The decor was spectacular ranging from brilliant chandeliers to the beautifully appointed cushioned seating. The front bar/lounge was surrounded by rows of books and the atmosphere was intimate and carried such a cool vibe. The cocktail list in addition to the wine list offered such an array of options for even the choosiest palate. The menu was a bit ‘tricky’ however as the ingredients and style were a bit eclectic. We had the pastrami toast which was a little fatty. and not that enjoyable. The chicken quinoa meatballs had such a nice kick to it and that along with the croquettes were definitely the winners out of our choices. My daughters also enjoyed the tater cubes but it was on a bed of sauce that was overwhelming. Overall however we would come back with no hesitation as there were other dinner options that we were curious about. It is a fantastic find!
The appetizers were too small for the price and the service slow
Phenomenal ambiance, food, and drinks. Yvonne’s is one of our staples and most favorite restaurants in Boston.
Thoroughly enjoyed the small plates dining under the chandeliers. Of note were the oysters, mushrooms, lamb chops, hummus and kale salad, all of which I highly recommend. The Octopus was disappointing with a green olive? sauce. It was bland, and I thought it was plain avocado sauce, but the other diners said green olive, which I am surprised as I am an olive fan. Additionally stay away from the "duck confit" pita. This could be upgraded and improved with duck breast. My drink was luscious as were the greek donuts, carrot cake & chocolate twinkie. Would have liked a larger variety of desserts, however all that we tasted were delicious. YES, I would return here again & again.....
Food was fantastic and the people were all quite helpful. If you have a group of four or more, I would recommend any of “for 2+” items. The Viper and Baked Alaska were huge and would not be for 2 people unless you wanted leftovers that would last a couple of meals. The group of four sitting next two us shared their Baked Alaska and we shared with the group next to us. It was delicious and very boozy.
We celebrated our engagement here and it was an absolutely amazing experience, I recommend ordering a bunch of their social plates and making reservations early!
Great food and service. The cocktails did not have enough alcohol, so some improvement in the drinks is necessary. Overall, very good!
All around fabulous! Would highly recommend to friends and family.
First time here. Friends said I would love it, and they were right. Super-cool vibe, and perfect for a Tuesday night reunion with an old friend, as it was quiet and chill.
The tuna whatever and the chicken/quinoa meatballs are must-haves. The mushroom dish was a little too chewy.
Waiter was very attentive at first (we had an early reservation) but, then disappeared as restaurant got busier. Food was just ok. Our last small plate was delivered probably 30 minutes after our last. We ordered everything at the same time. Same experience with the table next to us. They had to turn order back as they had to leave. Last order was flatbread which, was soggy and very salty. Atmosphere is fantastic as well as the cocktails.
Great time, good food, great service!
EVERYTHING was outstanding. Not a single complaint. A true gem. Highly recomended.
Great bar scene. Fun place with very good tapas and amazing cocktails. Super energetic and young.
I took my son and 2 friends there for his 16th birthday. The 3 of them sat at a table in the library while I sat at the bar in the dining room. The wait staff were great and the kids had a great time and really enjoyed the food. I had the new kale salad, which was great, and the hummus - also very tasty. It's the 3rd time I've been to Yvonne's and I have enjoyed it each time. Definitely worth a try.
Those in the know know how important it is to make a reservation weeks in advance. Yvonnes is where we being out to towners including suburbanites. The ambiance is exquisite and the food with some seasonal items does not disappoint The chicken meatballs are a must have, hummus is delicious-be sure to ask for more bread and the shrimp dish with rice cake was tasty. Our server recommended the lobster flatbread, a new menu item; it was delicious with nearly a piece of lobster in every bite. We will be back.
We met some friends for drinks and dinner on Monday night. I had heard how nice Yvonne's was but I was still surprised how nice it is! The restaurant is very dimly lit with gorgeous chandeliers and furniture. The bars are beautiful and long with lots of seating. We enjoyed handcrafted cocktails and many plates of delicious food. We had a lovely time and we will definitely recommend the place to friends.
Perfect restaurant. One of my best all time dinning experience.
Had dinner here before a show. Service was excellent and the food was great. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs and we weren’t able to finish it all. Will definitely return
Excellent meal, but the service was outstanding from front door to barkeeps to waitstaff!!! Will be back as often as I come to Boston!
The dishes are quite small so next time I would try their “feast” option which is a meal designed for two people. It looked very big and well worth the price! The restaurant is beautiful and our server was excellent but I did not appreciate that someone started clearing the candles from our table while we were eating. It was about 11pm but a customer should never feel rushed out of a restaurant. I’d go back to try the “feast” or just for drinks.
Great service. Amazing food
Beautiful restaurant; however, food was disappointing. Perhaps my expectations were too high, but I expected really, really good food... the kind you take a bite of and immediately think "oh my... this is yummy". The food was just OK.
Awesome vibe and very cool setting...Adams Family meets Alice in Wonderland! Better for drinks and ambience that for food.
I really loved the ambiance, and would recommend coming here if you want to have some weekend drinks in a trendy spot. Great cocktail selection, but wine list was far too limited. I enjoyed the cocktail that was a mixture of don Julio tequila, lime, cucumber, and ancho chile.
I want wowed by any of the food, but was not put off either..I found it to be better than average, but overpriced for portion size and flavors. The The king mushroom, yogurt dish, under “social plates” was quite good! I also enjoyed the octopus & chickpea fritter dish, and the garlic cheese toast appetizer. However, the hummus dish was underwhelming.
Service was better than average, especially considering how busy it was! They were attentive enough, and very friendly!
Excellent food and very cool ambiance. Very rare combo for Boston. Love it
Incredible! Very unique decor and great food! Love this place!
Took my dad for father’s day after raving about the food. I was so embarrassed. There were breadcrumbs on the seats. He was missing silverware and had to take it from an adjacent table. Our server didn’t appear to take our order for over 10 minutes and we had to ask someone to call him before he came another 5-10 minutes later. No one asked how our meal was or if we wanted dessert. Overall the service was sloppy and we were made to feel like an afterthought rather than a customer someone cared about. I have been an avid fan of Yvonne’s, but after this experience will not be returning anytime soon. What a shame
Food was very good albeit expensive. We ordered many different small plates. Sent back 1 dish (smoked shishito toast) which was disgusting, but all the rest was very good. Main concern was the entire meal 1.5hrs+, the server and buser never once cleared our dirty plates or changed our silverware and they were small salad plates. At a place like this paying these prices, we should have had our plates changed after every course. Table cleaned etc. By the end of the meal our plates were filthy and flavors were mixing all around.
Amazing food and service, and atmosphere! We went to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and we’re treated to complimentary champagne-such a lovely touch. The food was wonderful-some of the best tasting and beautifully presented food we’ve had. Our waiter Brendan was fantastic and made our night very special. Would definitely recommend and we will be back for sure!
Very cool place but food was not great and not worth the prices.
nice ambiance, quiet, we had a good time.
They forgot the napkins that I went and pick up myself, the AC was a little loud and a little chilly for me.
Always a treat to dine here. Food is great and unique. Service is impeccable. Must when we are going to theater. Before you can eat small with tapas so you are not to full to sit through the show. After theater to sit back and enjoy...and any other time as well.
great food and wonderful environment and our server was fantastic. The dining room/supper club was way to loud however. I don't much care for having to basically yell or speak in a very loud voice and having it be hard to hear one another while trying to enjoy great food. It definitely detracts from enjoying the food and the company of friends.
Very inelegant in that regard and doesn't match the aesthetic cool architectural vibe. The place should save the loudness for the bar area and give cool grooves to the supper club.
Service--particularly bar service--needs to be greatly improved! We have enjoyed Yvonne's in the past and think it's a beautiful, interesting spot--but twice recently now we've been disappointed with the service. I hope this is not a trend! We really want to continue coming here. Food is delicious but something has to be done to make timing and overall service better!!
Seeing Big Papi there was icing on the cake. A fabulous experience all around.
If you leave this restaurant disappointed, you just picked the wrong night. Food quality outstanding, atmosphere very unique but totally works. I wish we could make this our go to weekly restaurant but we are from out of town.
We highly recommend.
This was our first time at Yvonne's and weren't sure what to expect. While the meal was good, we were confused by too many themes going on; won't hurry back. It started off on a rough note---I was looking forward to one of the martinis described on the website, but the waiter didn't know what I was referring to...although he did bring me a fine drink. The food was tasty, but our table of 4 didn't think the food concept fit the vibe of the place at all. In fact, we thought the vibe was all over the place. The pounding music didn't fit the sense of elegance, the tapas style menu didn't fit the setting, and what's with the female erotica artwork all over the place? Weird. Loved the ladies room.
Such a unique Boston spot. You walk through what looks like a defunct hair salon, into a cavernous speakeasy type space, with multiple rooms. They are ornately decorated, with comfy chairs, yet feel modern, not stodgy. The food is innovative, cross cultural tapas. Everything is excellent! A great spot for occasions, foodies, and fun nights out.
