Very good small dishes and overall food, very poor service. We visited at 3:00 pm in the afternoon and you would have thought we walked in dragging our own table. The staff was oblivious.

Very good food. Also, easy to share with others at the table. Wait staff was very kind but also non-intrusive.

Jose Andres menus never disappoint! Love the amazing mix of flavors. We ended ordering too many plates, so be careful with that one. Hummus was to die for!

Went here for a birthday dinner due to reviews and hype around it being a José Andrés restaurant. We ordered the Chef’s experience which left much to be desired. For a $65/person tag touting an adventurous culinary experience, it seemed more like a traditional everyday Turkish meal. Our waitress could not answer our question of what the Chef’s Experience entailed except vague answers of 3-4 dishes and that it’s better than the classic one. However, some of the dishes were clearly on the lower end of the price range found on the a la crate menu. For these tasting menus, it would be nice to actually know the 4 dishes that will be served rather than feeling as if it were an impromptu set-up.

Overall, it is much better to order 4 separate items rather than the tasting menu.

The service was okay, but it seemed our particular waitress needed assistance as she kept asking us to pass the dishes to her throughout the course. After the first two course, our plates were finally changed. Not to mention our valet parking guy left a scratch on our car’s rear side - drive more carefully buddy, it was a new car..

There are better options for Mediterranean cuisine in the area. Will not be coming back.

We have made an annual trip to Washington DC for the "Family Day" holiday in Canada which coincides with the US President's Day weekend. We have numerous Canadian friends that have recommended this restaurant when they heard we were going to DC. This is our second year in a row selecting this restaurant for a date night while in DC and we will return on our next trip to DC. Great food, good menu and reasonably priced considering the value.

The food was excellent. We found the restaurant to be very busy and sometimes the wait staff could not accommodate the needs of the patrons in a timely manner. However, the food was varied and very well seasoned without being salty. Bread was abundant. The Chef choice tasting menu is enough for two people and is not exotic at all. It is a basic Middle Eastern meal, albeit very good. The cocktail choices were excellent. We had the 3pm in Instabul and the Thyme after Time. Both cocktails were a varied mix of ingredients and very unique.
Is it better than the family owned Middle Eastern restaurant in terms of food, probably not. However, the cocktails, ambiance and choice of dishes is worth a visit.

Even with a 9:30 reservation, there was a thirty minute wait to get seated. Great food and friendly service!

We had a pretty miserable experience. We arrived about 15-20 minutes early and our table was not ready yet. This doesn't bother me and we went to the bar for a drink. However, half an hour past our reservation time our table was still not ready and no one had been over to speak to us or apologize. Once we sat down the menu was handed over. It's a pretty large menu so we were hoping the server would be able to help guide us. Instead she knew almost nothing about the wine offerings and just pointed at different ones.

The food we decided to get did end up tasting OK. Nothing special but not bad. Given my experiences at other Jose Andres restaurants we were very disappointed

Definitely one of my favorite restaurants - fantastic food, excellent service and the drinks are fantastic. The restaurant accommodated our group of 11 and provided flawless service along the way - they were also really accommodating with our request to have separate checks. The food was amazing, and we definitely recommend the lamb shoulder and the Brussel sprouts.

As usual, Zaytinya was excellent. We arrived half an hour before our 6pm reservation, but were seated right away-even though the place was jumping and crowded. We each ordered 2-4 tapas-style Middle-Eastern dishes to share. The food was delicious. We even ordered a tart cherry drink to go with the meal. It too was delicious! Zaytinya never disappoints! Thank you

Zaytinya is one of my favorite spots for special ocassion lunches or drinks with colleagues and business partners. There’s no happy hour, but the value for lunch isn’t excellent. We hosted a baby shower lunch here this past week and they gave us a great table and excellent service corn group of 10.

Very disappointed in vegetarian menu! All fried food was done in the same oil as non-vegetarian! Waitress did warn us.
I picked this based on on line vegetarian menu. Need to correct that on line and warn ahead of time.

My friend loved the halloumi cheese and got a second plate!!

My friend and I had the Chef’s Experience with the wine pairing and it was amazing. The food was delicious and filling and the drinks were a nice compliment to each dish. The service was also excellent and our server was very knowledgeable about the menu. Would definitely recommend the restaurant and the Chef‘s Experience.

We went with tapas and all five selections were good to excellent. The service was prompt and efficient and the wine suggestions were spot on. Noisy, not conducive to quiet conversation.
