Ye Olde Punchbowl Inn is certainly Ye Olde, even by the standards of British country pubs. The building has been there for at least 700 years – nobody knows exactly how long it has stood on what is now Ludlow Road – and has been a pub since 1740, serving the traveller, the public of Bridgnorth and all others who entered their doors. The menu now is classically British, with a full AGA carvery, a gastro menu and a full wine list that takes in the best of local ingredients.     Please note we welcome outdoor dining when our gardens are available. We guarantee the use of our gardens on Sunday to everybody. If we have an event on such as a wedding, these clients have paid exclusivity for this and you will be denied access should an event take place the day you intend to visit us.     Our first time and definitely not the last, what a little gem this place is. With its quintessential layout and decor, allowing for intimate peaceful gatherings it is perfect. We were having lunch on a weekday but the full carvery was at our service which had an excellent choice, the meat was so tender, it melted in the mouth. Followed by a gorgeous portion of old fashioned home made treacle sponge, none of this tiny portion heated in a microwave, this was a true pudding. Thank you we will be back.

    A special thanks to Mr Adam Giles and staff for making our evening at Ye Olde Punch Bowl such an exceptional one. The food was delicious and service was first class. We had a carvery with with a great selection of meats and fresh vegetables, finished off with delicious trifle desserts. It made our drive through fog and freezing conditions well worth while.     Our last visit March 2022 was fantastic, we always rated you as the best carvery. Unfortunately this time we were dissapointed, the roast potatoes were pale and dry, lacking freshness. It just wasn't the standard we expected or certainly been served before. Had to wait in the car when cold as we found you don't open the door until last minute the exact time our table was booked.

    Great service from staff fantastic food carvery can honestly say best carvery by far that iv ever had and believe me I tried them all all fresh produce no frozen at all compliments to staff and chef highly recommend and will be definitely be back for Valentine’s nite 😊😊

    We really enjoyed everything at the punch bowl food was lovely Waiting staff were friendly Only downfall was the guy serving the carvery was a little bit misrable could of smiled abit but overall a fantastic night out and will deffo be returning

    Food was good and the waitress was welcoming and very helpful in finding us a table away from the loudspeaker. Have eaten at Ye Olde Punchbowl Inn on many occasions and if its a Carvery you are looking for you should be reasonably satisfied with the food and service.

    great quality food- could have one more person helping on the food counter to help move things along at busy times which is always! in need of a little up date inside perhaps but not to take character away. fantastic value overall

    Delicious food and a good choice. Friendly attentive staff. Only reason for not rating outstanding was that the only dessert we would have chosen was off the menu but that is only a minor comment, probably did my husband a favour saving him the calories!!

    We were quite excited to go back, for a decent meal but were disappointed once again with the vegetables, we should have complained but had company and didn’t want to make him feel uncomfortable. Meat was very tasty, but let down by the roast potatoes and lack of parsnips, the dauphinoise potatoes were swimming in oil.

    As usual, everything was perfect. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent quality and very reasonably priced. I had the most lovely afternoon enjoying the Christmas fayre menu with family. Every course was delicious. Thank you.

    Had yet another excellent carvery lunch today cannot fault the carvery food. Had the chocolate cip sponge which was a little bland unfortunately and there did not seem to be any chocolate in the sponge at all. But overall great lunch

    Not happy with the service or the attitude of some of the staff. I don't think waiting staff should be stuffing yourdhire pudding then cake in her mouth whole out on the floor. Waiting male snatched my glass of gin off me when I asked him if he could remove the ice, I had ordered a gin without ice.

    Went for a birthday lunch on Monday 19th Dec. Lovely country pub with roaring fire, very cosy. Beautiful old fashioned Christmas decorations. We had carvery which was fabulous, meat melted in your mouth, veggies all cooked lovely and a great selection. Desserts were fab too. Great value for home cooked food, and well definitely return.

    Nowhere to have a drink before your table is ready. We were sat in a very large room which I guess is usually used for private functions. No real atmosphere u like the old pub we walked through. A very friendly chef at first carvery but the waiting staff where we sat were very slow. Very cold air coming from doors by bar. Would like to try it again but definitely not sit in large function room.

    We weren't overly impressed.. The welcome was far from warm. Staff seemed disinterested... Noone serving at the carvery when we were sent up. Room was quite cold and food went cold very quickly.... Poor choose of desserts... Would not return back here.... They just seemed intent on pushing the customers through, no real service to speak of.

    Absolutely loved the taste and chiice of food except it was only warm not really hot. We were eating at 12.30 so should have been hot at that time. I don't think the plates were hot enough as in the past they have been really very hot which helps to keep the food hotter so a little disappointing

    Firt time visiting the Punchbowl Inn, nice old building and very good choice of extras with the carvery!! I had lamb and a lovely slice of beef and added lots from the other choices available!! All covered in a good gravy!! Was very busy but flowed very well. Will call again.
