Another Jose Andres spot with solid tapas. Head to Zaytinya for a power lunch that doesn’t feel like a power lunch.
Great meal! Everything we had was very tasty!
Excellent food and service. Exceptional dining experience
The food is truly outstanding. One bit of advice to those that will be dining there. Do not give the wait staff all of your food selections when first ordering or you will receive your food all at the same time. Order a couple of dishes then, when you are through with those and have had a bit of time to talk and digest the food, order a couple more. The restaurant obviously is invested in increasing their turn rate so it’s your responsibility to slow it down so you can maximize your dining experience.
The food was fresh and delicious.
Outstanding food, except for octopus, which was a bit ordinary.
Great puffy bread.
Service was very slow, we started receiving our mezze after the table next to us who were seated about 20-30 min after us. Server was very big on talking about how popular the restaurant was, which raises expectations but they did not deliver. Have definitely had better Mediterranean food in DC.
Very rude waitress, super slow service. The food is OK (below average of other Turkish/Mediterranean restaurants ), too pricey for the quality/quantity.
FANTASTIC in every possible way! Pricey, but totally worth it, especially if you love tapas!
We were not seated until 30 minutes after our reservation.
Jose Andras scores nothing but Hits and Zaytinya is great example. We had the Chef's tasting menu, and it was spectacular. The waiter and chef were Very Accommodating, and the food was really out this world. Exceeded our expectations, and they were high based prior experiences at other Jose A restaurants. Fantastic.
We happened to be a larger group all visiting town. This restaurant has both incredible ambience as well as tasty dishes. We were all pretty satisfied with sizeable portions as far as tapas goes and the bill amount. We had many plates and each had a drink w dinner. I would definitely return here and recommend it to anyone who wants a fun night out and some good people watching. .
First of all, the food here is very good. Interesting dishes and lots of options. The tapa style is great for sharing and the pitas were flowing. The timing of the dishes coming out was well paced too, since the table was small in size, we didn’t run out of space. Our server was really friendly and gave good advice. It was a busy night as there was a private party happening so it was a little crowded in the front with wait staff going in and out the front door with food for the patio people and people trying to get seated. We weren’t kept waiting which is great as it was so busy. The seating inside was a bit crowded. We were in a middle aisle and my seat kept getting hit by everyone passing by. The staff was great at clearing plates but often enough, hands would show up by my face grabbing dishes without saying pardon my reach. For a nice restaurant, I also wish you would dress up the restrooms a bit as well. Looking a bit utilitarian and worn out.
Busy but great spot for an early pre-theater dinner. Attentive staff make all the little plates fit even on a small two-top.
Delicious as always!!
excellent!!!!! great food ,great attention , the food was delicious , the presentation superb and the personel fantastic
Great choices for vegans who also must eat gluten free. Loved the giant beans with broth, perfect hummus, lovely salads, and delicious sauteed mushrooms with dates...almost dessert!
Great food, reasonable prices. Had a very beautiful atmosphere. Great for a date night.
Average food excellent service but a lot of people speaking high
I loved every dish we tried. Mediterranean cuisine done in small plates manner. You can get everything from hummus to goat stew. Everything tastes great!!! The food has just the right amount of spice. We had to wait a little but it was worth it. They gave us 2 appetizer plates free to thank us for waiting. Spoiler alert... baklava is not one of their desserts.
Excellent food/ varied and interesting menu-
Had to wait for a VERY long time to be seated/unprofessional service - clearing table throughout the meal instead of waiting for everyone to finish/ felt rushed from beginning to end...and the noise level was terrible and not conducive to a fine dining experience. It’s a shame because it’s definitely one of the best Greek restaurants we’ve ever been to in the US.
The best food in Washington D.C.
Everything we ordered was amazing.
Amazing food and great service.
Delicious meal as always, the lunch plan was delicious!
We had a great time, and the food was delicious!
I have a new team member who is vegan. I wanted to find a place that he would enjoy, but I would also enjoy because I’m not vegan. This was the spot and we both enjoyed a great lunch and conversation.
Awesome food and service. We did the Chef’s experience. I highly recommend it!
Everything was wonderful, the food all delicious-Brussels sprouts, meatballs, branzino small plates that we shared. Service was good and pretty restaurant. Some parts very loud but our table not too loud. Enjoyed and will be back!
I had a terrible experience at Zatinya. I had booked a table and brought two of my non-governmental organisation's funders for a social meal. I had a reservation for 7:15 pm and when I arrived the Maitre de said that we should wait for 10 minutes at the bar. She said she could not come to find us when the table was available so I should come back to check with her. I went back and she said to wait for another 10 minutes. After 30 minutes, I was frustrated and embarrassed. She offered to seat us outside and that she would invite us inside once the indoor table was available and offered us a round of drinks. We sat outside for another 30 minutes and were getting quite cold. When I went back inside she said that she'd given our table away because we were outside. I had to ask for the Manager to intervene who kindly found us a table inside within 5 minutes and was quite apologetic. The Maitre de was consistently unhelpful, uncaring and unprofessional. Once we were inside, we enjoyed the food but the noise levels were quite high. I would definitely not recommend this restaurant to a friend or colleague.
This is the second time I've been at this restaurant, my first experience was much better all around but still lovely the second time!
I've had the extreme pleasure of dining at Zaytinya 3 times. Every meal has been a fabulous experience. I am of Lebanese heritage and have found the food to be deliciously authentic!
AWSOME! My friend have never been there so we drove two hours from Richmond, Va to have lunch!
As always, excellent!!!
Zaytinya has been a long-time favorite restaurant of ours, and we were happy to go on a long overdue lunch date. We arrived 30 minutes prior to our reservation, and they took us early, which was nice. We ordered some of our favorite dishes, cocktails, and left within the hour.
excellent interesting food...great service...great place
Great food and service, as always - selections are tastefully presented, delicious and the kitchen provides such variety of food types. One suggestion to correct for a better experience: climate control was a little off -- the dining room was very cold - my daughter and I had to dine with our coats!
Great location for National Portrait Gallery (Obama portraits) or Capital One Arena for sports or other events. Even before 6 PM on a Tuesday, it was very lively and reservations should be made several days before just to be safe. Mezze portions vary in size, so it is hard to determine how much to order if you order everything at once. Couscous is tasty and very filling; spanakopita was OK; Iman Bayildi was excellent; shish taouk nicely presented; and ice cream/sorbet trio a nice way to finish the meal. Flatbread complimented the meal. For two people, this combination hit the spot. Reservation was made indicating this was a birthday celebration - they seemed to miss it. Also, pace seemed to be fast to get people in and out. If this is a concern, order one or two items at a time. With the range of food, I would recommend Zaytinya.
We had a great dinner before the Pink concert! The server was super helpful and the staff accommodated our reservation even though we were late. Thanks so much for a great dining experience!
Zaytinya is a great spot for lunch. You have an opportunity to try a lot of different flavors. Most of the menu encourages sharing, which is enjoyable.
Fun place with great food. We make reservations well in advance.
Always a hit for me, and the new seasonal additions were no exception. I do wish the noise level could be tempered but when the patio opens I'll sit there.
If you are in the mood for Mediterranean while visiting museums or before event in arena, make a reservation and visit this place.
To my opinion tables are a little small but hey I guess everything is kind of small in the city.
Food is fresh and absolutely delish!
