Yukashi Japanese Cuisine
Please note, counter seating is only available for 5:30pm and 8:30pm.
Chef is super friendly, I would definitely go back
Me and my gf taste the 9 courses menu with sake pairing on Valentines Day. The food is so creative in its taste, texture, combination:)
Such a unique experience – unlike any other Japanese resto I've been to in the city.
The food was excellent and fresh
True authentic Japanese meal and experience that I only had in japan.
Food was awesome! Great friendly staff. Very good experience!
Such an amazing experience. The food was amazing, the staff beyond accommodating, and the chef had a great sense of humour and "bedside manner". This isn't just a meal, it is an experience.
We had the four course taste menu. I was just super amazed. One of the best Japanese cuisine in GTA area. The four course set actually comes with 5-6 dishes, which actually make you feel enough. The owner is really friendly, good vibe, excellent service and top-notch food.
if you really enjoy sushi the hard core way and nvm the north americanized style, Yukashi is one you should enjoy. Omakese and not Okonomi, leave and trust the chef. You do not find too many such sushi place in Toronto so give it a try. The creation was fabulous but personally I would like to try more hard-cored kaiseki but perhaps next time when I sit at the bar and let it run. The presentation was delicate and well thought out. I still like to try some fundamental fish fish fish and special chef's secret sauce. Wonderful place....
My date and I had an excellent experience. We decided to undertake a 4 course and 9 course meal (intended to share each of the subsequent courses) and had decided to do a sake pairing. The entire experience was incredible. The chef and the staff were exceptionally attentive and the staff was very knowledgeable and explained each of the dishes to us.
The chef was also incredibly kind and provided us with what seemed to be extra food to ensure each of us were able to try each of the dishes and not feel stressed with dividing the portions.
I would recommend the sake pairing. My date and I were pleasantly surprised by how delicious the pairings were and how well they complimented.
In regards to the food, the food adventure was emotionally provocative and the food was never as it seemed... what we had anticipated it to be and the tastes and flavors were never consistent with the actual experience and it really made for a wonderful gastronomic experience full of surprise and wonder.
We certainly would go back and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a new experience.
Modern decorated omakase while maintaining traditional quality and taste. If you get used traditional style, this is the one you must try.
(P.S. the smoked Buri in the sashimi platter is really good)
Fabulous food, amazing and very attentive chef and excellent service. Not to be missed!
We went for my birthday and it was a fantastic experience. We sat at the bar seating which I would recommend because you can see all your dishes being prepared. The chef was able to answer all of our questions about the food and it was a great learning experience. Would recommend for a special occasion or for foodies!
Superb! Food was excellent. We had a great time! Will be back.
Experience was great. the waitresses were helpful and fun, and the chef came to personally tell us his signature dish
Absolutely memorable delicious experience - each dish was an enjoyable experience for the senses. Left feeling very satisfied.
The staff and chef were very professional and the food was amazing. Very interesting and delicious omakase straight from Japan.
Best Toro. Some very unusual presentations.
First time there, chef and the waitress were really nice. The food is good. Recommend the counter seats.
Delicious food! Definitely worth sitting at the bar and letting the chef serve you directly.
An amazing dinner to both the palate and eyes is combined with watching a master create these special plates right in front of you.
Horrible experience left starving and spent over 300 bucks .menu was very week no options
The food here is simply amazing! It felt like my taste buds were taking in new flavours with every bite. Our main course was beautiful. It was made out to represent a traditional Japanese garden. It was stunning and delicious. Another favourite was the Munk fish liver that executive chef Daisuke let us sample. A highlight of the dining experience was sitting at the chef’s table and speaking with Daisuke. He explained to us that all of the fish are flown in from Japan several times a week and some of the process that goes into preparing/carving the fish. Intricately hard work. The restaurant is a bit more brightly lit than I expected but that only enabled us to take in the beautiful aesthetics of the meal. I will definitely go back as well as recommend this restaurant to my friends.
Had no idea what I was eating because the English spoken by my waitress was way below average. However the food was excellent.
No ambiance. When we got in the front door, I thought I was at the wrong address . It did not fit the website impression i got. So many great Japanese restaurants in Toronto that easy to eat at one with great food and a better atmosphere.
I booked again for next month with more friends and family. That should give you an idea of how wonderful the experience was.
Great experience! Everything was delicious, especially the “main plate”. The chef also comes to each table to cook one of the courses (if you order the 9 course), which we thought was very sweet. You can also order a 4 course and a 9 course and share it together, which worked out really well for us!
Great Chef and food!
Got to sit at the bar, watching the chef. His work is so exact and deliberate. Memorable dishes were the soup, waygu beef with uni and four, and the tempura egg yolk. How do they make the egg yolk with it falling apart? It was still soft inside. The fall plate was beautiful. They make make leaves that looked real and tasted like chips.
I'd love to return in each of the seasons.
The restaurant vibe was amazing - the decor, cutlery, plates and even the chopstick holders were all chosen with care. Just like the interior, the food is carefully prepared and designed to not only look good, but taste amazingly complex and delicious. The staff and Izutsu-san are extremely friendly and wonderful, dedicated people. Thank you for an amazing experience, I will be back!
One of Toronto's best spots for Japanese cuisine. The head chef makes the experience so relaxing and enjoyable. He made us feel like we were dining in his home. Thank you!
Absolutely incredible. Very creative.
Although it tries hard to be a sophisticated omakase restaurant, it falls well short of the mark, especially for the prices being charged. The interior is too bright with tables and chairs that seem out of a diner. The sashimi was tough and lacked flavor. The main course which was "autumn inspired" was quite creative and tasty. The rest of the set course dinner was unique in the ingredients but fell well short in substance and taste.
Stunning presentation of food was like a piece of art! Quiet yet intimate atmosphere that chef Daisuke creates was cozy. We had great time dining here :)
Had a wonderful time at Yukashi. Food was very well thought-out to match the season, was scrumptious as well! Chef was very engaging and funny. Would definitely come back!
Great food from a master creator who has a lovely sense of humour and whose personality is everywhere in the restaurant’s fittings. Loved our meal. Super sale selection.
Lacks in atmosphere for such an expensive restaurant too plain
Interactive meal with chef and servers who are enthusiastic about the food, the regions where it came from. Nice pacing of dishes. It was incredibly fun to sit at the counter and watch the chef immersed in plating.
This has to the best experience I have ever had. From start to finish, from service to food. Everything are above expectations!
What an amazing experience. Chef Daisuke Izutsu is an inspiration. Knife skills were a show on their own and I experienced new flavours in each course that I had never tasted before.
