We sat outside on the patio for a business lunch on a perfect day in April. They took lunch reservations which seemed hard to find in this area. Valet parking made it easy to get a large group in and out quickly. The inside vibe is funky industrial, the cozy outdoor patio was an intimate escape from the nearby street and parking lot. The guacamole was suggested to us with the free chips and salsa. It was fresh and chunky and stick to the chips delicious. All of the entrees were fresh, colorful and with a thoughtful presentation. This was a great choice for our guests with gluten free needs. The only down side was that this was a business lunch so we could not try the Margaritas, but the mint lemonade was delicious. Next time we will try for Happy Hour. This place gets 4 pinatas for the colorful food and fun!

Good afternoon lunch time

I cannot say enough good things about Yxta Cocina Mexicana. The food and service are consistently on point. If I lived closer and was not so busy I would dine there more often. Go for happy hour and order the tacos from the happy hr menu along with the duck taquitos. Don't forget to order the flan (leaving room for it is up to you), either way, order it and you won't regret it. Ask to sit in Juana's section. She's an absolute angel.

We had a really good meal: tacos and margaritas! It was relaxed, comfortable, and very attentive servers.

Meal was delicious and service was fast. I had the shrimp enchiladas and my coworker had the chile relleno and we shared guacamole. Guacamole is great, I love the crunchy pepitas. Love this place!

Food was amazing, only problem was I ordered a beer and it was not very cold. Other then that no complaints.

Went for dinner with my wife and her friend to celebrate both of their birthdays. Looking for something tasty but not too fancy near the brewery we were hitting up later. Tasty food, very friendly waiter.

I had friend from out of town and we decided to try Yxta Cocina. What a terrific choice! Very hip, new open layout, not too loud and great service. The food was amazing! I also have to say I really enjoyed the spicy cucumber margarita too. Thanks Yxta

Happy Hour is the best, however, do try the dinner items which are all excellent.

Our party of 9 was celebrating a birthday. The staff was exceptional. I arrived early and since the bar was full, our table was prepared early so that I could be seated. The food, service and ambiance was great!

Enjoyed the different menu selections, the professional and friendly staff and the ambiance. It got us away from work.

We sat outside which was fine. Inside noise level was too high for conversation. Chips for salsa were fresh home made and very tasty - probably ate too many - We all had taccos and enjoyed them though later felt rather "heavy". Freshly made fruit drinks were wonderful and the flan which 3 of us shared made a nice final touch. I will probably go again. Those chips were soooo good!

Yxta Cocina Mexicana is an amazing place near downtown. It's a hidden gem. Their food is always amazing, and can accommodate large parties well. They're flan is perfect.

I enjoy the food hands down some of the best prepared Mexican food in Los Angeles. But for a tequila bar the drinks are a little on the light side. So hear is what I do 3 fingers, tequila of your choice in a whisky glass no ice. The house fresh waters or Arnold Palmer and mix to your liking or sip the tequila like its supposed be.

Our dinning experience was great. Easy parking, easy check-in. Sat our group on time. Accomodated the extra person that was not a part of our reservation with no hesitation. Our entire party enjoyed each meal. Drinks were perfect and dessert was delicious! The wait staff was very pleasant and accomodating. We will definitly be going back to try more of there menu!

I decided to visit Yxta based on the yelp reviews. It was no surprise that I wasn’t disappointed. The service was excellent from the moment I walked in, to second I exited the restaurant. The staff was very polite and attentive to my table, as well as those of others’ around me. I appreciated the amount of lighting in the room- not to bright, not too dark. (I didn’t need a flashlight to read the menu unlike other places.) It was also good enough to capture some food shots. I was a bit nervous about ordering a Chile relleno since I haven’t tasted any better than my grandma’s. But this one came pretty close. Although I would have preferred it spicier, the ooey, gooey cheese filling made up for it. The batter coating on the Chile was light and fluffy; the sauce was flavorful, especially when mixed with the Spanish rice it rested on. Since I’m vegetarian, I’m not sure what else I’d try on the menu, but I’d definitely recommend Yxta to my meat-lover friends.

I'm a big fan of this place, though not of the neighborhood it's in. Food is yummy (especially the guacamole!) & Margaritas are fabulous!

Great spot, not overly difficult to park and just have a low stress dinner.

Staff is friendly and personable...we had a great time.

Took a long time to get drink refills.
Unwilling to veer from the menu on two different requests. One was just to make chicken tacos and the other a virgin mojito. Charged $1 for sour cream that took so long to get we didn’t even need it because we were done eating.

YTXA is probably one of the best and authentic Mexican restaurants in LA. The service is always excellent, the staff friendly and accommodating and the food absolutely delicious -plus great value.

The food and service is always consistent and great! The waiters and servers are down to earth and not snobby like some other DTLA restaurants. There's no attitude here. It's all about the food and the flan is OUT OF THIS WORLD!! If you can, request Juana's section if she's working that evening. She's super attentive and awesome! You won't regret dining at Yxta. I never do. If I had the chance, money, lived closer, etc. I'd eat there more often!

Servicer was very nice and patient with helping us to choose our food. Individual care was taken and servicer was knowledgeable about the food. The only negative was that I felt there was a lot of ice in my margarita, so much so that there was less of a drink (the glasses are on the smaller size).

It’s a great place to have a group of friends meet up. Parking is available and secured. Food was amazing and so were the drinks. Having a reservations made seating a fast and no waiting around. Staff is friendly and helpful.
