We ate well during our vacation but this was the highlight, the best of all. If you are looking for a new spin on tacos because you love flavor and creativity....come here and you’ll be glad you did. I don’t drink and their hibiscus drink with agave and orange juice was by far the best nonalcoholic drink I’ve ever found. Cool modern open air with great music, when booking on open table it’s called standard seating...which doesn’t give credit to the vibe. If you book outdoors, your sitting in the plaza which might be cool during Thursday art night. If you’re a foodie, you have to eat here!
Great place with an incredibly creative menu - from the margaritas served in bell peppers to banana empanadas to oyster tacos to the very chic ambience - we had a super evening and can’t wait to return.
Un poco grasosa la comida, muchas cosas fritas y salsas con azucar. Pebsamos que era mas natural.
Simply one of our favorites in San Jose with great options for all including vegetarians.
I chose this restaurant because of the price point and reviews. I went with 2 of my friends. The ambiance is very nice - open with large tables and open ceilings. It was a cold night and I was surprised that they did not have any heating lamps.
Our waitress was very nice, but there was a language barrier and hence, it was difficult to order and ask for things. I asked for a steak knife two times, and I have a feeling she did not understand my request.
I asked for a red wine recommendation and she highly recommended one. It was okay - I didn't think it was that great.
I ordered their special which was called pollo del leche? It was a baby chicken that was very overcooked, hence, extremely dry with very little meat. The vegetables that came with it was cold. I was very disappointed with my meal.
My friend ordered their vegetable fettucine - I tried hers. That was good.
My other friend ordered their tuna steak entree. I tried hers as well. I thought it was okay.
Overall, I thought that the food was okay - I did not think it warranted their prices.
The cocktails were delicious and the food was amazing! The cauliflower appetizer was fantastic, for dinner we tried the scallop tostada, tuna steak, short rib tacos, empanada, and mole chicken. One plate was better than the next, highly recommend for foodies!
Amazing! Incredible restaurant with outstanding food and service. Will be back!
We had a great experience at Yumana Kitchen. From the modern, minimalist decor to the fantastic drinks served in funky “glasses” to the amazing food and service. Yumana exceeded our expectations in every aspect. I highly recommend eating here and will go again the next time we’re in San Jose. Fantastic!
Yumana Kitchen has established itself as one of the best restaurants in Cabo. Inventive cuisine and an amazing selection of craft cocktails. Highly recommended!
Quite simply the best meal I’ve ever had in Mexico. Incredible and inventive menu, outstanding cocktails. I cannot recommend this place enough, pls visit if you are in San Jose del Cabo. You will not regret it.
Siempre que vamos pedimos algo nuevo y no nos deja de sorprender. ¡Excelente comida!
Muy buena comida muy buen lugar, solo que su cubrebocas no les queda bien y lo manipulan muchísimo y no parece lo más higiénico
Incredible flavors and atmosphere. My new favorite restaurant in San Jose del Cabo.
LOVED this place. Decor is amazing and the food delicious. Cauliflower is a must and the ceviche.
Chicken was to die for too!
This place has an incredible menu for all and great environment.
Been wanting to try this new place in SJD for awhile. This trip we made it our first stop from the airport. Miguel met us and was our waiter for the evening. He was courteous, prompt and spot-on in his recommendations. We split the cauliflower appetizer, each had an amazing taco and split the tuna entrée. All of it was terrific! We were so impressed we are headed back for lunch later this week.
Amazing food, drinks, design, and ambience. Service needs some work: we were made to feel rushed to order food and drinks, despite being only one of three tables the entire night. Then when we went to pay, it took forever to get the cheque, like they didn’t want us to leave...
We dined recently at Yumana, twice in the past week because we enjoyed it that much! The first evening was during Art Walk and we enjoyed a warm greeting and excellent table service from our waiter, Miguel, and savoured a series of tasty delights. Emphasis is on fresh, quality ingredients. If the fisherman's catch isn't up to chef's requirements, it's off the menu for that day. Personally, I appreciate that. As the evening went on, we relaxed with a coffee and enjoyed the live music -- a talented duo with an engaging presentation of modern favourites with a soft Latin current.
Our second visit was the highlight of our trip to San Jose del Cabo. As another reviewer mentioned, Yumana is an oasis from the rather touristy central plaza. Again, we were warmly greeted and had great service from Miguel. The menu items we selected this time were just as delicious, beautifully presented and just the right amount. The corn soup is a must-try! At the table next to us, I could see owner, Raul, speaking with a local baker who had arrived to present dessert options for the coming summer menu. My eye went immediately to the carrot cake! It looked fabulous. To my delight, after our dinner, Raul arranged for a piece of the cake to be delivered to our table. Honestly, I've never tasted such a wonderful carrot cake. It was moist, nutty, cinnamon and nutmeg in perfect measure, and topped with a whipped, not too sweet, creamy cheese icing. I know I won't be able to match this cake at home, but I'm going to try, and try!
If you're looking for a wonderful restaurant in central San Jose del Cabo ... this is the place! Enjoy!
Fabulous find in San Jose! Interesting menu with lots of flavor! The experience was unexpectedly delightful! I would highly recommend trying the lovely restaurant!
Thank you very much for sending your review :) We hope to see you again very soon so you can try more of our menu.
From not properly checking us in acknowledging our Open Table reservation does that I got a notification we had “stood up” the restaurant, to no service ( menus water etc. ) for first 20 minutes, no order taken for another 20 minutes, too many waiters- one asked if we were ready for dessert before we ever got our entrees, they forgot one of the orders etc. to another 15 minutes messing with the check.
That being said, the food itself was excellent. Unfortunately, the overall experience in my third visit there was disappointing...
We're very sorry you had to experience this situation. We won't let it happen again and, next time you're in town, please let us know!
After doing Ning for lunch, I invited my husband’s business partners to have dinner with us. The food was superb, the ambiance is perfect for any occasion and the service was delightful. Don’t miss this restaurant.
A great addition to San Jose del Cabo. Make sure you try the cocktails. Ahi tuna tostada is outstanding, as are the shrimp tacos. Black corn tortillas are made by hand daily.
Unusually cool weather, would have liked heat lamps!
Great food and ambiance. We enjoyed the evening. Highly recommend. The corn bread desert was amazing.
Great menu, great food. A wonderful dining experience.
Exceptional service and attention from manager Miguel and bartender Eric.
We had a great time with excellent service. Prices medium to high and we weren’t impressed with the margarita served in a bell pepper, but they switched out to glasses when we made the request. The food was delicious, fresh and inventive and the interior design sleek and contemporary.
Fabulous and fresh food with plenty of flavorful choices. Excellent service and presentation. Particularly excellent choices for healthy eating, vegetarians and vegans. Located right in the center of town on the main plaza. Beautiful private patio seating in the restaurant and a few tables right on the plaza perfect for dining and people watching. So good we went back twice in a week!
The atmosphere was really nice, the Design of the restaurant very refreshing. It is a nice additional for dining in downtown San José!
Creative delightful new restaurant
All great except I only drink plain water and because I only drink plain water I asked to for plain water from the house same thing I do everywhere I go and their water tasted like it came from the street, terrible! I have never had such bad water served to me from any restaurant, not sure what water filtration they have but I dont think they had any. The food was awesome, the Tortillas they served us did not feel like they where hand made, I eat them all of the time at home and those felt machine made for sure and they where not even the good ones from the ones we sometimes buy that are made from machines. The place is awesome and its located very well in the middle of downtown.
No wine list
Poor service
Basic service levels are missing
Not just one of the best meals ever had in Cabo but one of the best anywhere PERIOD! Delicious food. Wonderful service. A must stop when town.
Cocktails are excellent, great mixologist! Food was excellent!
Very nice restaurant. Great staff, great food, and great drinks too. Try the pasta and fish.
We loved the simple, but elegant atmosphere and decor, the service was wondering, and their food and cocktails were amazing! Everything is so fresh! The tostadas are a must!!
