An excellent dinner, hard to find specials on the sushi, and an interesting selection of sakes and Japanese whiskies. The service was excellent , the sake clams divine, uni very rich and delicious, suzuki very tasty, maguro melted in the mouth, the ginger vegetable dish we had was nicely done. we will be back and recommend heartily.
Had a great dinner!!! Food and service was outstanding.
Special Fish selections from Toyosu Market.
Suzuki, Chidai, Aji ( And Yes They will fry the bones for you) 😌 Hire me, Uni, and Ankimo. The Chef is VERY accomodating and efficeint.
Wow such delicious food! The Menu selection here is Awesome💖#funtimes #greatsushi #hamachi #aji #horsemackerel #Shimaaji #anago
Best sushi in Lexington - always extremely fresh and excellent variety of fish! If you’re looking for something other than Tuna, Salmon and Yellowtail, this is the place to go!
Excellent food. Glad to have unique fishes (flown in from Japan!) and talented chefs to prepare them. I'll definitely be back.
The food was beyond amazing, I love sushi, but you guys made me love it a million times more with your rolls!! If I lived in Lexington this would definitely be a weekly thing! Thanks so much for being amazing!!!!
The best Asian food in town. The food and the sake are excellent! Service is outstanding!
Good food !
The sushi here is amazing. Love the tsukiji fish market options too! Not sure of our waiters name but he was a taller, skinny gentlemen. He has an amazing attitude and is very good at his job. Very personable. We’ll definitely keep coming back just based off of his service alone!
Great restaurant. Super food. Great service. Awesome waitress.
It was a great experience. Food was awesome!
Awesome sashimi very delicious
Very friendly and attentive staff. Great food flown in from Japan weekly. They have several menu options that I haven't seen anywhere else locally. One of the top few Japanese restaurants in town up there with Tachibana. Would definitely return and highly recommend.
This one will be short. This is now my "Go To" sushi place. They are getting in fish from Japan other than the standard fair that you can get at every place in town. They will also deep fry the Horse Mackrel body for you upon request. That is if they have any left. The entire fish is edible from head to tail!!! So crispy and delicious. They also offer fresh grated real wasabi. They are the only place in town that I know to do this. They also have a decent selection of Sake, Shochu and beer. These are perfect to pair with the delicate flavors of the foods. The menu has choices for novice and experienced Japanese food lovers.
Zen is the best! Food is so fresh and delicious. And the staff is friendly and accommodating. We love Adam!
Zen's sushi is amazing as always. Zen, in my opinion, is the only restaurant in the state of Kentucky that serves sushi that is as delicious as it is artistic in presentation.
Wonderful!! By far one of the most authentic places in Kentucky!
The strip mall location belies the extraordinary quality of the sushi, much of which is imported from Japan. Creative menu options. I go frequently and am never, ever disappointed. We
Wonderful evening at Zen. Great food and service (as always) and able to enjoy the game too!
Nobody has better sushi. We tried the Curry Shrimp Udon got the first time, and it was fabulous. Thanks!
It was surprisingly nice. I didn’t expect much from a strip mall sushi joint. The service was excellent from phone call through the goodbye.
Awesome service and food! The best sushi etc around by FAR!
The food was amazing! Great culinary experience!!
We were greeted upon entering by a very polite and upbeat young woman who seated us immediately. After about 5 minutes our server came. He was very knowledgeable and attentive. The food was very well prepared and delicious. We’ve had just as good for less but we were not disappointed with our experience.
Food was delicious and service was excellent but the restaurant was overly warm.
We arrived within two minutes of our reservation of 7pm on June 29. At least two tables of patrons arrived after we did and their tables were served multiple dishes (hot and cold) while we waited for more than 30 minutes for 12 pieces of sashimi (in one order). We asked the wait staff, who got the order wrong in the first place, and then showed attitude when we asked where our order is after waiting for more than 30 minutes. We paid for our beers, cancelled the meal orders, and received a check and more attitude. What adds to the insult is that about 30 minutes after we had left the restaurant, someone at the restaurant cancelled our Opentable reservation as of nothing happened. Erasing the record does not erase the bad experience!
This is the best sushi in Lexington. The staff and owner are incredibly welcoming. The menu is full of both traditional and unique options.
Excellent sushi. The udon curry with lamb was to die for! Sushi was pricey but delicious. Some unusual fish flown in fresh. Good house sake. Unusual roll combos. Was here from out of town and this place rivals any big city. Great find.
Love the food. A little on the expensive side but great quality and chef specials. Lighting could be better for ambiance.
The quality and presentation of the food was excellent! We were visiting for university tour and found relatively close. We eat a lot of sushi and this ranks right up there! The ginger dressing is probably the best we have ever had. Make sure you buy some to go. We did! Fantastic and will revisit next time in Lexington. Please come to Nashville!
Awesome server who knew EVERYTHING about Sushi AND Sake! She was so informative and helpful as we made decisions on different sushi selections. She even created a Sake sampler for us to learn about the different types. Overall an outstanding dinner experience!!!
Excellent Sushi..probably some of the Freshest Suhi in Lexington
Sushi was very good and creative. Ramen noodles were over cooked and mushy, and there was not enough broth
The sake menu is nice. The sashimi is very good, but not over the top in my opinion. The nigiri is quite good though bordering on fancy (where fancy/trendy is not needed). Service is lackluster. Having eaten at many similar places around the US, I think the pricing is on high side (especially for Lexington).
The Beaumont roll was to die for; almost worth the 1.5 hour wait from order to table
It was an enjoyable time. We were seated pretty quickly. Our server was attentive. Food took a longer time than i would’ve liked, but we did order the scallop, which does have a longer prep time. Food portions were less than ideal.
The best sashimi and excellent service! Owners are so welcoming. The special Japanese “hotpot” has salmon, mussels, cabbage, tofu in miso soup and was delicious! I would highly recommend trying the weekly special menu. What a gem in the neighborhood!
Awesome food and ambiance! Best sushi and that is saying a lot considering I lived in San Francisco for 8 years.
I’ve enjoyed Zen every time. Great selection of sake, great sushi chef, knowledgeable staff, great service. Recommend letting the chef choose for you.
Great food, great deals, wonderful service. Especially loved the sushi rolls and appetizers.
Good food. Very nice staff, accommodating. They go out of their way to make sure your meal is a great experience
