Busy but great spot for an early pre-theater dinner. Attentive staff make all the little plates fit even on a small two-top.

I loved every dish we tried. Mediterranean cuisine done in small plates manner. You can get everything from hummus to goat stew. Everything tastes great!!! The food has just the right amount of spice. We had to wait a little but it was worth it. They gave us 2 appetizer plates free to thank us for waiting. Spoiler alert... baklava is not one of their desserts.

Excellent food/ varied and interesting menu-
Had to wait for a VERY long time to be seated/unprofessional service - clearing table throughout the meal instead of waiting for everyone to finish/ felt rushed from beginning to end...and the noise level was terrible and not conducive to a fine dining experience. It’s a shame because it’s definitely one of the best Greek restaurants we’ve ever been to in the US.

I have a new team member who is vegan. I wanted to find a place that he would enjoy, but I would also enjoy because I’m not vegan. This was the spot and we both enjoyed a great lunch and conversation.

Everything was wonderful, the food all delicious-Brussels sprouts, meatballs, branzino small plates that we shared. Service was good and pretty restaurant. Some parts very loud but our table not too loud. Enjoyed and will be back!

I had a terrible experience at Zatinya. I had booked a table and brought two of my non-governmental organisation's funders for a social meal. I had a reservation for 7:15 pm and when I arrived the Maitre de said that we should wait for 10 minutes at the bar. She said she could not come to find us when the table was available so I should come back to check with her. I went back and she said to wait for another 10 minutes. After 30 minutes, I was frustrated and embarrassed. She offered to seat us outside and that she would invite us inside once the indoor table was available and offered us a round of drinks. We sat outside for another 30 minutes and were getting quite cold. When I went back inside she said that she'd given our table away because we were outside. I had to ask for the Manager to intervene who kindly found us a table inside within 5 minutes and was quite apologetic. The Maitre de was consistently unhelpful, uncaring and unprofessional. Once we were inside, we enjoyed the food but the noise levels were quite high. I would definitely not recommend this restaurant to a friend or colleague.

Zaytinya has been a long-time favorite restaurant of ours, and we were happy to go on a long overdue lunch date. We arrived 30 minutes prior to our reservation, and they took us early, which was nice. We ordered some of our favorite dishes, cocktails, and left within the hour.

Great food and service, as always - selections are tastefully presented, delicious and the kitchen provides such variety of food types. One suggestion to correct for a better experience: climate control was a little off -- the dining room was very cold - my daughter and I had to dine with our coats!

Great location for National Portrait Gallery (Obama portraits) or Capital One Arena for sports or other events. Even before 6 PM on a Tuesday, it was very lively and reservations should be made several days before just to be safe. Mezze portions vary in size, so it is hard to determine how much to order if you order everything at once. Couscous is tasty and very filling; spanakopita was OK; Iman Bayildi was excellent; shish taouk nicely presented; and ice cream/sorbet trio a nice way to finish the meal. Flatbread complimented the meal. For two people, this combination hit the spot. Reservation was made indicating this was a birthday celebration - they seemed to miss it. Also, pace seemed to be fast to get people in and out. If this is a concern, order one or two items at a time. With the range of food, I would recommend Zaytinya.

Always a hit for me, and the new seasonal additions were no exception. I do wish the noise level could be tempered but when the patio opens I'll sit there.

If you are in the mood for Mediterranean while visiting museums or before event in arena, make a reservation and visit this place.
To my opinion tables are a little small but hey I guess everything is kind of small in the city.
Food is fresh and absolutely delish!

Excellent! Zaytinya is a lively, open spaced restaurant with an upbeat atmosphere. Service was friendly and our server was very familiar with the menu and free with recommendations. The dishes are Mediterranean. The meal is served family style which is wonderful for sampling different dishes. Our group of three had about 10 different small plates and each was superb. Highly recommend the Brussels sprouts, the crispy eggplant, and the mushroom saganaki. The “chocolate rose” dessert was delicious and great for sharing. Maybe the best Mediterranean restaurant that I have ever been too. It’s that good.

Great location, central to several venues. Bar has an impressive line up of awesome cocktails out of the ordinary. Service is prompt attentive and never left us wanting.
Food is excellent with a variety of dishes and flavors.
Reservations are a must this hotspot can get very busy quickly.

Zaytinya is my favorite restaurant in DC. When I come to DC, I go to the Portrait Gallery which closes at 7 and then to Zaytinya for dinner. I’m already thinking about my next trip.

Fun to eat family-style. We lingered at our table after the check was dropped (Weren't quite through visiting) and the waitress didn't make us feel we'd outstayed our welcome. Thank you!

We loved each dish so much, we returned the next night. The 2nd visit we had to sit at the bar, a small price to pay for beautifully prepared and spiced food. Highly recommend dolmades, cauliflower, baba ganoush, hummus, both mushroom dishes. Each dish is unique.

I used to love going to Zaytinya for the quality of food and service. This time I was there for brunch, but the food was okay- definitely not what I would expect from a Jose Andres’ restaurant. The service was lacking too.

The food is always good at Zaytinya. Being my mother is middle eastern, I group up with this kind of food. While I am partial to my mother's cooking Zaytinya is a close second. It also has lively and fun atmosphere and tapas are the perfect way to share the many excellent dishes they have. If good food and lively atmosphere are what you are looking for, this place won't let you down.

Our waiter was so knowledgable about the wine list and menu, he had great recommendations, and really made the experience worthwhile. The entire experience including food, vibe, and wine was fantastic. I will be back.
