Food was good. Service was great. She was very helpful in explaining the food But it was a little too loud.
Our server was very nice and helpful. The food is pretty good. We had a grill platter which was enough for the 6 of us. A good neighborhood gem.
We love Yayla, and never tire of the food, ambiance, and service. It’s a favorite. Best moussaka anywhere!
My husband and I eat here at least twice a month. It is always delicious!
Very nice atmosphere, friendly wait staff. Will definitely go back!
We had a lovely dinner at Yayla's - attentive service, healthy, fresh, delicious food and wonderful dessert - pistachio gelato parfait. The noise level felt festive but quiet enough to chat without needing to raise our voices. Since no one rushed us, we stayed for 2 1/2 hours and enjoyed the visit. Would definitely go back.
The food is quite good and the service is fast and friendly. The restaurant acoustics make it quite noisy, unfortunately.
Flavors uninspiring. Lamb brought back too red and sauces for moussaka not that good. Owner was apologetic; blamed kitchen and spice challenges. We may try again some day.
The food was absolutely terrible. I do not understand why the dishes were not seasoned, at the least! The definitely did not meet the descriptions on the menu, but above that they could have just been flavorful and seasoned well, which they were not. Our server was very very nice, and so I had to give a one star just for her correspondence with us. But I would never ever go back, nor would I recommend it. They have a lot of work to do to elevate themselves even up to a food court middle eastern eatery level.
The quality of the food was very good. The food was fresh, authentic, and high quality. It did not taste generic or cheap at all - Yayla uses the best ingredients to create delicious "homemade" dishes. You can really taste the lamb and yogurt. Simply magnificent!
I've been taking friends to Yayla for a while to introduce them to the excellent cuisine and service. Our gathering of three friends to discuss some books we had recently read was made more pleasurable by the complimentary bread with tapenade and then the perfectly cooked Branzino with veggies and rice. We lingered for some tasty desserts -- I had the hazelnut torte which was scrumptious. My friends enjoyed the lunch and we'll all be back for more.
excellent home made Mediterranean food and amazing deserts
As always the food was great at Yayla's - our out-of-town friends want to go to Yayla every time they are in the DC area. We had requested a corner table to get a conversation going (not always easy, but the restaurant is simply so popular)
We love this place. The food is delicious, and the service is friendly and efficient!
This is a Turkish restaurant. Many offerings similar to other Middle Eastern cuisine - falafel, hummus, kabobs, etc. I highly recommend the appetizer and entree samplers.
This was our first visit to Yayla Bistro and will not be the last. The service was very friendly and helpful. We split a Greek salad with chicken, pitas with an olive tapenade and stuffed grape leaves. The Turkish Tea was very nice. Our waitress brought out a small teapot after refilling it twice. My wife enjoyed sipping out of a lovely tea glass.
The salad was very fresh. It was served with two more stuffed grape leaves. It was a simple dressing of primarily healthy olive oil. It could have more spices though. As is, it was very light. The chicken was grilled tender and juicy and it was a good accent to the salad. We also enjoyed the Baklava that we took home with us.
We will definitely return although we live quite a distance away. We recommend Yayla Bistro!
This place is a real gem.
This restaurant was amazing. From the moment we were greeted until the moment we left, we felt a warm welcome. The friendly waitress was so well versed and knowledgeable on the wine list as well as the menu. And the food! Oh, the food was delicious.
The only complaint about our experience is that it ended ;)
We wish we could have kept going, trying more of the menu, savoring more of the Turkish wines, and sharing more laughs with our party and our waitress.
We highly recommend!
Very Good Restaurant. I highly recommend and will go back.
We are regulars at Yayla. We like the ambiance and the Turkish-inspired cuisine, which is often creatively prepared and presented. Service has always been good and generally better than good. One of our favorite dishes is the dessert made of apricots. As we went on Valentine's Day this time, we had their fixed price, three-course menu -- appetizer, entree, and dessert -- all for $34. We thought it was a great, well thought-out menu, and the food was as tasty as always. We also enjoyed in particular a robust Turkish red wine with a name something like Dulovo Klasico.
Super luncheon recently. Food was great; rice pudding a standout. Quiet. Hurry on over!
Lovely spot for grandsons 15th birthday. The food was excellent-- all except donor kebab a bit dry. Desserts were especially tasty and unique. Waiter was lovely, friendly, accommodating. It was really fun for all 6 of us
Yayla Bistro has never disappointed me. Highly recommended.
Wonderful place for a quiet dinner.
We overstayed our welcome and the restaurant was so kind and patient.
Great service and food was wonderful.
First visit on a Saturday; made a reservation; site was helpful in directing towards the alley parking garage (where we got the last retail space!). The decor is understated and really pretty inside. It's loud and the tables are close; I'm fine with that, but mention it for others. Seated right away; server appeared (Ada I think) and was energetic, friendly, warm and helpful. Recommended a wine that was great (hadn't had Turkish wine before). Trio of spreads was a good way to try out the appetizers; enjoyed every last morsel. Two entrees -- spinach pie (large portion with a salad; nice combination) and the Saturday night special Donnor Kabob. The meat was a little bit dry (and our neighbor seatmates said that their meat selection was as well). Maybe more tomato or yogurt sauce may have helped -- with that said, the taste was great. That's what stopped me from rating a full on 5, but 4.5 is really how I feel about it. I've already mentioned to friends and planned for a second visit!
The food was fantastic. Very tasty and unique. The wine was great too. I just wish they had a Turkish background music as well. We will certainly go back.
They went above and beyond for my milk and soy allergy--very nice!
One of the most friendly and personal ethnic restaurants in the area. Parking is easy in the next door parking garage. Traffic is easy on the Arlington-Falls Church line, along lower Lee Hwy. The management and servers remember you from one dining occasion to the next. And the food is amazingly fresh, imaginative, and ethnically very special.
The lamb is very special, the Turkish coffee excellent, the brunch omelettes a Mediterranean delight, and don't forget the ethnic desserts.
A treat in a new, vibrant neighborhood. Visit the independent bookstore across the street!
I have been here several times, and this visit was no different. Service was excellent and food well seasoned and prepared. Try the mezze platter to sample many different appetizers. The filo dough cigars are wonderful. The adana is also excellent.
Yayla is a neighborhood gem! The owners treat you like family! The food is delicious, winter, spring, summer or fall!
Great food and excellent service. Will definitely return.
The food is always great. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
Excellent food. Cozy, quiet welcoming off the mean path. service is also efficient
Very nice - fresh tasting flavors and great bread. Service was very friendly and attentive.
Bread is excellent. As is olive tapanade. Had soups, grilled calamari, trio of spreads and mezza assortment . All very very good. Baklava and apricot dessert are excellent. Quick and friendly service. Will return!!
Casual atmosphere; fresh and delicious food at a good price; really tasty Turkish wine; friendly service; what else do you want? Will be going back!
Excellent meal.
It was a very nice experience. Good food, generous portions, helpful staff. Definitely recommend it.
This is a fabulous local gem with excellent food and service and a lovely atmosphere. The food is outside the ordinary fare and everything was just great. Parking is a bit dicey but we've always found a spot.
We have taken friends on several occasions and all have agreed that this is the spot for a fine meal.
Consistently great food and service. A real gem! I highly recommend Yayla Bistro. It's one of my favorite restaurants in Falls Church.
