So nice to see such a quality and authentic Lebanese option for the Dallas food scene, if you have never visited Lebanon, after the beautiful people, the food is world class... Now Deep Ellum/Dallas can have a wonderful taste of it! Excellent food and drink menu, service and experience!

Dinner was great. Food was delish and our server was really great and attentive.
Only ding is that i had a reservation for the dinning area indoors, but was placed in the smoking section of the restaurant. not really comfortable eating around smoking hookahs.

Great meal, fun environment. I love Mediterranean cuisine, and Lebanese is amazing. Our waiter was pretty obviously on his first or second day, but that's not normal for this place. I'll be a return customer.

It was good. Will go back again. Service was ok. A bit frustrating with a forgetful waiter but he was busy.

Great find in Deep Ellum. Appealing menu and food preparation that did not disappoint. A spot to hit anytime during the day.

We found this restaurant via the D Magazine write up in them. The food was ok here, but the terrible service is the lasting memory. It took 15 minutes to have our waiter greet us and take our drink orders. It took us 55 minutes to get our hummus, falafel and Brussels sprouts appetizers. The falafel was t fully cooked, the hummus was good and the Brussels sprouts were amazing. They were the best item we had that night. Our entrees came much quicker thankfully. Once our entrees were delivered and we had a check our waiter never came back to check on us. This was frustrating since we had a hooka and were smoking there for several more hours. At that point we just went directly to the bar for more drinks. No manager ever came by to check on our meal, despite chatting with one of the owners when we arrived. Every table around us also had similar service or lack thereof. Bottom line there are better Lebanese restaurants in Dallas with much better service than Zatar. I would not recommend it.

We went for a birthday, alerted the waiter but no special attention was given. We asked to substitute one of the items on the $45 meza plate and were told that we would be up-charged. We were a party of 4 and had ordered cocktails and other appetizers so we thought that was a little much :{ The owner was there and was friendly and his toddler daughter was playing alone at a table behind us......... interesting. The food was VERY good and we will definitely try it again though.

The food, ambiance, hospitality was over the top! We felt like family from the moment we stepped through the door. We want to go back tomorrow. Everything was delicious. The absolute best Brussel sprouts on the planet. We ordered another serving once we tasted the first serving. Go!

Overall it has a good menu with nice Lebanese choices. They don't seem to get the spices quite right though - theyway overdue it. It the chef is able to smooth out the taste issues, we would really like it.

Great food and love the hookah service. The actual waiter could have been a lot better. There were periods were he didn’t come to our table for over 30 minutes and getting our check at the end of the night was a real hassle. Still willing to go back and try again. Hopefully better service next time but the hookah, food, and ambiance make up for what the service was lacking!

Frequent visitor and highly recommend. Great location, great menu, great owners, great all round. Only issue was with DJ playing club doof doof music as part of his set...probably not teaming with the theme of Arabian nights and belly dancers.

Delicious and authentic Lebanese food beautifully prepared, served with care and attention. The main dining room was lovely. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The Owner visited and made sure we enjoyed the meal. Everything about this place was great. We dined early at 6:30PM and the indoor dining room was empty, even though the open air dining was busy. By 8PM, the place was SRO. Glad we finally tried it out, as Zatar will be on our regular East Dallas dining list for sure.

A slight modern twist on classic Lebanese food but still very good. A few dishes we had were good enough that we'd go back just for those dishes (Kibbeh Nayah, Juddurah Croquettes, Shish Tawook, etc). The only negative was their very tiny pours on wine. It took me all but 3 sips to finish a glass, and I'm not a fast drinker. That was very disappointing.

I enjoyed the food a lot but wish our server was more attentive. I feel like we were forgotten about for long periods of time. I would have ordered more food and drinks had the server been around take our orders. Now it will be hard to convince my fiancé to come back even though the restaurant is beautiful inside with a fantastic patio and the food was very good.

Service was great the appetizers were also very good, Shwarma Burnt and Grainy we had the tea and it was perfect tea. We should have stayed with only the appetizers. Sad Because i was so looking for a great shwarma place. Labne was excellent just like home made. Pita bread came out hot and great.

I love salty food but the chicken was so salty it was almost inedible.

Asked for a salad instead of potatoes and got potatoes.

Went for the first time during restaurant week. The food did not disappoint. The lamb was amazing, the wine was good and the deserts were decadent. Definitely recommend. Depending on your budget dinner may be a tad bit pricey (starting around $25/plate) but the food is definitely worth it. Bonus points for being in Deep Ellum so plenty of bars and live music around if it's a date night/celebration.

We have traveled the world and this food is as good as we have eaten in the Mideast, including Athens. Recently a friend of ours, originally from Beirut, Lebanon prepared dinner for us in Seattle, this restaurant was as delicious as our friend's homemade dinner in his home in Seattle. This was simply an amazing experience. We recommend this restaurant and we will return many, many times.
