Lovely Sunday brunch after a yoga class at the garden. I was thrilled that the special for the day was vegan, as was the soup of the day. I had the special—sweet potato topped very generously with walnut chorizo, avocado, cashew queso, mushrooms and more. It was so delicious, I could not have asked for a better meal. My friend had the huevos rancheros, which she loved. The room was flooded with sunshine and when we left we smelled fragrant blossoms beginning to emerge. A
Lovely setting in the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Staff very professional and friendly and attentive. Great food made with many unusual heirloom ingredients. We shared Polenta fries, a huge portion of fried thick sliced heirloom polenta w a homemade tomato ketchup. Great burger with kale chips. Super fried chicken with a dropper bottle to serve the jalapeño honey. We really enjoyed the rose and beer. Served at perfect temperatures and great glassware
Outstanding service and food. The yogurt/chia bowl was the best coconut yogurt I’ve ever had. My daughter and I split the French Toast and a daily special Lobster with Grits, both outstanding. A lot of food! Waiter was so sweet, he answered all of my questions with a smile.
Food was good but quite pricey. Servers were very nice. No garden view because there is construction going on outside (in the lily pond area) so they've covered the windows in opaque paper.
Wonderful. Liked the view, food, service, seats, choices.
Although I gave a good review, there were problems which I think the restaurant should address. For one thing, somewhere in your literature, it should state the the entrance to the Gardens has to be paid if you want to go to the restaurant. It cost a lot more than it used to, and it is something to consider when deciding whether or not to go to t he restaurant....then, especially due to the construction, signs should make it clear where the restaurant is. I was with a man who has a lot of trouble walking, and trying to get to the venue while continually being blocked by construction, did not work at all well...we would come to signs for food, but the signs would point in several directions....this was really getting so upsetting, that it was spoiling our meal when we finally found the place. Staff was very nice...someone came out to get us as we were stranded behind barriers from construction.....you should make it easier for customers....this was really a harrowing experience. Thank you.
Great food, service, atmosphere and value
Having brunch on Sunday morning was a very pleasant surprise. We had never dined at Yellow Magnolia before. The brunch menu sections were varied and excellent. My granddaughter (5 yrs old) found a favorite and my daughter found a delicious, creative vegan dish. There were wonderful items for me and my husband. We were delighted with the casual and "outdoors" ambience looking over the BBG grounds. Although the Cafe's tables filled up, tables were far enough apart that it felt relatively quiet, aiding my husband to hear us. Thank you to our considerate wait-person! Delightful experience.
Delicious brunch selections (salmon with creme freshe on flatbread) plus special soup of the day.
A lovely, special experience in a one of a kind setting, especially on a sunny day. The server recommended the huevos rancheros, and they were divine. (She was so persuasive I forgot I thought I didn't like poached eggs! :-) She was so right.)
I want to give kudos to our server. He was knowledgeable, gracious and a real problem solver. This was my second visit and I will be teturning.
THE SOUP WAS UNBELIEVABLE XX APPLE CIDER GREAT::::: THE FRYS GOOD
Fantastic food and friendly staff
Interesting menu. Service not so attentive. A little stark and dated looking decor.
Food is good.
Staff often seem irritable or on edge.
A delicious lunch in a beautiful location and a warm welcoming atmosphere. Our server was respectful and worked around me and my guest's heart-to-heart, catch-up conversation.
Beautiful setting. Would love to experience it in all four seasons. Food was delicious, service warm and friendly and we were able to linger over brunch, not made to feel rushed.
My experience was good thank you for a good service
Incredible. The baby purple mustard green salad was a huge magical mountain of flavors, colors and textures. The quite tasty Catskill Salmon was served so one could eat it as a sandwich or not. The Challah French Toast was heavenly. The wait staff worked together so that service was excellent. The view of the garden was a panorama of fall colors. Altogether delightful.
Fresh and healthy meal options with very attentive service!
The service was fabulous. Loved the view of the garden from my table and the food delicious. Must order the biscuits! 😋
So glad to discover that the old BBG store has been converted to a wonderful cafe! Drinks, brunch menu and service were outstanding! Tables were not cramped and with the skylights, had natural light and view of the garden. Highly recommended!
The food was delicious - there were four of us, and we shared two biscuits (excellent) and each had the carrot soup (also excellent) as well as sharing mushroom tacos; the tacos come in there’s but two per person was more than enough so we were happy we shared. The only downside was that it was a cold, rainy day and the A/C was on! We were told the Garden controls the temperature and that the heat doesn’t come on until Nov. 15, which is when the A/C goes off! The waiter said he couldn’t even adjust the A/C so that it wasn’t so cold. Also, there was a leak from one of the windows overhead which was a problem, but the waiter did offer to move us.
Perfect location to enjoy friends; new guests complimented the menu. Service was near-perfect. Will look forward to next visit.
My brother’s birthday. Lovely. Perfect. So relaxing. Wonderful food and decor. Unsurpassed view of the lily ponds. Amazing place to bring out of town visitors. Loved it.
I had the Reuben sandwich and it was delicious and the biscuit appetizer was perfect. Friendly staff, pretty room, and good portions of food. Only disappointment was don't expect Open Table to return your phone call. I have a special pique about businesses who won't let you talk to a human being.
Lovely restaurant in Brooklyn Botanical Garden. Nice choices on menu. Charming waitstaff.
Wait staff was wonderful! Really lovely brunch experience. Delicious food. Thank you, Magnolia, for helping make a visit to BBG even more memorable!
This was an outstanding experience. I was meeting a former colleague and wanted something close to home. This was my first visit to Yellow Magnolia so I was a little unsure of what we would find. Well, we were both very impressed with the ambiance, the food, the service. You are a winner!
This place was so cute, I loved it. A great little part of our day at the gardens.
We had no idea you couldn't visit this restaurant without paying for admission to the botanical gardens. we talked to them on the phone 3 times changing the reservation and no one said a thing. So the cost was unexpected and significant. VERY frustrating.
Service is quite slow but ambiance is great.
We had a fantastic brunch with our family this weekend. The food was delicious and ambience wonderful. Great vegetarian options. The restaurant was not only tolerant but seemed supportive of our two toddlers joining us. We will return.
Enjoyed a delicious Sunday brunch here. I love the menu; Food and drinks were delicious and gourmet. I would visit again and would recommend to all. Service 5 star!
Gorgeous restaurant, beautiful ambiance, fresh, flavorful food, and exquisite service. It was perfect for my birthday brunch!
What a treasure! Delicious food with a view of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.
Lovely menu, fresh food brilliantly prepared. Prices affordable. Requested quiet table for business in a cool part of the café. Wait service was pleasant.
Have been several times and never disappoints with inventive fare utilizing seasonal fare prepared with creative flair. And of course have to have the polenta fries. Perfect whether at the BBG or sought out on it's own.
My daughter and I enjoyed everything about our lunch. The space is lovely and our meal was delicious. We ordered the fire-roasted broccoli, the red dent polenta fries, the fried chicken plate, and the baby purple mustard green salad with steak. The spritz and a glass of rose, too. Everything was well prepared and served to us in a reasonable amount of time by a lovely young man. My only suggestion is to change up the menu every so often--maybe "seasonally?--as it is a challenge to dine at the Cafe on a regular basis because the menu never seems to change. That said, I do like your veggie-centric offerings. Thank you.
My only real problem is that we had reservations for a 4:45pm table and the kitchen closes at 5pm. The Hostess very unfriendly and stressed this. Then why do they have a 4:45pm option if you must sit, decide and eat in 15 minutes? Just have a 4:30pm option only then. Our waiter was outstanding though he made up for the hostess bad customer service attitude.
our wait person (Evelyn???) was super my friend has a demanding diet and she was so patient including bringing her soup well into the order. the food was outstanding - i could not eat it all (chicken) so boxed it up only difficulty was it was brunch on sunday so lots of families most of whom had children and most of whom tolerated their children to run around the tables, banging into the back of my chair, screaming etc. while it is delightful that families now go out tous ensemble and there is nothing that you, as an establishment can do, realistically, to monitor this, , it does mitigate enjoyment for 89 year olds like me guess i will come again when school opens for lunch! otherwise - a real addition to brooklyn's table.
