Sunday bookings incur a 10% surcharge and 15% on Public Holiday. Cancellation within less than 48 hours or reduced numbers prior to 5pm incur a $100 cancellation charge, reduced number of guests on arrival incur a charge of full amount of the set menu.

Yugen is one of the best restaurants in Melb. Love the food, ambience and service, all were on point. I must thank specially the staff Bianca who made our birthday night truly a memorable one.

This one star is for the terrible service we experienced. We waited literally 40 minutes before anyone came to take our order. Multiple staff members told us, “another lady will be taking your order tonight,” but no one showed up until much later. Finally, a lady came over and took our order — she seemed to be the only one actually working on the floor that night, but unfortunately, her attitude was just as disappointing as the wait. After we had dinner, we went upstairs briefly to take some photos and ordered dessert in the meantime. Not even five minutes later, the same lady came up to me and said, “Oh darling, your dessert is there, can you come and eat? We have other people waiting.” I was honestly shocked — after making us wait 40 minutes to even place our order, now we were being rushed to finish? If the service had been even remotely respectful or well-managed, I would have rated this place higher. But the disorganised and dismissive attitude, especially from the lady who took our order, completely ruined the experience and my night.

A wonderful special occasion restaurant with interesting delicious food that can be seen as art given the attention to detail - all in a very glamorous setting (reminded us of Buddakan in NYC, but better) that is not intimidating or noisy. Attentive, polite, friendly service. Treat yourself. Among Melbourne’s very best.
