Zahav Ratings and Reviews
We often go to Zahav twice a year as a group to celebrate birthdays. The experience, food and service is above and beyond so my children (who are foodies) were mad that we’ve never taken them. We decided to take our kids to celebrate my daughter having her braces off— after 5 YEARS. Zahav once again did not disappoint. They are truly amazing in everything they do. The food is out of this world. Not everyone thinks they will be a fan of duck hearts, UNTIL you have tried the way Zahav has prepared it. Everything is better then the next. I have eaten at restaurants all over the world, and this is by far one of the top 5 in the world!! Yes— the world!! Service started from the moment they confirmed our reservation— equally as giddy for my daughter- to our arrival until the moment we walked out the door. They are doing EVERYTHING right there- actually better then right!! All I can say is make your reservation well in advance, and you will absolutely NOT be disappointed!!
The waitstaff at Zahav pulled out all the stops for us and made us feel so special for our birthday celebration. Even as we were the very last guests in the restaurant (with a 9 PM dinner reservation), our server chatted with us for an extra 10 minutes, sharing recipes and anecdotes with us. The food was uh-mazing! Great vegetarian options! Some unusual pairings, and not a bad bite the whole meal. Plates were delectably arranged, visually appealing as well as absolutely delicious. I think I will be a more creative cook this week (and who knows, maybe beyond!) because I was so inspired by some of their dishes. We left stuffed and incredibly satisfied; I don't spend $50/pp for a meal readily but this was a real treat, and actually well worth it!
This was our third trip to Zahav and they have not lost a step. The service is impeccable from the front of the house to the back. If you are lucky enough to score a rezzy and are not a vegitarian order the Lamb Shoulder and prepare to have your tastebuds explode with ecstasy. Thanks Zahav!
Zahav's food is legendary so we knew that we were in for a real treat when my husband and I took our two boys there. And absolutely is was. What was even more spectacular was the service. Every single interaction we had was perfect. The entire wait staff - from the waiter to the gentleman who was bussing our table - was keenly tuned in to what was needed without making a big thing of it. It's an art as wait staff to integrate yourself into a customer experience, and to do it authentically - which is exactly what happened. They not only made sure everything was perfect, they gave us numerous things to try, including wine, on the house. The whole experience was superb without being pretentious. A heartfelt thank you to the staff. The food and service are divine!
We went to Zahav for New Year’s Day dinner. The food was superb and the wait staff was helpful without being intrusive. Hummus and pita were memorable but the 6 fresh salads were also delicious. Each dish had unique and herbaceous flavors.
Lovely dining experience.
Can’t wait to return.
We had an incredible evening at Zahav. Food and service were both to notch and we wouldn't change a thing! The foie gras special was especially good. Menu is very reasonably priced for the value of what you get. Wish we could get down to old city/get a reservation more often!
I had to reserve two months prior for this restaurant. Although it was quite good, I do not think it deserves the hype it is receiving. We ordered the Lamb shoulder tasting menu with wine pairing, which was not written on the menu for some reason.
The first course was six different small vegetable dishes with hummus and bread. Each dish was unique and had its own style and strength, but nothing fantastic. But the hummus was the best hummus i've ever had.
After that, we ordered three different small dishes: steak, cheese, and salmon. The three dishes were also good but not excellent. You could find those dishes at any decent tapas bar e.g. Vernick (In fact, Vernick has better tapas i think.)
The lamb shoulder was also good but not excellent. I've seen reviews saying that it was the best lamb in their lives. It was not even close to that.
The last course was dessert which was also pretty good but not memorable.
I would like to come back to the restaurant to try more tapas but all the fuss i have to go through to make a reservation would probably hinder me from doing so.
Went for my birthday dinner (been here for dinner before for dinner) staff was amazing and was told happy birthday by 6 different staff members, food was the best I've ever had and I am vegan so the staff/chef was very knowledgeable and accommodating. Would recommend 100% and can't wait to go back!
We celebrated a significant birthday with out of town guests who we thought would enjoy Zahav's mix of ethnic food with creative new flavors. We were certainly correct. In addition, the friendly, efficient and complete service was perfect for this occasion.
Zahara was like an excellent ballet, with each person doing their part, as part of the team, to create an exceptional dining experience. Servers flitted in and out, almost imperceptibly, making certain that our needs and wants were addressed.
This was an A++ experience!
We waited 2 months for a 5:15pm reservation. 4 of us ordered the tasting menu to share. The hummus and salads were delicious. The rest of the meal was fair. The custard dessert tasted like soap and when we asked the waiter what flavor was in it, we were told orchid root. Yuk.
This was my first time dining at Zahav after hearing rave reviews about it for some time. We did the tastin menu and it was plenty of food, lots of variety and did not disappoint. This was one of the best dinners I have had to date. I would highly recommend!
We came here to celebrate my boyfriend’s college graduation. We had the Taste of Zahav menu and it was incredible! This was the best meal we have both ever had. The food was incredible and came out in perfect time increments. Such an amazing value for the delicious food we got. Service was great and the restaurant is beautiful inside. We will definitely be back!
The visit was to celebrate a friend's birthday. She had never been to Zahav. She loved it just like the rest of us. The hummus is the best on the planet. We had the $48 dinner. Everything single dish was just wonderful - halumi, eggplant, mushroom schnitzel, stuffed peppers and all the rest of it was great.
