Unfortunately the experience came very short of what we expected (mostly due to the excellent reviews). The language is definitely a barrier and affects the experience! The degustation menu wasn’t properly explained, and when it came the time to get our favorite dish we found out we wouldn’t get it because we should have chosen it before hand. That was quite a turn off because we wanted that specific dish. When we expressed our disappointment they apologized but that was it. The service is also far from what would be expected for a 5* restaurant. A couple of times the waiters were having discussions in front of us. The table was never cleaned in between dishes so at a certain point I was cleaning it myself. The menu included a choice between 2 desserts and we were given the chocolate one (again without choosing it)! Apparently the other one was sold out but no one even informed us when we were picking the menu! I would not go back.

It was my parents’ wedding anniversary and we were guided to the table next to windows, where we can see the stunning night view of Shanghai. All dishes were good, specially a mango robster ceviche, a wagyu steak and a sukiyaki dish was amazing. I was so welcomed and well-treated by servers and a manager. The dinner at YONE was one of best experiences in Shanghai to me and my parents! Highly recommended.

We had a table by the window and this was a memorable experience. The quality of the food is excellent and the view of the financial district with Shanghai Tower and TV Tower is amazing.

A fantastic dining experience at YONE in Shanghai! The service was outstanding—attentive, warm, and professional. We celebrated our anniversary, and the staff surprised us with a beautifully decorated table and a prime spot with a stunning view. The food was of exceptional quality, and the tasting menu offered a unique and exciting culinary journey. The ambiance and skyline views were simply unbeatable. Highly recommended!
