Very slow service. Food isn’t exceptional. Waiter accidentally billed us for 2X the amount
Slightly expensive than other Indian restaurants in Manhattan but it’s okay.
Overall a very pleasant dining experience.
Good food, pleasant ambience and welcoming staff.
My new go to restaurant in Midtown.
The waiter was very attentive and help in the choice with excellent indications.
We really liked it and weren’t rushed - it was a relaxing atmosphere.
Food was very good. Service was bad. Had to wait a long time for check before I got up and gave him my card. Never asked if we wanted coffee or dessert either, just left us there.
I’m still talking about how great my lamb was four days later. The food was sooooooood. And service was just as good.
My nephew’s Birthday.
Really good food - really great service!
Was quiet when we were there but enjoyable.
The usual mid-town Indian lunch buffet with better than normal food and a nice dining room, not crowded and relatively quiet.
I could perhaps give Zaika a better rating if it relied only on food alone. The most egregious error they made, was on a quiet evening, with only 2-3 tables occupied. Two of the six mains came incomplete, without their accompanying sauces. We had to ask for the remainder of the dish, and then waited for at least 10 minutes for them to appear, while the rest of us waited. The kitchen did not seem to know what constituted the dishes listed on the menu, and neither did the waiter.
There are many excellent Indian restaurants in New York City and they deserve your patronage before Zaika, until they can get their act together. For a meal that was $65 a person, one deserves better.
Food was great.
The service was impeccable, the food was absolutely delicious and the setting was serene and pretty. Did not feel in the least bit rushed. I would return again and again to Zaika when in the United Nations area. My guest from Toronto absolutely loved the experience.
We had a wonderful time at Zaika. We shared a range of appetizers and vegetarian main courses. The turmeric soup was amazing and presented beautifully. All main courses were well prepared and tasted fantastic. The service was very good and courteous.
We got there early so the restaurant and bar were empty - it filled up gradually later in the evening.
Food is expensive but very good quality & tasty, although it upset all of our stomachs...
The service was good, not great. Nothing wrong with it, just didn't get warm fuzzies! Food was very tasty. Problem I had was the price. Compared to other restaurants, the lunch was very expensive for a restaurant that was in a basement! That stands out even more when comparing to other Indian restaurants which tend to be less expensive than many other cuisines
There was a party in their banquet hall so no anyone was paying much attention to us. Food was good
Some of the food was outstanding particularly the mango chutney and cucumber raita. Lamb dish in a cream sauce was overwhelmed by cream and made it difficult to taste the flavors in the sauce. Bread was average. The restaurant was empty. Nonetheless, service was terrible. Waiters spent most of their time congregated at the bar.
Had the lunch-time buffet. Strictly okay for a $20 price. They had aloo-baingan as one of the options. Who even serves that in a restaurant?
Zainoeddin has outstanding food and service. The decor is lovely. I would highly recommend it for dinner and lunch.
We had great time !!! Great atmosphere with amazing food choices.
A beautiful restaurant, great ambiance, quiet atmosphere, attentive service and fabulous food. A real gem for anyone loving Indian cuisine. Highly recommend as a real gem.
Tastiest Indian buffet in town at a very reasonable price.
The restaurant space is devoid of atmosphere, rather “cold”. The lady who greeted us and sat us at our table didn’t offer any explanation of daily specials, and when asked could not tell us how much the buffet lunch cost. Nor could the next person to attend to us. That said, the food was decent if not spectacular, with the usual limited range of a couple of chicken dishes, lamb, lentils, vegetables and a basic salad selection. There is better in the neighborhood...
Delightful! The food & presentation were really outstanding, ambiance was relaxed and quiet (on a Monday), and we had a great time.
Great value for money Indian cuisine at the heart of Manhattan. The buffet lunch is strongly recommended!
We had a great time and this was our first visit. The food was excellent and our service superb. We will definitely visit again.
Food was delicious! Service was great. Pleasantly surprised.
Food was interesting and flavorful and well prepared.
Staff and service was friendly and professional
Le service était excellent ———————————————————————————-
We’ve been twice in two weeks. Great sauces, fresh taste, friendly service.
While the food was very good, I felt that the price was a little high compared to other Indian restaurants in the neighborhood
Everything was great except that there was a lot of confusion over their discounts that were advertised on the door & how to price off menu drinks. We also had to have our bill redone 3x because there were things added or missing.
Five old classmates met for a late lunch and ended up spending about 3 hours in the place. Service was very friendly and polite, the food was very good. We certainly want to go back again.
Good option in midtown
Excellent execution and creative versions of traditional Indian dishes. Tandoori chicken was reported by members of our party as outstanding. Highly recommended.
We enjoyed our evening although Zaika is a bit overpriced.
This is how Indian food needs to be! I often stay close by for work and this is my to-go-to place, confirmed again by going to a different restaurant, same bill, the next night and not even close.
I had a 10 pm reservation on Monday night, so not surprisingly, it was not busy.
The dining room is well designed and the tables are stylishly set up.
I started with a cocktail (good not great). Thought amuse, potato based, nice flavor. I ordered Nawabi Seekh Kabab as appetizer, super delicious lamb meet, bit spicy (perfect). My entree was Murgh Labahdar: so delicious, nice spiciness, and very tender chicken. The plain naan was all I had - no need for rice depending on your bread vs rice preference.
All for less than 75$ with a nice tip and tax included. This was my 3rd visit and can highly recommend it! I will be back - likely every work trip I have at least one night.
My mom and I came here on a Thursday evening. We had two different lamb dishes, and both were wonderfully prepared, tender and delicious!
The cosmo I ordered before dinner was one of the best I've had. It included numerous very fine ribbons of lemon peel that added a wonderful taste and texture.
We shared a rice pudding for dessert. It was served warm. It was creamy, flavorful, and beautifully presented.
The service was excellent.
My only complaint is that our entrees did not come with any sides.
There are a variety of tasty sounding vegetarian options. My suggestion to other diners is to order one vegetarian and one non-vegetarian meal to split between two people.
This is what I plan to do next time I go tp Zaika.
