Always great food and service
My husband and I went here for a nice dinner before a show downtown. The service was prompt and the food was delicious. We will definitely return here!
Best Asian food we have had in Pittsburgh! We highly recommend the General Tsaos chicken and the Island fried rice. Great vegetarian and vegan options as well!
The food was excellent and very affordable. The servers were very nice and pleasant.
Enjoyed our Valentine’s Day dinner last night prior to a show. Always amazing drinks and delicious appetizers and dinner. We are never disappointed and always make a reservation since it is always busy. The V-day decor was unexpected and appreciated.
Liked the restaurant, although found it odd and maybe insulting when my friend asked for ginger ale with her whiskey and was told that this is not a "dive" bar. didn't know asking for ginger ale made a place a dive bar.
My third time at Yuzu. Excellent as usual I highly recommend..
Our only referral was the ratings from Open Table. All four of us were delighted with our measl and overall experience. We look forward to going back again!
My boyfriend and I have never heard of this place and it ended up being such a cool place! I’m sooo glad we chose to eat here! Great food, service, and environment!
The sauces are incredible. The number of selections considering the size of the kitchen is remarkable. Our second meal there exceeded my expectations. An island of unexpected great ambiance on Wood Street
Went to Yuzu Kitchen prior to Pens hockey game. Food was good. Megan (waitress) was knowledgeable and attentive. Positive experience, although will try someplace else next time.
My husband and I are both vegetarian and didn’t struggle too much to find a meal, it was delicious! Also great selection of Japanese whiskeys.
Devious food, fairly priced with a nice atmosphere. One of my favorite downtown restaurants. Nice enough for a special occasion and priced fairly enough to go often.
Delicious! We will be back. Lots of options for vegetarians and those who are gluten free
Excellent service. Server was able to make clear, we’ll reason suggestions. Food came to table promptly. Very flavorful. Nice presentation. All round, a solid experience.
Great happy hour - $6 cocktails and $4 appetizers. This may be spelled wrong, but our favorite was the spicy karagge bao. This was our first time here. Enjoyed a fun 6:00 meal prior to a 7:30 show at the Benedum, just a short walk away.
Love this place! The food is amazing and reasonably priced.
The food was fantastic! It was obvious that they use fresh ingredients and cook everything to order. I will definitely go to this restaurant the next time I am in Pittsburgh.
We were a group of 17 people and we all loved the atmosphere and food. All dishes are delicious with the right balance of flavors.
Great happy hour specials.
Food is always excellent. One of the best joints downtown.
James, our server, was very attentive, polite, and responsive.
The ramen was delicious with new choices I hadn’t seen before for flavor “bombs”.
Delicious meal and delightful atmosphere. Perfect before a show!
Ramen is awesome. Appetizers are great. Servers are friendly and helpful, which is good because I don’t know half the ingredients so I have lots of questions. Great value too.
Great food and good drinks.
It was our second visit with one item ordered both times for the Wok menu and consistently good. The other was from the noodle menu and very good. Looking forward to next visit. Go Enjoy
Perfect service, great food and atmosphere. Would 100% recommend
This place may have a half decent happy hour, but I'm frankly amazed that they are even in business. The place almost completely cleared out 10 minutes after happy hour ended and it isn't hard to see why.
We started at the bar. Happy hour appetizer specials are very good. Drink specials used to include a decent red and white wine, but no more. Service was average to slow there, and all but one of our checks were wrong.
At the table, it went downhill fast.
- Our group of 6 sat down, only to be informed that their new policy (as of two weeks ago) is that groups of more than 5 can't have itemized checks. They can split the whole check evenly or not at all. I asked for the manager on this one, as this was not disclosed on the website or when I made the reservation. The manager did accommodate us because I refused to back down, but not until after a lengthy discussion on the matter. He basically said that all the other customers just accepted it (and thus I was unreasonable) and explained that his staff was simply too incompetent to figure out separate checks.
- At happy hour, you can order a Moscow Mule. After happy hour, there's no button on the computer for that, so you simply cannot order one. Nevermind that they have a full bar and clearly have all the stuff to make one. We didn't have a problem paying full price; but they wouldn't serve it, so we ordered water instead.
- I ordered the ribs as an appetizer. They're out of those. Instead, I did a version of bao (couldn't tell you exactly which because the menu online doesn't match the one provided in the restaurant). These were 90% bun and 10% filling at best.
- One of our group ordered her stir fry without onions or scallions. It came with both. The server did not notice or care even when it was pointed out.
Overall - this place has a serious top down problem. The manager's attitude was reflected in the policies and staff...and all of it was unacceptable.
Can't comment on the main dishes - we've been several time and order several appetizers. Salt & Pepper Tofu is outstanding. Only small negative is requesting a table in a quieter area and two times being seated immediately opposite the kitchen. Both times, we were cheerfully moved.
Shrimp tempura were great but the Ramen wasn’t anything exciting.
Food was really good, the service was slow and she wasn't very happy to explain things that we questioned, but I would definitely go back!
I'm normally not a fan of ramen, but this was spectacular. You have to get a 30 minute egg added to your dish if it doesn't come with one. I should have gotten 10. We were there for an early dinner on a Saturday and there were only a few other tables. It deserves to be packed. So delicious.
Cocktails were also very good.
Yummy Ramen and appetizers. Yuzu Kitchen exceeded my expectations. Although a bit expensive, the Ramen was very tasty. The appetizers were very good - we have the brussel sprouts and short ribs. I would definitely return.
Yuzu Kitchen is great. The food is amazing! I’ve had the pork dumplings, fried chicken bao, spring rolls, general tsos, and of course the ramen. They were all delicious and cooked perfectly. The wait staff is attentive and friendly. I highly recommend Yuzu Kitchen.
Loved my first experience at Yuzu! We originally had reserved a table (vs. bar seating) but were about to be seated at a pretty small table flanked by others who would have been super close. So, we decided that the bar looked more comfortable and would enable us to have a more private conversation. We were promptly accommodated and enjoyed the meal and atmosphere very much.
We got there in time for happy hour and loved the happy hour drink and food specials. The tofu appetizer we got might be the best tofu I've ever eaten and the bao were delicious. The main dishes we got (stir fried noodles with shrimp & peanut noodles with shrimp) were also great. Our waitress (Sarah S.) was one of the best waitresses ever and super friendly and stylish. The decor is really cool and even the regular prices are very reasonable. They even take reservations on OpenTable. I can't wait to go back!
First time at Yuzu on a week night before Gary Clark Jr concert. The ambiance was pleasant, the wait staff was great ... stopped by just enough to make sure everything going well. Food was outstanding. I got the spicy seafood noodles and my son got spicy Korean stir fry. Both were awesome and we did a decent job using our chopsticks. Would recommend if you haven't tried it.
We walked into Yuzu on a whim and will certainly be back! The atmosphere was wonderful: it felt like a posh New York City locale with great music, excellent lighting and pretty decor! The menu was large enough to give you lots of good options but not so big as to overwhelm. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was swell. I will certainly be back again!
Found this gem on OpenTable when seeking a place to eat when visiting my son and his GF in Pittsburgh. Enjoyed it the first time and returned again to find that the food and service were consistently top notch. Food portions and flavors were excellent and our waiter was attentive and not intrusive. Will definitely be back as we return to Pittsburgh over the years my son is at Pitt.
