Yvonne’s was amazing! My husband and I are both chefs and came here to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. Our server was incredible from the start. So knowledgeable and welcoming. The cocktails were insanely good and elegant. The food was also amazing! We had the croquettes, octopus, halloumi, lamb ribs, and the sujuk pita. They were all exceptional. It was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time. Recommend it to everyone!
Very cool spot. A redone classic supper club with a very cool new look. Food is creative and excellent. Small plates are perfect for sharing. the bar areas are open and inviting, great for a few drinks and snacks. Will return the next time in Boston.
The food and drinks were excellent. However, the service was a real letdown. It seems that number of staffs you have is insufficient for the number of customers.
Yvonne's just never disappoints. This was my fourth visit and the cocktails were fantastic - food out of this world - and service on point.
Great food, cocktails, and service!
Really enjoyed the vibe. The food was surprisingly good. Served Tapa sharing style. Every dish was delicious! The decor was really beautiful and creative. The atmosphere vibrant and fun!
Don't go there if you want a quiet conversation! The sound is very high. Go there for fun evenings with friends and delicious food.
If you are looking for a one of a kind experience (the whole package drink, food, atmosphere) and great service...this is definitely the place!
This place is a MUST! I cannot wait to go back. They went above and beyond and I loved everything about it! Our server was great and the ambiance was so amazing! The food was incredible and the drinks were off the charts!
Yvonne’s is like a secret speakeasy! It is thrilling, from the moment you walk through the fake barbershop into the elaborate library bar and dining room with chandeliers and fancy chairs. The atmosphere is chic and sexy, and the food and cocktails are outstanding. It was so much fun for our fancy girl’s night out!
Loved our evening at Yvonne's and would definitely make a point of returning next time I'm in Boston. Great vibe!
The food was excellent! We enjoyed a combination of small plates and a stone fired pita. Everything was absolutely delicious. Our server was friendly and attentive and had a great sense of humor! Highly recommend!
Great food and awesome ambiance. Will definitely go back.
New to Boston and this is the best restaurant we’ve been to thus far!
A Speakeasy in Downtown Boston - this place is cool, fun, vibrant and the food was awesome! Our server was very helpful pointing out items (due to a shellfish allergy) that we could not order and in guiding to have enough food but not too much. Everything tasted as good as looked which isn't easy because the presentation was just as awesome as the food. Yes, we will be back!
I am afraid that the very good food was ruined for us by the volume of the restaurant. This is the loudest place I have ever eaten. Anyone carrying on a conversation was yelling at high volume to compete with the other folks and the very loud and energetic music being played over the system. I am aware that some folks like this atmosphere and if you are one of them, I do recommend Yvonne's because it is a beautiful place and the food is excellent. If you don't like loud dining establishments, stay away.
Great food, great ambiance. Nice service!
We’ve been here before and this was a very different, and disappointing experience. Service was miserable, with inexperienced and inattentive waitress. Wine portions ridiculously skimpy for the price. Food was mostly interesting, but descriptions not very good relative to what you get. For example, Kale salad Very Spicy (consider avoiding). To top it off, they forgot the special desert we ordered in honor of my husband’s birthday. Not a place to do a special occasion. I like the food but not sure we’ll go back.
Full disclosure up front: we own several restaurants and bars. That being said, we tend to look at operations from both the operator and customer viewpoint, and that’s often hard to do.
Yvonne’s gets the brass ring. We felt welcomed and welcome during our two hour stay. Sampled 7 or 8 of the very interesting plates on the menu and were impressed. Great presentation and a really good variety of different taste experiences.
Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. Very professional and an asset to the great staff there.
Thanks, Yvonne’s for a very enjoyable, seamless evening. Your success is well earned.
loved Yvonne's and the atmosphere they provided! will definitely be coming back. The shrimp small plate was delicious. Espresso martini was best I have ever had.
The rooms are beautiful and we loved the history. We tried the small plates, the food was very good except the tater tots-the waitress recommended them but no. Cocktails were great and interesting. The room is lively and sexy. The service was great.
It was an amazing restaurant! We took my 80 year old parents and they are still raving about it! The service was impeccable.
We love Yvonne’s! It is my favorite place to meet friends and family for either a quick bite or a leisurely meal. The food is very tasteful, creatively prepared and beautifully presented. This time we popped in for a light pre-theater dinner and it was perfect. Yvonne’s is a gem and I look forward to my next visit there!!
It was good
Super amazing; loved the decor and the experience. The food and drinks were truly inspired, delicious, and novel. Our server, Matthew P. was super attentive and personable. The whole dining experience was literally everything you could ever want.
Hands down, my favorite dinner spot in Boston. The food is inventive and delicious. My date leans towards plain, American or Italian food. While the menu strikes us as “inventive” as soon as the food arrives it becomes new favorites....the chicken meatballs are out of this world. Lamb ribs were finger licking good. The menu nod to the 100+ year old original bar Locke Obers...oysters savanah are great. As soon as we saw the group dinner sized beef dish pass our table, I texted friends to join us to try that and the Baked Alaska on our next visit.
Service was spot on. They nail the best aspects of formal service while taking the attitude down to casual, not overly friendly.
The dining room is stunning, warm, polished and elegant. How they kept so many original features of a Victorian German Restaurant yet make it feel so modern....magic.
Don’t be put off by the unusual entry or the casual youthful vibe...this is serious grown up food and service.
Beautiful interior, looks like an ancient library. Food may be presented as small portions, or you can order full plates that serve 3 people.
Food, atmosphere and service was all great, but it was very loud throughout the restaurant. Young crowd and loud music everywhere. Still good experience but plan on lots of noise.
Wildly overrated experience. Impersonal service, uncomfortable seating, long wait times between courses and music is far too loud even for this kind of setting.
Food was amazing. Every bite was flavorful and interesting. Cant wait to return.
Excellent service! Kevin was knowledgeable and attentive. The variety of the food was perfect and the decor was beautiful! We left enjoying everything and would highly recommend!
I love love love Yvonne's, this is a spot that will never disappoint. Creative drinks paired with some of the best food in Boston mean that regardless of why you are here, you'll have a good time. An energetic experience both at the bar and at your table, you can be sure it will be a lovely scene here. You do get the feeling that this is the kind of place you want to be seen at :)
A great place. Good vibe. Will definitely be returning. Awesome cocktails. 😀
Arrived @ 7:30 when reservations were at 9:00 hoping to get an earlier seat, just hung out at the bar and had a few very good cocktails. Not a word or an acknowledgement from the host/hostess so at 8:45 I checked in with them and was told “we’ll do our best to seat you at 9:00”. About 9:10 we went to the other bar and managed to grab two seats, at about 9:20 they came by to finally tell us the table was ready. I’m not complaining about the lack of any early table but a little acknowledgement and communication goes a long way. They both must have passed me a dozen times in the hour and a half that we were sitting at the bar, provide a status or a heads up that the 9:00 might even be late as a courtesy at least. Good food, good atmosphere, host staff needs a lesson or two in customer service.
Enjoyed a great night out at Yvonne’s prior to a show.
- Bootlegger cocktail was fantastic, overall an excellent cocktail list
- Kale salad and oyster mushroom flatbread were both delicious. We loved sharing these choices and would choose them both again.
- The carrots were a small portion, flavor seemed unbalanced, a confusing “social plate” for $15 - should be categorized as a side.
- Haloumi cheese also very tiny and was just ok.
- Service could use more polish considering the menu prices
We will definitely be back. Would really love to see a few more vegetarian / pescatarian options next time. Menu is on the meaty side.
The ambiance alone makes this a special place and the food is every bit as interesting and
appealing. We enjoy restaurants that specialize in small plates (tapas). Yvonne's small
plate offerings are imaginative and tasty. My wife and I had plenty to eat with an order
of four plates and a dessert all of which we shared. That and wine by the glass only set us
back $115,00 (before tip). Order taker Emily was very good in her recommendations and
explanations. We would definitely return to Yvonne's, this is a really neat restaurant.
Mathew is a fantastic server! Yvonne’s is a truly unique place—the decor, the ambiance and the food. Mathew was gracious and patient as he explained the menu and the different offerings. And he really ‘made the evening’ by being attentive without being intrusive. The wine choices were excellent. Marvelous place!
This is NOT your grandparents supper club! This concept by the COJE Management Group has certainly attracted quite a following in Boston and when you visit you'll see why. From the painstaking refresh and modernization of the old Locke Ober, outstanding cocktail list and curated wine list, to the delicious tapas, they left no detail overlooked. Try to make some time to grab a seat at the bar before your reservation to people watch and watch the outstanding bartenders at their craft.
The service is efficient and polished almost to a fault. The menu is a tad bit confusing but is broken down into snacks, sharing plates, flat breads, and feasts. The portion sizes on the sharing plates are rather on the small side so you'll need to order quite a few for a party of four. If you are someone with a larger appetite be sure to include one of the feasts as part of your order. It certainly won't take long to rack up a hefty bill at Yvonne's. Standout dishes from our most recent visit include; the chicken & quinoa meatballs, the honey shrimp, croquettes, and octopus.
What a cool place to have a drink. Imagine this if you will ...friendly people serving clever drinks in a beautiful fun setting. Food was fine but make no mistake the star here is the scene.
Best restaurant in Boston!!!
Yvonne's does it again! A spectacular evening, from pre-dinner drinks at the bar to the cappuccino after dinner! Thanks to everyone for all the fun!
