YUM YUM by GEORGE

Iba con unas altas expectativas ya q me lo habían recomendado mucho. Pero lastimosamente no estuvo a la altura de lo esperado sobre todo a nivel gastronómico. Comida muy justa de calidad y sabor. Servicio muy bien los chicos... y el echo de tener que comer en la terraza xq en el interior no había aire acondicionado fue muy incómodo xq hacía muchísima calor, además de q pasaron dos veces el camión de la basura con la consiguiente peste. En fin para no volver teniendo en cuenta la variedad q hay en playa.

We had great service with delicious and unique cocktails. Our thai dishes were very good but the lamb vindaloo was underwhelming and not well spiced. Because the other dishes were so good will go again, but not for the vindaloo.

En cuanto reabrieron los restaurantes fue el primer lugar que quisimos volver a probar. todo super bueno y un servicio muy atento y acomodante.

We were first seated on the outside, but it was very noisy, with constant traffic passing. However, when they got a table inside available they were nice and changed us for a better table. Still noice, but definitely better. Food good, drinks ok.

Der Empfang ist freundlich und herzlich. Die Speisekarte ist breit aufgestellt und bietet für jedermann und jede Frau etwas. Das Essen ist sorgfältig zubereitet und kommt wunderbar präsentiert auf den Tisch. Die Weinkarte ist bescheiden; die Preise aber fair. Die gekonnt zubereiteten Gericht (mit Fisch oder mit Huhn) vermögen durchaus zu überzeugen. Wer eine gewisse Geräuschkulisse schätzt, ist hier genau richtig. Uns hat‘s gefallen, wir kommen wieder. Den Vergleich mit dem Oh Lala braucht das Yum Yum nicht zu scheuen!

From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed! After many nights of local food we were excited to have an Asian meal. The menu has all the must have Thai, Vietnamese & Indian options. The staff were amazing and explained everything clearly and made a few recommendations that we should not miss. The food did not disappoint & we left very happy. There’s also a great (interesting & unique ) cocktail list. This a cool & casual place, if you are looking for flashy scene look elsewhere. We highly recommend Yum Yum by George.

Once again a fantastic Thai meal ah Yum Yum. The service was exceptional and we had a great evening. Highly recommend.

I'd recommend it as it was good. But, it's not like Oh La La which is our favorite restaurant for a high end/very nice dinner.

We got there on time, they did not have a table. We waited 15 min, nothing happened, different people said they were looking into it. We left. There was the end of yum yum for us, not coming back.

Food was great as was ambience and service. Make a reservation just to be sure you don’t have to wait. They get really busy.

Overall food was very good. Very small location and ate outside was noisy and crowed.
Overall a good experience.

This bar specializes in Thai and Indian food. The menu offers a great selection at very affordable prices. We love Thai food and this was some of the best we could remember. The presentation was beautiful too. We had eaten two nights earlier at Oh Lala (also owned by George), where we learned about Yum Yum while speaking with the Maitre de. We were again amazed at the excellent service and the way that the wait staff worked so well together. This was consistent with the food and service we had received at Oh Lala, and were happy we chose to go there while we were on vacation in Mexico. The ambiance is fun. The glass-walled restaurant sits on the street corner and great for watching the street activity during your meal. We learned the owner was soon opening a French & Portuguese next door. Given what we experienced at Yum Yum and Oh Lala, the new place is sure to be a winner as well.

Some of the best Thai food we’ve ever had! The servers are also wonderful, as is the ambience - love the beautiful wood work everywhere. We loved this place so much that we came back 4 more times during our 1-week stay in Playa!

Always great...we’ve been to Yum Yum many times and it is always consistent in quality and flavour!

With all the hoopla about the place we were very excited to try it. We live in Playa for the winter and have wanting to try this place. There were four of us and none of us thought it was anything special. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't great. I hate to say this but we are at Babe´s last night and the food was excellent for half the price.

The service was excellent. Staffs are friendly and polite and all speak English. We had pad thai, salad, Tom yum goong and Thai curry, they are all good though I can't say that they are authentic. And the amount is small. It's a bit pricy but the ambiance is great: decoration and table wares are fashionable. I recommend it for a date if your date is not an Asian food expert.

Wonderful staff as usual at a restaurant by George, like Oh Lala. Luigi & Amelie d’Argen were gracious and the food delicious. We always enjoy a meal at Oh Lala and were happy to find the same wonderful quality And kind service at Yum Yum.

Yum Yum is fresh, lovely ambiance and fabulous food. The service is top notch. I would highly recommend this restaurant. One of the best in Playa Del Carmen.

It was a nice restaurant, but the food just wasn't that good. My pad Thai was ok, certainly not one of the best one I have eaten. My husband's Indian curry was bland and the amount of rice that came with it was ridiculously small. If you're too cheap to give a full cup of rice, then I don't know what else we can expect. No thanks.

Amazingly good and clean tasting flavors. The meat is a little overdone in the vindaloo so I recommend the Tom yum soup and papaya salad as well as the sampler appetizer. The cocktails were great. Most were a bit too sweet but adding sparkling water made them perfect. Another was presented in a container with wood smoke and was by far the best drink. Was called something similar to la bido or something. And we got mezcal that came with orange slices, Spivey salt and grasshoppers. Awesome experience and sitting outside.

Fue muy dificil encontrar estacionamiento alrededor. Perdi al menos 20 minutos buscando.
Queriamos seguir tomando un vino de Casa Madero, pero no tenian mas.

We've been to Yum Yum 4 times, and everything was wonderful each visit. Delicious, unique cocktails and quite the variety of tasty dishes. We recently the experience with some friends who said they'll definitely return!

Dined here for the 1st time, but have frequented Oh LaLa by George and knew that Yum Yum by George would be fabulous! Everything was amazing from the moment we were greeted until our departure! The smokey drink was an experience I'll always remember and looking forward to going back again for it! Every bite of the chicken spring rolls and curry was delicious! I only wished that I went with more than one friend so that I could try more things...next time, I'll go with a group. Also, it would be great if they post their menu on their FACEBOOK page so that people could get prepared and excited about what they will order.

The food was very good. We had Some small bites before the main course and we loved it! Home Made pineaut sauce, spring rolls, loumpia and chicken sate.
Would definitely recommend yum yum for a nice dinner. Very good and personal service.

comida estupenda!! Pero un restaurante no es una dicoteca. Bjar el nivel de la musica sea une buena idea!
