Even though we had a reservation we were seated >30 minutes after our reservation time. The waitress seemed nice but also stressed. It felt as though she was trying her best but has a lot on her plate (no pun intended). She would bring a tray filled with drinks and then disappear for the next 15 minutes, which made ordering food difficult. If a friend really wanted to try out this place I would go, but I would not recommend it to others without caution. It felt as if we were begging for service and I don’t believe the price of their brunch is worth that.
Food was bad
I live around the corner from Zengo and therefore I pass it all the time, but I had never been there for food. This past Friday night, my roommate and I were looking for a local dinner place and after looking at the menu we figured we would give it a go. We walked out of there feeling like we found our new neighborhood spot.
As soon as we walked in, we were both blown away - Good music, tons of smiling faces, and the dishes we saw on the way to our table looked delicious. The seats were comfy and the table was clean. The cocktail menu was extensive and also was on a cool leather design, and the food menu was also perfect for the kinds of dishes we were looking for.
I ordered an old fashioned off the cocktail list and it was perfect. For food, we ended up splitting a bunch of dishes- We ordered chicken lettuce cups, a sushi roll, fried rice, and tuna tacos and everything was perfect and extremely reasonable.
I definitely plan on visiting again soon... tried to visit this Sunday for their bottomless brunch special but unfortunately they were completely booked!
Great ecclectic food menu.. drinks were really good and they have a really nice bar/lounge downstairs. Took my wife ot for her birthday and we loved the food.
I took my daughters, who are both college students, for NYC restaurant week and we ended up ordering off the regular menu. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was friendly and helpful.
The food portions we're small but tasty and filling. Drinks were expensive but potent. Loved the decor and service was friendly.
Our party was for 15 people and I think the restaurant could not handle so many people at one time, as half of the food was either burnt or very cold. Appetizers were perfect though!
