Zaytinya Ratings and Reviews
My friend and I had the Chef’s Experience with the wine pairing and it was amazing. The food was delicious and filling and the drinks were a nice compliment to each dish. The service was also excellent and our server was very knowledgeable about the menu. Would definitely recommend the restaurant and the Chef‘s Experience.
A really fun, creative meal with great flavors and fresh ingredients. In particular, the seafood options are wonderful. Highly recommend the octopus and the scallops, as well as the hummus with lamb. Friendly, helpful and attentive service. Really liked that they have an option for miniature versions of all of the desserts, so that you can have a taste of something rich without getting over-full. Definitely pricey but not over-the-top for a special occasion.
Zaytinya is efficient and it has a good formula. It still has a great interior but it feels more like a mass produced product. The food is as interesting as ever but the execution is less impressive. The baked cheese was dry and slightly overcooked. The cauliflower seemed as if had been precooked and warmed up. The lamb kebab was good with nice spices but not as special as in the past. Overall it is worth another try but it feels like a big restaurant with a large staff and not much personal attention.
Fantastic meal! We got the Zaytinya experience and the Classic experience and both were under 65 and came with four courses and SO much food! Everything was fantastic and happily we have lots of leftovers. They were running about 20 mins behind schedule with a reservation which was the biggest downfall.
This was recommended to us by a friend and so we went and ordered what she said was excellent. So... the lamb kebobs were tough... in hindsight we should have returned them to the kitchen as they were chewy and not reflective of lamb at all. The other lamb dish I had was great... Hunkar Begendi ..it was about $15 and tender like stew meat and was recommended by our waitress. The pilaf was dry and not what my boyfriend expected. Brussel sprouts were a treat as was the Htipiti red pepper spread as an appetizer, especially when eaten with the pillows of pita. The dessert was awesome...Turkish Delight Messe-Style... walnut ice cream, yogurt mousse, honey gelee, orange-caramel sauce, carmelized pine nuts. So delicious! Overall, I would return and ask wait staff what they recommend. They did not have a deep menu of beer so I was disappointed but got a Goose Island at least.
Went there for my Mom's 81st Birthday. She is Turkish and loved the menu. I am vegan and found many items to choose from. My mom read our fortunes in the Turkish coffee grounds. The only thing missing was BAKLAVA! Maybe the chef should let my mom teach him how to make it her way...It's the best. 😊 Highly recommend. Love this restaurant!
Food is ALWAYS consistent at Zaytinya's! Eat there frequently before Caps games as well as just for a fun meal. Great positive energy, interesting small plates, good drinks, and always excellent service. Would recommend for groups or couples, goys, gals, not for intimate "romantic" dining. For that type of occasion, there other places close that are better suited.
Only write reviews for place where I have eaten consistently. Zaytinya is a no brainer. You will enjoy!
The food is quite good, we had a hard time picking our favorite dish. However, the service was terrible. Our waiter was so otherwise pre-occupied that I had to flag people down for water, silverware etc... Also, one of the noisiest places, do not go there if you are looking for something romantic. Drunk woman to our left was plenty entertaining though
