Beautiful interior, looks like an ancient library. Food may be presented as small portions, or you can order full plates that serve 3 people.
Food, atmosphere and service was all great, but it was very loud throughout the restaurant. Young crowd and loud music everywhere. Still good experience but plan on lots of noise.
Wildly overrated experience. Impersonal service, uncomfortable seating, long wait times between courses and music is far too loud even for this kind of setting.
Food was amazing. Every bite was flavorful and interesting. Cant wait to return.
Excellent service! Kevin was knowledgeable and attentive. The variety of the food was perfect and the decor was beautiful! We left enjoying everything and would highly recommend!
I love love love Yvonne's, this is a spot that will never disappoint. Creative drinks paired with some of the best food in Boston mean that regardless of why you are here, you'll have a good time. An energetic experience both at the bar and at your table, you can be sure it will be a lovely scene here. You do get the feeling that this is the kind of place you want to be seen at :)
A great place. Good vibe. Will definitely be returning. Awesome cocktails. 😀
Arrived @ 7:30 when reservations were at 9:00 hoping to get an earlier seat, just hung out at the bar and had a few very good cocktails. Not a word or an acknowledgement from the host/hostess so at 8:45 I checked in with them and was told “we’ll do our best to seat you at 9:00”. About 9:10 we went to the other bar and managed to grab two seats, at about 9:20 they came by to finally tell us the table was ready. I’m not complaining about the lack of any early table but a little acknowledgement and communication goes a long way. They both must have passed me a dozen times in the hour and a half that we were sitting at the bar, provide a status or a heads up that the 9:00 might even be late as a courtesy at least. Good food, good atmosphere, host staff needs a lesson or two in customer service.
Enjoyed a great night out at Yvonne’s prior to a show.
- Bootlegger cocktail was fantastic, overall an excellent cocktail list
- Kale salad and oyster mushroom flatbread were both delicious. We loved sharing these choices and would choose them both again.
- The carrots were a small portion, flavor seemed unbalanced, a confusing “social plate” for $15 - should be categorized as a side.
- Haloumi cheese also very tiny and was just ok.
- Service could use more polish considering the menu prices
We will definitely be back. Would really love to see a few more vegetarian / pescatarian options next time. Menu is on the meaty side.
The ambiance alone makes this a special place and the food is every bit as interesting and
appealing. We enjoy restaurants that specialize in small plates (tapas). Yvonne's small
plate offerings are imaginative and tasty. My wife and I had plenty to eat with an order
of four plates and a dessert all of which we shared. That and wine by the glass only set us
back $115,00 (before tip). Order taker Emily was very good in her recommendations and
explanations. We would definitely return to Yvonne's, this is a really neat restaurant.
Mathew is a fantastic server! Yvonne’s is a truly unique place—the decor, the ambiance and the food. Mathew was gracious and patient as he explained the menu and the different offerings. And he really ‘made the evening’ by being attentive without being intrusive. The wine choices were excellent. Marvelous place!
What a cool place to have a drink. Imagine this if you will ...friendly people serving clever drinks in a beautiful fun setting. Food was fine but make no mistake the star here is the scene.
Best restaurant in Boston!!!
Yvonne's does it again! A spectacular evening, from pre-dinner drinks at the bar to the cappuccino after dinner! Thanks to everyone for all the fun!
WE LOVE YVONNE'S AND COME FAIRLY REGULARLY THESE DAYS!! I LOVE THE FUN, GLAMOROUS ATMOSPHERE AND THE FOOD AND COCKTAILS ARE AMAZING! THE SERVICE IS GREAT, ATTENTIVE BUT NOT OVERBEARING! OUR WAITER KEVIN WAS ABSOLUTELY SPOT ON!! WE WILL ASK FOR HIM SOON, WE'RE COMING BACK IN A WEEK!!
The ultimate experience at the bar, where we also ate. Bartenders were professional, amiable and quite skilled. Highly recommend the small plates. Each one had more flavor than the next.
A wonderful surprise, not at all what I exected. While it is physically stunning and unquestionably upscale, the atmosphere and service made it feel like your favorite hangout. Small plates were served sequentially and timed just right. Server was very helpful in making menu choices. An incredible value, though not a cheap meal. Definitely going back.
Amazing food, cocktails, and vibe. Definitely will return!
All was perfect! A good place to go whit friends. Good food! Good ambiance!! WoW
This was my first visit to Yvonne's and it lived up to the hype. The space was very interesting and comfortable. The staff was attentive without being bothersome, and our waiter was very knowledgeable about both food and drinks. The menu format allowed for sharing a lot of different items and each item we ate was creative and delicious. The duck confit flatbread was particularly good. We were, unfortunately, too small a party to try out the baked Alaska, but we'll be going back another time to try it.
The food was fair. Tried to be open minded about the unique menu and we all tried a few items but it was really not something I could brag about and I probably won’t return for more. It would probably be a great idea to have some regular items on the menu for a fallback. Otherwise the place is really swanky and I could have marveled at the decor all night
Yvonne's exceeded our expectations in every aspect. The ambiance was fantastic. The menu/food had more variety and creativity than any other tapas restaurant we have been to; and every dish was excellent, with unique flavors defining each of them. We will definitely be returning.
Food is always fantastic and the decor is king! Love it
First time in this space since it was Lock-Ober. We were very impressed that it kept much of the decor, retaining its clubby atmosphere. Very good if eclectic food, great service, a bit strange no beers on tap, but all was wonderful. We will return.
Absolutely love Yvonne’s. The food is outstanding and the drinks unique. The staff is very accommodating and attentive.
Fun place with shareable plates and good cocktails
Never will I even give this restaurant a second thought overrated loud and overpriced
Fancy, funky and FANTASTIC food. While it's a bit on the pricey end, it's completely worth it especially for a special occasion or to impress people visiting.
Great venue for pre-theater dinner with friends. Very close to theaters, excellent atmosphere, wonderful cocktails. Food is relatively limited menu of small plates, but all plates were great and I'd rather a bunch of small plates than a huge meal, especially before a show. Service was fairly swift and very good-natured without being intrusive. Fantastic.
This place is everything
This is my favorite place in Boston. Actually, it is my favorite place period! Coming from DC and NYC can’t think of a more unique and hit place.
We had tapas at Yvonne's prior to going to the theater and to celebrate my birthday. VERY fun ambiance and great sharing plates.
Food and ambience was superb. Our server was kind of rude but other than that I enjoyed it! Would recommend.
The decor was spectacular ranging from brilliant chandeliers to the beautifully appointed cushioned seating. The front bar/lounge was surrounded by rows of books and the atmosphere was intimate and carried such a cool vibe. The cocktail list in addition to the wine list offered such an array of options for even the choosiest palate. The menu was a bit ‘tricky’ however as the ingredients and style were a bit eclectic. We had the pastrami toast which was a little fatty. and not that enjoyable. The chicken quinoa meatballs had such a nice kick to it and that along with the croquettes were definitely the winners out of our choices. My daughters also enjoyed the tater cubes but it was on a bed of sauce that was overwhelming. Overall however we would come back with no hesitation as there were other dinner options that we were curious about. It is a fantastic find!
The appetizers were too small for the price and the service slow
Love the ambiance of the speakeasy. food is always solid. Wine list by bottle is great, by glass just ok. champagne was excellent.
A quirky and vibrant venue for a fun evening out with friends. Friendly staff and a great cocktail menu. Every mouthful of the food was delicious.
Phenomenal ambiance, food, and drinks. Yvonne’s is one of our staples and most favorite restaurants in Boston.
Thoroughly enjoyed the small plates dining under the chandeliers. Of note were the oysters, mushrooms, lamb chops, hummus and kale salad, all of which I highly recommend. The Octopus was disappointing with a green olive? sauce. It was bland, and I thought it was plain avocado sauce, but the other diners said green olive, which I am surprised as I am an olive fan. Additionally stay away from the "duck confit" pita. This could be upgraded and improved with duck breast. My drink was luscious as were the greek donuts, carrot cake & chocolate twinkie. Would have liked a larger variety of desserts, however all that we tasted were delicious. YES, I would return here again & again.....
Food was fantastic and the people were all quite helpful. If you have a group of four or more, I would recommend any of “for 2+” items. The Viper and Baked Alaska were huge and would not be for 2 people unless you wanted leftovers that would last a couple of meals. The group of four sitting next two us shared their Baked Alaska and we shared with the group next to us. It was delicious and very boozy.
