Need to book at 1:30 AM?Other great restaurants with availability.
Great combination of Mediterranean tapas. All dishes were well balanced and flavorful.
My favorite restaurant in Washington D.C.
One of my favorite restaurants in DC!
My head hurt after having great service and fantastic food, as always. Just to noisy.
First time here. We enjoyed the ambience and meal. We ordered sangria and hummus to start. I really enjoyed the fresh bread and appreciated that they gave you a second basket without having to ask. We also ordered the grape leaves, beet salad, scallops, and skewer chicken. To end our meal we ordered the rose ice cream. Overall a delicious meal.
Small plates with something of a Greek focus (the stuffed grape leaves are the best we've ever had). It's clearly a Jose' Andres restaurant: thoughtful, creative dishes fit for foodies. Really exciting eating. Everything was so good that nothing in particular stands out.
Very poor service from our table in the bar area.
Firstly, our spreads arrived without napkins, utensils or sufficient pita bread.
Then, the bartender/server attempted to take our menus away before we had completed our order.
Then, we ordered 2 of the same flights of wine, at least one glass of which was quite different, taste-wise, than the corresponding glass. (None of wines were particularly memorable; opt for a full glass, or a bottle.)
Lastly, our remaining order of 5 warm courses arrived simultaneously, resulting in a lot of cold food by the time we made it to the end.
This has always been among my favorite restaurants. It will be quite a while before I return.
Tip: do not subject yourself to the inferior service of the bar area staff.
Amazing food, great ambiance 10/10
Amazing good and excellent service
Delicious wine recommendations, food was fantastic, service was fabulous!
The food was delicious! There were so many options to choose from, it was hard to decide. I had three plates, which was more than enough for one. With a beer, my total was under $50. Highly recommend.
Food was excellent but the service was very slow.
The food was fantastic, except the dessert was mediocre (ice cream). Ordered the chef’s special and it was nice to let them pick the dishes and bring them out, all of which were wonderful.
The two of us did the lunch mezze and got to try lots of different things - they were all incredible! It's a great way to have all sorts of tasty food.
Zaytinya is always a knockout, sure-to-impress restaurant choice! There are plenty of vegetarian options that are enjoyed by meat-eaters and non-meat-eaters alike. The dynamic space adds another element of excitement to this highly recommended eatery!
We felt the food was a little over hyped- good but not great. Also it took over 30 minutes to be seated despite having made a reservation, with minimally apology. And our waitress was a bit rude and rushed
Always excellent with knowledgeable and attentive servers.
By making a simple request on OpenTable we were ushered to a quiet table just perfect for my 90 y.o. Mom. The service from Joel G. was attentive and very engaging, the food delicious, the price more than reasonable, and the ambiance perfect. It's more than a neighborhood gem, it's a gastronomic destination!
Wonderful! So many flavors. Service was outstanding. Javier was so gracious. Thank you!
This is the last time I’m going to Zaytinya. No matter what time your reservation is, they make you wait. Our reservation was at 8:45. They sat us at 9:10. This happens every time.
Also, the food is not what it used to be. . .You can do much better in DC.
Service was fine. The only positive is that it is a cheap bill but I would rather spend more, be sat on time, have good food with better service.
Food was great, drinks were great. Worst part of the evening was realizing we’d have to leave at some point.
I love Zaytinya and always make it a point to eat lunch or dinner there on my trips to DC. Great flavors, well crafted dishes and warm, attentive service. This time the truffle pide and galatopita dessert were big standouts in an excellent meal.
My wife and I absolutely love it here. All the food is delicious and the service is wonderful. I have a dairy allergy and our waiter was gracious enough to get me a menu that listed food allergens on it, and still made sure with the chef after we ordered that my dishes were dairy-free. We can’t wait to come back.
Great experience, food and service! Couldn’t have been better! And the sauces! Best brussels we’ve ever had and we have tried quite a few.
Delicious small plates, quiet and friendly wait staff
SOOOO delicious and great venue. Can’t wait to go back
Had reservations for 945pm, arrived at 940pm and was told we had “checked in” and were not seated until 1005pm. Food was over cooked, over seasoned, and for a tasting menu portions were too big. Did not get the last dish till after midnight.
Not the Zaytinya experience I expected. Granted it was Valentine’s Day, we had to stand for 25mins waiting to be seated even with a reservation. Once seated, we had to vie and compete for our server’s attention. Asked for our check halfway through
We went to Zaytinya about 6-8 years ago and thought it was great. We went for Valentine's Day and truly - every single bite was out of this world. A whole other level of being mesmerized by food - artistic food. And the service was wonderful - attentive - and they were very busy! We felt catered to, cared for - and everything was special. I look forward to returning soon!
The food was great, but the service was just okay. I think this was the case, because it was Valentine’s Day. Otherwise, had a great meal.
Definitely open to coming back again!
We did the chef’s tasting menu... 8 courses of deliciousness... pushed the envelope on being “too much” (the ice cream desserts came in heavy at the end), but the overall meal was incredible. Resist the temptation to hit the homemade bread.
From beginning to end this restaurant was fantastic. The food tastes fabulous. Will be back.
The food and service were good. The noise was loud and the tables were so close together that customers and servers kept hitting our coats on our chairs and standing at our table so others could pass by.
This place was amazing! We ate here because of the location but found it to be a great find. This is a 5 star place all the way. Kelly our waitress was knowledgeable and extremely attentive. She made recommendations that were spot on to our taste. We ate there on Valentines Day so we expected the worst since it is usually such a mad house but our table was perfect. We weren't rushed and the food was out of this world flavorful, unique and fresh!
My wife and my in laws had been here several years ago and my wife has never stopped talking about it, so I decided to surprise her with a valentines reservation! I could go on for hours about it how good it was, simply put NOTHING WAS OUT OF ORDER, from the host to the porters clearing plates everyone was in sync and on point! Chef Michael Costa himself even came out to check on tables and people’s experience! You all are top class, we are moving to Pittsburgh and two months and this was a great way to have our last valentines dinner in DC
We love Zaytinya! We come here for special events such as birthdays, anniversaries and graduations. The food is so good and the service is wonderful. Their cocktails are also really yummy!
Probably the best Mediterranean food I have ever eaten. Great taste and service each an every time. Go for the lamb chops!
Very good service. Excellentn't food. A delightful evening!
Great for a pre-theater bite and bar specials. Awesome choices for all - so glad we weren’t rushed and could order from the “happy hour” specials as well as dinner menu.
