Great food and personable service. We had a mix of various dishes - the grilled fish stood out as amazing.

This restaurant is fantastic. I have never had Japanese cuisine like this before and I doubt I will again unless I travel to Japan. Done using traditional methods, it was all prepared perfectly and tasted delicious. Plus, the saké menu was a great total # of options and very well represented saké styles. Service and ambiance were lovely.

Great service, authentic unique and creative food, but a little overpriced. Sashimi was $24 and not the best compared to other places in the city. Mushroom rice was outstanding, but everything else was just ok.

The food Was good, I was disappointed with he spacial rice with special mushrooms dish, every mouth was filled with grit / sand and it was very, very unpleasant, perhaps not even healthy. I am sure the mushrooms were not washed to save the flavour, but it was like eating sand, took away all the qualities of the dish!

Excellent Japanese Food! Great Service.
Some special items (rice, chawanmushi) take a while so make sure you have time to enjoy.
Great desserts too!

I like this restaurant very much. Excellent food and service.

Portion sizes are small, except for the vegetarian tempura, which is ample and delicious. The only dish that
was less than stellar were the pickles. They were merely good.

If the prices were 30% less than they are, I would eat here on a very regular basis.

A very special experience. Small portions of beautifully prepared culinary treasures. Great service, amazing menu. Be ready to wait for food to be prepared. Expect to spend a significant amount of money. Well worth it on both counts. The mackerel changed my life.

It's in the small-plates concept cuisine trend but the food quality was exuberating! We liked the tempura dishes as it was lightly fried & cripsy without the grease. Overall, we enjoyed our meal. Best to uber there as parking is very limited.

Delicious food as always. There was a large group and the noise level was extremely loud. This made it difficult to have a relaxing experience, but obviously this is out of the restaurants control.

This was a very pleasant surprise. We wanted Japanese food but not our usual sushi. I found Yuzuki on OpenTable and we went. Wow! The dishes, which tend to be smaller items, were unusual, very fresh, and subtle. Our server was attentive and smart. I definitely recommend Yuzuki and I will definitely go back soon.

Yuzuki makes the most of what little space they have. However, that's not a bad thing. It's a cozy set-up and their food makes up for anything they may fall short in. The flavors vary from pronounced to mild depending on what you order. Some dishes are a little too understated, but that's the nature of the cuisine. The plating is very nice, too. The only downside is that they only have one bathroom, meaning if it's a full house, you may have to wait a bit.

Overall, for an artful take on Washoku-like cuisine, give Yuzuki a try. Just go to the bathroom before you arrive.

VERY expensive, and small portions make for a challenging evening. Four of us spent well over $300 and left hungry. The portions are ridiculously small, a bowl of rice is $12!!!! The best items were the misoyaki cod, and the flounder sashimi. The tofu was good, but overpriced. The veggie dishes were moderate in size and price.

As always, Yuzuki Japanese Izakaya is our favorite restaurant across the entire city of San Francisco! And being as we're three foodies who've been to most of the best restaurants across our city, that's saying something!

The salt koji preparation used for most of the small plates here makes for amazing flavour profiles and experiences! If you like exploring more than just the centreline of your tastebuds, this is a fantastic place to take foodie friends and loved ones.

This time for the first time, I tried the fermented squid dish, which (as I love anchovies) blew my mind from start to finish!!! It might look unappealing, but if you're brave, you definitely get your bravery reward here!

The best ingredients, the most unusual and pleasing flavours, the best Sake Sommelier, the best owner/Manager (we LOVE You!), and one of the best nights out you could have!

(oh and if you catch it in season - {right now!} - the homemade plum wine is INCREDIBLE!!! Love You, Yuzuki!!!

Yuzuki has "real" Japanese food, not slapdash California rolls that you get at other places. The silken homemade tofu was the best I have ever had (in many years of dining out), making for a perfect appetizer. The sashimi was excellent, fresh and tender. And the salmon and roe rice bowl was full of flavor. Although I am not a big eater, the food was so good that I wished the portions were larger.

The service was a good blend of friendly and professional. The waiter described the diverse menu in detail, helping us select between various options. And the owner stopped by to greet us and talk about our dining experience. Evidently many of the dishes are her own inspirations based on dining in Japan.

Great authentic regional Japanese that you would find in the countryside of Japan. The authenticity goes all the way to the small sized portions, so do not be surprised.

Had no expectations having just randomly chosen this restaurant off Opentable the night before a dinner with friends. But it made me look like I have such good taste. The sashimi was super fresh and tasty. Loved the homemade tofu soup. The grilled veggie skewers and the rice dishes (we had mushroom and salmon) were also yummy!

And, our server, Mina, was just the happiest, most lovely server, ever!

Consistently the best Japanese small plate fare (high end izakaya) in the city. Dungeness crab and seaweed salad is outstanding. Excellent shochu and sake selection. Chill vibe and polished service.
