Yono's Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
From our arrival, Yono's was excellent. Two of us took on the tasting option for the evening. Wow! Indonesian and exciting tastes and textures. Each dish was quite individual, but within the taste range of that culture. We leisurely enjoyed each addition and reveled in the outcomes. We will be back. The menu draws and tempts one to continue the oddessy.
My husband and I recently dined at Yono's to celebrate his birthday, and had a wonderful experience. The waitstaff was attentive and professional, the atmosphere was upscale and the food was incredible. There was also an excellent piano and bass player, which added to the ambiance. The staff went above and beyond with some extra nice touches (a personalized birthday menu and dessert, some champagne for a toast...and even a little stool to put my purse on!)
We would definitely recommend Yono's for a special occasion and would be happy to dine there again.
My wife and I met friends for dinner at this wonderful restaurant on January 20. Everything was excellent, the food, the wine, the service and the ambiance. We couldn't be happier with the experience and will be back again. If you are looking for one of the best fine dining experiences in Albany experience Yono's, you won't be disappointed.
Yono's is the only place of which I know in the area to get real fine dining in terms of service, food, and wine list. It is also not as expensive as other restaurants of its ilk at which I've dined (unless you for the large tasting menu and premium wine paring), so it is somewhat of a value. For example, the smaller tasting menus (one is neo-French and the other is Indonesian-influenced, and both include amouch-bouche and a complimentary glass of champagne) with the wine parings, along with two orders of oysters (half-dozen each) cost a little more than $200 for two before tax. And, we used a Groupon, which got us $30 off of the bill ($30 for $60 worth of food for two), so the bill was even cheaper. Definitely go.
I frequently patronize the bar cafe but only twice have is dined at the inner restaurant.
The first time we had nine people and all declared it to be excellent for both food and service.
This second time there were just two of us and our evaluation is the same....excellent food, excellent service.
Yono’ Restaurant is a fabulous, quality restaurant. Waitstaff is attentive, cordial and knowledgeable on menu and wines. Our main Waiter Adam was helpful with recommendations on our dinner choices and wine pairings.
Fine dining at its best! You will always be treated like royalty .
We went to Yono's for my birthday and it was amazing. We both had the five-course rijsttafel tasting menu with wine pairings and everything we had was delicious. Service was attentive without being overbearing, and Yono himself made a pass through the dining room toward the end of our meal to ask how everything was. We're looking forward to going back already!
Wonderful meal. Service was impeccable. We started with drinks at the bar. Generous pour and reasonably priced. At dinner we had the pork belly and also shared some raw oysters. The belly was well prepared and the oysters were fresh. We were then given a complementary small plate of scallop over squid ink pasta. For our main course my wife had the suckling pork and I had the tile fish. Both well prepared and excellent taste. Best meal I had in a long time. Hope to return soon. Extensive wine list.
This was a birthday dinner and they treated my friend like royalty. Food was excellent, light piano music played live as we drank wine and perused menu. Wine list extensive, food creative, and we were told all food could be modified to dietary restrictions.
The food and ambiance were excellent. However, although we indicated this was a birthday celebration and Yono's called to confirm that, while they did have a personalized menu for our birthday guest, they forgot to bring out the candle with dessert and have the pianist play the birthday song (as they did for 2 other customers). A disappointment given the size of the check.
We enjoyed our visit to Yono
The waitstaff is exceptional and the food was very good. We did not care for where we were sitting which was near an open door so you could hear the restaurant next-door. We will be more specific about where we want to sit next time
We dine here regularly so we know what to expect. Normally everything is perfect; however, our recent visit did not stand up to our high expectations. Appetizers, wine and dessert were excellent as always; however, our entrees were subpar at best. My wife ordered a $56 ribeye steak special and I ordered lamb which I've had in the past. The steak was of poor quality and over cooked. My lamb was very small, only about 5 bites, and had little taste. The server we started with did nothing to deal with the issue. Another employee, I believe she was the hostess, came to our table but her approach and words regarding the problem only made the matter worse. Fortunately, another long time server who knew us, Gigi, came to our table and helped to salvage the evening. The steak was removed from our bill but I am still annoyed at the overall treatment we, as regulars, received from the restaurant. We won't be back in the foreseeable future. They may have permanently lost us as customers after this experience.
