We look forward to seeing you soon!
Under the direction of celebrated chef José Andrés and his ThinkFoodGroup team, Zaytinya offers an innovative mezze menu inspired by Turkish, Greek and Lebanese cuisines served up in a sleek and modern setting. Building on Jose’s deep knowledge of Mediterranean cooking and years of research and travel, the menu features shared small plates of authentic and innovative fare, creative cocktails, and unique Mediterranean wines, making Zaytinya one of the most exciting restaurants in Washington DC.
This restaurant is never disappointing! Great staff and excellent food.
We have eaten at Zaytinya several times, and this time was a bit of a disappointment. The service was slow (it was a Friday night), and the food wasn’t quite as good as on previous occasions. For example, the lamb kebabs had excellent flavor but were quite dry and chewy. The chicken kebab wasn’t quite as well done as I like poultry to be. And the tzatziki was surprisingly bland. Maybe just an off night?
Very poor unattentive service! 45 minutes to order during a lunch hour that was not busy.
Jose Andres deserves gratitude and recognition for his heroic public service. This makes it all the more amazing that he manages to keep his restaurants operating at such a superb level despite the Coronavirus pandemic.
Had booked a table for 4, but needed to cut it back to 2 when the journalist in our group had to work late. Maitre D was kind enough to give us a table for 4 in case the others could join us (they did).
Zaytina has long been a favorite, and this visit did nothing to diminish our delight with the food, ambience and service. We ordered four Mezze and shared the Kabob platter. Server was smart enough to stagger the Mezze, Baba and pepper first, then the hot mushrooms, and saved the Cauliflower as a veg to go with the kabobs. All excellent.
The other two in our party managed to get there just in time to have a light supper while we shared a dessert. The chocolate torte is still wonderful. And our server adjusted to the change as if it was routine.
The patio now has some plastic side curtains and tenting above, which was a help on a cooler and windy evening. And even though we chose a Wednesday night based on schedules, it did not hurt to be able to take advantage of the 50% off bottles of wine.
I realize that writing rave reviews might encourage more people to fill the space every night. But dining at this one of Andre's restaurants is truly special. AND it contributes to his truly important humanitarian efforts. The latest is helping India with their massive COVID outbreak. Dining at any of the wonderful restaurants in his group is good. Contributing directly to World Central Kitchen is even better.
Very good and reasonable. 1:30 p.m. was a good time to dine.
Amazing experience and food was to die for and I was fasting and my amazing server brought out the food quickly and she was thoughtful.
I had a really good time there. The food was great their pita bread was awesome and the portions were large. We were stuffed by the end. Definitely recommend it
Excellent. Ate outdoors. Very covid safe. Delish food.
As always, we had an incredible experience. The level of care and service is top notch. We did have one issue arise, but it was dealt with quickly and kindly.
The atmosphere inside Zatinya is peaceful and refreshing. The food is delicious and the service as quick and friendly. We will definitely go back!
The service was slow and several of our dishes came out slow. We had enlist the help of another server. Aside from this it was a pleasant experience.
The food was spectacular. We ordered a number of vegetarian dishes and they were great! Since we sat outside, the noise level wasn't an issue. The service left something to be desired... not sure if due to server's inexperience or being too busy but the food was great. We will definitely go back again.
I’ve gone to this restaurant since they’ve opened. It never, ever disappoints. The best food; kindest staff; and beautiful restaurant. The cocktails are great and I’ve tried something new each time. Such a special place.
Just a great place. The waiter even remembered us from the last time we were there. He remembered our drinks of choice.
Food was amazing, food runners explained the dishes, great beverage selection.
Go to place ! Consistently good service and food. Love it here!
After waiting 90 minutes for our food at lunchtime service, my colleague and I had to leave without eating due to meetings...weekday lunch should not take more than a hour to be served once food orders are placed! Little to no communication from server on issues, either.
Great service and great food!
I’ve been there several times so I knew what to expect. But this time, it was just disappointing. We wee seated on a table that wasn’t even set up, no cutlery or salt/pepper. The food was bland and tasteless. When I asked the server to make a recommendation, they suggested a dish that was so identical to the one we had already ordered. Another server constantly kept trying to take out plates away even though you could tell we hadn’t finished. It wasn’t a welcoming atmosphere and we felt more like a hinderance than customers.
There was very little ambiance inside as well. But more than anything, it was the food that really disappointing me. Everything else wouldn’t have mattered. A very disappointing evening
First visit since COVID. I had not researched in advance and was a tad disappointed that some of my favorite items were not available but we enjoyed what we had, especially happy hour cheese pide and rose, turmeric pickles in the olive orektika, and shish taouk. Patio was comfortable with tables well spaced.
We had another amazing meal at Zaytinya. The outdoor area is spacious and attractive. Our sever was phenomenal and provided excellent service and great menu recommendations. Everyone in our party was very happy with their food and the overall experience. Thank you!
Everything was superb: service, drinks, food, ambience. You have a great team!
Best food in DC. The outdoor seating was a welcome sight to see and the servers were all very kind.
My favorite restaurant in DC. Always a pleasure!
The Rozay brunch was an amazing deal and delicious!
This was our first time dining at Zaytina but we will definitely be back. Wanted to try everything on the menu. The bread is fantastic!
The place is great, food is delicious and the service is really good, the only thing I didn't like I was that even though I had a reservation, they made us wait 20 minutes or so to get our table, and a lot more people was there waiting as well.
great food and value
Had fabulous waiter- Elvis- who chose our menu for us, great service and delicious food, were with ild friends hadnt seen in yrs, made for a wonderful night!
amazing experience:) fav restaurant in dc
Good food but I would not come back because of the service. They were disorganized, 15 min wait despite having a reservation, rude host, nice waiter but the service was slow.
First time back in over a year. Love Chef Jose Andres, and love the vaccine! Happy to say Zaytinya hasn't lost its touch. Can't wait to come back!
The food was good, not great. The only thing that was truly best of its class was the brussel sprouts. Everything else was okay, and I've had better at more authentic restaurants. DC has so many amazing places that I wouldn't come back any time soon.
Indoor seating has every table seated, rather than keeping separate parties separated, which made for a noisy room. Food was fantastic!
The food was soooo good!! The lamb was very tender. The bread was warm and delicious! The service was outstanding. I can’t wait to go back
Food was delicious, as ever. It got loud upstairs, even with 25% capacity!
Such a great place to eat! Brought some friends from out of town and they loved it. Highly recommend
Simply the best food and service in Washington DC.
The tasting menu is a mus try. Service was great too!
Zaytinya was a great choice for our first post-vaccinated date night. The service is fantastic and they treat you so well. It’s difficult to feel this type of elevated service with outdoor covid-dining, but they did it! The food was spectacular, and the cocktails were amazing too
