Youma African Cuisine
Youma African Cuisine doesn't even exist anymore. I went and it was clear that the restaurant was out of business.
Restaurant closed by city for code violations!
Restaurant is closed down. Remove from open table
The food is really good. The space is a bit seedy but some restaurants are beautiful and serve boring cuisine. It’s a good place to eat and the food is very good.
Wish we’d known that it’s cash only.
The food was decent but the service was horrible! Person was unfriendly and the hospitality was non-existent!
Great and unique food. But the service is below bar and cleanliness is questionable. I would order food to go anytime.
The food was wonderful. The wait staff was disconnected and seemed to struggle at giving the bare minimum of service.
Delicious Senegalese cuisine at an affordable price. The service was friendly and the decor pleasant and cozy. My husband and I went here for a date night. A pleasant find.
I dined in alone but I ended up ordering at the counter. My food came out not nearly as long as before which I'm grateful for. I've ordered the Thiebouyap a few times and it's usually a bit more meat. I had 2 pieces..the 1 was pure bone. The egg through me off since I've never got one before and I thought it came with vegetables but I may be wrong. I love the decor and chairs here. The service is always lacking. I had to go to the counter to get a to go container and pay. Bummed no to go cups n since they have lots of yummy drinks so I had to waste my bissap..great recommendation to get it with ice VS hot bc it is very thick! Overall I will be back!
The food was good. It had a very good blend of spices. The lamb was just a touch overcooked.
Enjoyed it. Very homey. Really interesting dishes. If you are impatient, or expect to be waited on hand and foot, dont bother. But if you are looking for something different, in a funky neighborhood, with a variety of interesting dishes and a novel cuisine, go for it.
Staff are really friendly,
The snapper was delicious. The grilled dibi chicken had great flavor but was cooked really hard. We left half untouched. Friendly service including edits, instruction and final drafts.
We would recommend it to friends and family.
I loved the food.
I have to admit my main reason for trying this restaurant was that I loved the redecoration they'd done with fewer tables and comfier seating.
The food was way above my expectations - expertly seasoned, beautifully presented, and definitely delicious.
The lamb for the tibi was a tough cut of meat, but sliced thin and delicious. And that cut of meat is one I've been served at other Senegalese restaurants. There were even small rings of yummy marrow.
The chicken was juicy and richly flavored all the way through.
The starches were delicious, fluffy, and just a step different.
My dining companion and I were planning a return visit after just two bites.
The portions were ample, and the food well seasoned and delicious. Our hostess was warm and welcoming. What a treat!
