and delicious pan-asian foods. Tapas style which was perfect for our group of five with vegetarian, seafood, chicken and beef preferences. Unusually large for NYC, the ambiance was relaxed and the noise level was perfect - just enough to feel energetic while we could still hear each other without screaming. We'll be back!

We went with a big group for bottomless brunch on a Saturday! Great deal. Drinks were free flowing and pretty good, many choices. Food was great too, pretty good variety. High points were the chicken empanadas, pulled pork arepas, lobster grits (although there were no chunks of lobster, probably just lobster stock) the sliders and the sushi. Least favorite was the Peking duck buns.

The service was not engaging or patient. How can they have people like this waiting tables? The tables are nasty and beat up. This is the kind of place that's all about a profit. Not even TGI Fridays would allow tables and seats in this condition. The menu is very hit or miss. There are too many options in NYC to give your money to a place with management that simply does not care about the customer experience.

Dinner was delicious. The beverage manager who was acting as Maitre d was especially helpful and attentive -- cautioned us not to order too much, checked when food came slowly, and then took off the charge for one dish because we had to wait-- which we hadn't minded at all. All together a wonderful evening.

I planned this brunch for my girlfriend's birthday. We got our table quickly as it wasn't packed. Hostess and bust boys were very nice. However, our waitress was a bit off. She didn't explain the menu well and was kind of insistent on the way she will bring out the order of food. The whole experience would have been exceptional if she didn't give us the bad vibe. Everything else was good.
