   Excellent service. Good ambiance. My wife's drink was quite weak. Two of the three small plates were excellent: the charcuterie and the salmon croquettes. The beet salad was not as good as it was oddly sweet.

   Best meal we’ve had in the city! The risotto was to die for, and the burrata was so fresh and light but packed with flavor. The folks tending bar were attentive, personable, and all around amazing. 5 stars!

   I was initially greeted by the hostess and she was really nice checking me in! I was then led upstairs and met by the waiter who was also nice and very informative. He gave great drink selections and food recommendations!

   Blackened beet salad was our favorite. Beets were spicy! Paired well with the chèvre. Spicy chicken dip was good, but not spicy. Sliders were lackluster and needed flavor. Could have done without the fried onions on everything. They were always soggy. Ciligiene plate was just a mess of ingredients. All pretty good on their own, but did nothing when put together. Risotto was pretty good, a little thick but good flavor. Potatoes with beer cheese were excellent!

    The food and service were great. We were seated upstairs and there were several large very loud parties up there. We couldn’t even hear our server when she was explaining things to us. There was cold air blasting directly at our table, so we asked if we could move to one of two open tables for 2 that were to the side and not In direct line of the blast. They told us they could move us to another table right behind us (which was also in the blast zone), or turn off the AC. We said we were fine with the AC off and we were, until they turned it back on 5 Minutes later 🙄. At that point we gave up and froze through our meal. If we go back, we will not sit upstairs. Everything we ordered as excellent though.

    Last night we ate at Young Hearts. We are from Durham and made a reservation for 6 to eat before the symphony. I don’t like the concept of having to put your credit card info in to reserve your table, but this had good reviews so I thought it was likely worth it. When we left Durham we hit a standstill on 40 from an accident which was going to put us getting there right at 6:12 pm. I called the restaurant to let them know and they informed me that they would give our table away at 6:15. The same table I was going to be paying for per head if we canceled. That felt a little incongruent to me. Thankfully we rolled in right at 6:13 and the staff was SUPER friendly, warm- one person seemed annoyed but everyone else was happy we made it and super understanding. When we got upstairs to our table the chairs were a bit wobbly and the noise was so loud (just from poor acoustics I think) I couldn’t hear the waitress and she couldn’t hear me. I then looked at the menu to see there were 3 total options for entrees. There were several small plates that were priced mostly in the mid to upper teens. The entrees aren’t too badly priced- mid twenties. We ended up having a beer that my husband loved, a delicious flavored seltzer, decent fried potatoes, sliders, some fish balls (my husband got those I can’t remember what they are called) and a chocolate torte for dessert. The fish balls and sliders were okay. The chocolate torte was the best I’ve ever had- which is saying something as it’s a favorite of mine. All around I don’t think we will go back. We couldn’t hear each other talking as everyone was getting louder and louder trying talk over people at other tables and truly the food was nothing impressive with the exception of that torte. If the staff wasn’t so great I would have rated it a 2. I normally only leave really positive reviews but this was a bit of a let down as out of towners coming in for a rare date night.

    Really cool place! Good food and really nice drinks! We went on a Wednesday night so it was pretty empty. Mezzanine and outdoor patio was closed so we didn’t get to “experience” the party vibes.

    The noise level upstairs was a little boisterous for our date night so if we go back would try and see if we could be seated downstairs at a booth instead. The two top table is a little small for small plate style sharing so you really are only able to get 2 small plates at a time. The food overall was good the sliders could have had a little more flavoring to them.

    My girlfriend and I met some friends for an early dinner on Saturday night. We arrived early to have drinks and really enjoyed trying their house-made spirits. The house gin and tonic and the Up in Smoke cocktail that uses their house agave were two of our favorites. For dinner, we opted for sharing small plates. The burrata with brussels sprouts, the beef sliders, and the black eyed pea empanadas were our favorites. We probably would have ordered them again if we didn’t also get dessert. We’re excited to go back for brunch soon!

    My parents (who are very, very picky) and I had an amazing Friday night dinner. I honestly wanted to order every dish on the menu. All that we ordered was spot on, 3 small plates and 1 main. We started with Burrata, roasted brussels, smoked butternut squash coulis, parmigiano reggiano, apples, balsamic reduction, house baked whole wheat bread and the Squash Risotto Roasted butternut squash, parmigiano reggiano, herbs, and Fried Red Potatoes with Mort's Lager beer cheese. But the highlight was the tenderloin with smoke tomatoes and potato souffle. A masterpiece of flavors and textures. Last but not least the apple crisp. All of the intricate components and sauces in each dish really complemented each other and elevated the vegetables and meat. The winter cocktails were warm and refreshing at the same time. The service impeccable. This is my 4th time eating here. So far every since dish and cocktail has not disappointed!

    Best restaurant I’ve been to in a while, they had empeñadas made with black eyed peas on New Year’s Day! I was almost proud 🥹. Also the shrimp and grits really reminded me I was in the south! Sick spot

    We enjoyed our NYE at Young Hearts. The drinks from the special cocktail menu were very good. The food was very good. I didn't give a five star rating because I was a bit disappointed there was no dancing. I am glad the weather was mild, we really enjoyed the rooftop open deck. One suggestion, after midnight you should serve something like biscuits and sausage to help guests absorb the alcohol.

    The atmosphere an the service was amazing everyone was so nice. Their cider was fantastic an the food was great especially the steak and mashed potatoes. It’s definitely a spot that fills up fast so if your taking someone out for dinner their I recommend making a reservation in advance.

    The worst restaurant experience I have ever had in my entire life. I was entertaining friends from DC which made the experience even worse. Some of the staff was horrible!! We had reservations at Young Hearts and the assistant manager, Kellie Murphy was extremely rude and aggressive. The restaurant called to change our reservation stating they couldn’t accommodate our party of 7 which we had reservations for and had to split our table into two tables and move our reservation back 15 min. Over the phone I said no worries on the change when we showed up we were 10 mins late to the reservation and they gave away our table. The front desk lady was so nice and said we could wait and we waited at the bar. The assistant manager came up to us at the bar and said it would be an hour wait because we were late and was extremely rude in her response as I was trying to explain the phone call moving our reservation back 15 min and she said that was impossible they would have that in their records and to prove it with my text or email and stood there until I could find the email/text. Trying to explain that it was done over the phone and my reservation was originally at 7:00pm and it was changed to 7:15pm over the phone. The assistant manager maybe we could find a bar that sucks less and next time maybe be on time.

    Went for brunch and honestly wanted one of everything on the menu but had to show restraint! Ordered the donut special, chicken sandwich, and sausage egg sliders with breakfast potatoes. Our waiter was also wonderful - very welcoming and knowledgeable about the business and cocktails. We'll definitely be back!

    We were seated on the second floor inside - it was extremely loud. There was a party of 8 people near us and one of the guests had a voice like an ambulance siren.it really resonated throughout the restaurant. Also, the steak entree was very disappointing. The chicken entree that my wife ordered was a generous portion. I thought the steak would be too. But it looked like a small plate. The potato creation that the steak came with was excellent. The food overall was good. But felt over-priced and over-complicated
