We had the chef’s experience. Just fantastic- and they easily accommodated one guest’s Celiac without us ever feeling like we weren’t getting their best.
We enjoyed the variety of options. The Turkish sangria was a treat! The tomato soup was delicious with hints of cinnamon and paired nicely with the Peynirli Pide. The Bronzino was just okay but the oysters were tasty. The red lentil patties were quite nice. We finished off the meal with Turkish coffee which is clearly an acquired taste. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu options. The space is nicely appointed and we sat downstairs by the fireplace. Next visit we will try to sit upstairs to take in more of the view.
Service was cold and a note on the lunch reservation about celebrating a 30th birthday was completely ignored/overlooked. Disappointing way to celebrate such a big milestone.
So hard to get a reservation, but finally did and as usual the yummiest place! Fast service and food Is just spectacular. If you have never been you should really try it!
We were seated quickly at a very nice table near the window on a Thursday night. It was difficult to hear talking at a normal conversational level, but we didn’t have to yell loudly to be heard. The food was good and the bread came out quickly and was warm, fluffy and plentiful. The only downside was the service. It was slow- long, long waits with empty water glasses( seems even longer when you are thirsty). Small suggestion: consider leaving a carafe of water on the table when the restaurant is busy. The salad, fries and cauliflower dishes came out 25+minutes after ordering. The Mediterranean fries were hot but the cauliflower was barely warm when we received it. It was another 15 minutes before the other plates (chicken and lamb) were brought. On the whole the ambiance was great, and the food was flavorful. I enjoyed my visit, despite being annoyed at the level of service, and would try it again.
I took my cousin. we had a very nice lunch with time to catch up over great food.
Good, patient service (my dining date was late); very good lunch choices at reasonable (for Washington) prices. Small thing: I ordered ginger ale and it was the real deal, quite fresh.
Had two tasting menus ; was too much food for two us at 15 courses but we ate it all and was fantastic
food is way too salty. Tried the chef tasting menu wasn’t impressed at all!
Always love Zaytinya! We had an awesome server and the food was delicious. It's so bright and spacious in the restaurant. Will definitely be back!
Good Mediterranean mezze-style meal and great service.
Serve was exceptional bad however once Management became aware of the situation they when out of there way to successful Rectify the situation. Things go wrong all the time it how you recover that really counts and the food was good.
I will definitely go back and recommend this restaurant.
They are phenomenal. Food was great, affordable, staff was excellent and they even stored my luggage for me! 10/10.
One of my favorites!!
Our third visit in a few years while traveling to Washington... consistently flavorful , well executed dishes , very good service and great ambience He cocktails well made and refreshing
Visited for a birthday dinner. They were able to accommodate a party of 10 at a large round table. We all ordered the chef special which was amazing. It includes a substantial sampling of the menu and everyone left satisfied.
Outstanding on all levels. I was so happy to have picked a restaurant that we had never been to, but have always wanted to go to. The server, Hussein, did a great job pairing the wine with the tapas and making wonderful suggestions (I’m allergic to nightshades). Having family in from out of town was extra special and they loved it as much as we did. It is definitely our new favorite restaurant in DC!
Very good but small portions with limited wine list and uninspired beer menu
This my second visit and I was not disappointed even given my high expectations. They readily complied with my vegan diet and my meal was amazing. My only minor complaint is about the noise level which was quite high.
Food was great. Waiter was awful. He was obviously trying to rush us out.
The food is always very good and the service was excellent. When someone dishes obviously came too quickly, we sent them back.
My wife and I were on a double date with some friends. We are vegan and the waiter was very knowledgeable about options for us. He made wonderful suggestions that we enjoyed and found ourselves craving the next day. The atmosphere was a good balance of relaxed and elegant. Just right for date night.
An all around exceptional evening. Our server was attentive, caring and knowledgeable giving us adequate time to enjoy each dish. Our delightful cocktail, 3PM to Isatanbul started the evening with their complimentary take on an airy naan. Who could imagine that hummus could be taken to another level, but it was . The Baba Ghannouge was smokey and wonderful as were the crispy Brussel Sprouts. The Octopus Santorini with Split Pea Puree was our favorite. Pork Belly Souvlaki was balanced nicely with the Greek yogurt and delicious. Our server chose a lovely and well priced bottle of wine based on the characteristics we enjoy. Our evening was completed with Turkish Coffee and Turkish Coffee Chocolate Cake and we could not have been happier. We will be visiting Zaytinya frequently. Thank you for a lovely evening.
The wait staff did an excellent job tending to our needs. The food was delicious the small plates allowed us to enjoy several items from the menu. The lamb shank was tender and robust with flavor. The bread was light and delightful. I would certainly recommend Zaytinya to my friends.
Everything was delicious and honestly it was hard to narrow down options from the menu. Shish tawook, seafood mezze, lamb chop, all delicious. Service was exceptional and knowledgeable and friendly.
Enjoyed the mezze lunch option - got 3 small plates and a dessert for $25, felt full afterwards but not too stuffed.
Service - stellar (TY, Jessica!)
Every morsel was cooked to perfection and absolutely luscious. Wonderful time today.
Excellent as always. Great food, great service. Great for sharing plates and trying lots of different dishes. Kabab platter was delicious and plenty for 2-3 people.
Enjoyed our dinner at Zaytinya. It is a very popular place, so be prepared for a wait and for a lot of noise. This is not the place to go for intimate conversation. Our reservation was at 8:00 p.m. and we were not seated until close to 8:30. The manager graciously sent over some delicious, lemony, humus as a thanks for the inconvenience. The chicken soup also featured lemon and combined the comfort food aspect of chicken soup with a unique ethnic flavor. Ordered the beef and lamb meatballs and they were so good that we asked for a second order. Everything is served tapas style, small plates, so you can sample and share. The meatballs were enhanced by a side of saffron rice. I would not order the lamb chops again. For $20 I would not expect a huge order, but there were two, infinitesimal chops that were mostly fat. Nice atmosphere and young crowd.
I love lively restaurants. But Zaytinya was unbearably noisy. Customers should bring earplugs.
Very good food and excellent service. Will go again.
Had a reservation and didn’t get seated for an additional 20 minutes. We sat at the bar.
We came 25 minutes early yet were not seated for 45 minutes - way past the time of our reservation. In addition, the greeters could be much more professional and pleasant.
As always, great Mediterranean cuisine prepared outstandingly. Thoroughly enjoyed food from every course from appetizers to dessert. Service was excellent, as usual. Keep up the great work!
Great service, great menu, very tasty dishes with complex flavors. It got a fairly noisy when the restaurant was full, but our party of five was able to carry on group conversations.
Our server was fantastic! He was very attentive and sensitive to my allergy issues. He made our evening so enjoyable. A true treasure!
Food is excellent. I sat at the bar and had excellent service.
Great for folks with allergies! Excellent personal attention. And great food!
