We had our first anniversary here and everything was amazing. Food was great, service was good and the space was beautiful, quiet enough as well. Will definitely come back.

This was my first visit to Yu Seafood as friends recommended it. Yorkville Mall is quite a trek for me but definitely worth it. Service is great: The reception/welcome was welcoming despite the busy Saturday lunch crowd who wanted to be seated without reservations. I told the hostess that two (of my booking for a table for five) had just cancelled and she said that was no problem. Jennie, our server welcomed me immediately and offered tea and drinks while I was waiting. Jennie's service was perfect throughout the meal and she was very patient with a 5 year old and immediately brought a child's setting and made sure allergies were accommodated. My friend and I agreed that Yu Seafood was the poshest dim sum we ever had. The menu comes with a tablet to order dim sum with, large dishes - Chinese and Japanese - are ordered by the server. The food and presentation are exquisite and everything we ordered was delicious: SIU MAI (juicy and delicious), CRISPY TARO PASTRY (shaped like swans and stuffed with chicken), CRISPY GLUTINOUS RICE DUMPLINGS (shaped like pears and melted in your mouth), MUSHROOM 6 VEGETABLE DUMPLINGS (absolute perfection), CHICKEN FRIED RICE (it was a serving for a family and the three of us - 2 adults and 1 child - ate most of it). The atmosphere is beautiful, calm and quiet. No music, tables far enough apart that you cannot hear other diners. I will definitely be back for dinner soon. In fact, I cannot wait to get back to Yu's.

Omakase in a Chinese restaurant, sitting at the regular table with Chinese tea pot and cup. The next tables are eating dim sum while I’m having the omakase and sake. Totally odd feeling and not a high class restaurant should do it. They have either separate a section for omakase or not doing it!! I’ve reserved online for omakase and they have no idea and gave me the dim sum menu. Too much rice to make you full, not enjoying the blue fin tuna at all.

We opted for the bluefin tuna menu with sake pairing during the booking, but it doesn't seem like that carries through to the restaurant. I had also enquired during my booking how long the 7 course menu would take and was told it would be approximately 1 hour. However, after being sat and re-ordering, it took over 30 minutes for the first course to come out. (I had to make eyes with the server keeping tabs of the space to make it happen.) The sake pairing for the first and a few other courses also came after the course was served (and I don't mean right after the dish was down). Maybe I'm expecting too much, but usually when they call it a pairing, they show you the bottle, or at least tell you where the sake origin is (prefecture) or what it is (junmai/ginjo/daiginjo/etc). Here, I was lucky they told me the notes for 2 of them. The rest, they just said "it's stronger than the last one". On the other hand, the food and drink quality were of good value. The tuna was incredibly fresh and good fish to rice ratio for the rolls. The meal ended up taking close to 2 hours.

I ordered avocado toast , but the edges of the toast was burnt. The waiter was so thoughtful and alert, I didn’t tell the restaurant that we were celebrating my friend’s birthday yesterday but at the end they gave my friend, a free chocolate cookie with the candle. My friend was so surprised and we ask the waiter how do they know the date is my friends birthday? The waiter said he saw my friend opened a gift box which was a birthday gift . We appreciated it a lot, thanks to RH.

Beautiful location, BUT 1. Super noisy!! 2. The special 3 course Peking duck meal. All 3 courses were brought almost at the same time. NOT GOOD.. Overwhelmed with the 3 courses at the same tim e. Barely enough space on the table. The duck was excellent, but we lost the enjoyment because everything was brought almost at the same time. 3. Third course (seared sushi), not good. The rice fell apart, the duck was an afterthought on top of the crumbling rice. Sorry, we had high hopes for this restaurant. That being said they're very busy, so I suppose that's what counts.
