Local Ingredients Yumana Kitchen aims to offer a new scope when it comes to “mindful”and “comfort” food by embracing the cultural notions of the millenary indigenous group: The Yumanos. Located at the main Plaza of San Jose del Cabo and just ten minutes from Puerto Los Cabos, Yumana’s whole restaurant concept rescues the cultural tradition of this ethnic group and gives it a contemporary and modern approach. The Yumanos resided all throughout the Californias with one of their most important aspects being their ability to adapt by subtracting elements from different backgrounds; this is the core of our kitchen. We believe food can satisfy both as body and soul, that is why we look for local farmers and producers to bring the highest quality in every dish. Good concept. Maybe COVID staff issues are hurting. Low number of diners. Creative but ultimately just average food. Friendly and sometimes attentive but only average service. Lots of flies that required gale force fans (happily placed) to fend off.

We made reservations through Open Table and all the arrangements it took to get to the restaurant and when we arrived, it was not open. Really wish they had taken the time to update the software with their correct schedule.

Really bizarre mash up of flavors. We couldn’t figure out what kind of cuisine this was. Global? The sign of a confused chef is poke bowls, banana empanadas, and pasta all together on the same menu.

Modern and beautiful atmosphere with a great location right off the square. The cocktails are delish and the staff is very friendly. However, the food is majorly lacking, especially with the higher prices. Short rib tacos lack flavor and are dry, the chicken burger was too sweet, and the machaca appetizer was bland. However the banana dessert was amazing. I wish the food was better because the atmosphere is great. I would go back for drinks on the patio but not for dinner.

Food was bland, drinks were nothing to write home about, white wine came out warm, and they forgot about our second bottle of water. We couldnt get out fast enough. We were later told by our hotel concierge that the restaurant has a bad rep- wish they’d told us that before!

host was accommodating to our larger group which was the only good thing about our night here. took extensive wait times to first get drinks and then order food. took over an hour to get our food and then food wasn’t correct , steely under cooked to the point of just plain raw and the rest was cold. this place has to small a kitchen to have as many tables as they offer. it’s smaller than a home kitchen. seemed like a great option but was a poor experience
