Enjoyed a lovely business dinner with a dozen colleagues at Yayla one evening this week. The food was simple, authentic, and beautifully prepared. Like many groups, ours included vegetarians, omnivores, and foodies. Yayla did not disappoint. The tapas appetizers, roasted salmon, and Turkish apricot dessert were particularly delicious. I highly recommend Yayla to those who enjoy well-crafted Mediterranean fare served in a cozy, approachable atmosphere.
Very good Turkish food. Friendly and accommodating. Nice patio for evening dinner.
The food and the service are super, and, a HUGE benefit---you can hear your dining companions!!
I really enjoyed Yayla. It was our first visit and this place is truly a neighborhood gem!
Fabulous food that reminds me so much of the wonderful meals I’ve had in Turkey. Will be back soon!
Good food, great desserts. Excellent service. Ordered lamb medium and it was over cooked. Good flavors....
Iskender was amazing as was the service. Will definitely be back soon.
Pleasant ambience, reasonable prices for regional cuisine, very pleasant and efficient service. I will return.
Brought my family visiting from out of town. They were thoroughly impressed. Thank you for making our evening great. I have come many times and will continue to for the great food and service!
This was our first dinner at Yayla and we are ready to return very soon. We enjoyed Turkish wine, appetizer spreads and unique Turkish main dishes as well as excellent service and pleasant surroundings.
We started with the mezze platter for two which included ezme, htipiti, dolmas, falafel, and spreads. Every item was delicious, and the appetizer was satisfying enough to be our entree. The manti (Turkish ravioli stuffed with ground beef and lamb) were the tiniest ravioli I have ever seen. While more pasta than meat, this dish was also delightful. The entire menu is priced for good value, and the dining room is an inviting and calming space. I would recommend this restaurant highly.
Good food and drinks. All service staff are very kind and attentive. Consistent and would recommend to others.
So I love Yayla but my only complaint is that the main dining room is very noisy. One must speak in a raised voice to be heard across the table.
Excellent lunch menu selections. Great ambiance and extremely wonderful service.
Excellent food, excellent service, very nice ambiance.
We eat here regularly. Great fresh food. Attentive service. Nice people. Family owned.
Good food, especially the Turkish entrees and mezze and baklava. Wish they had even more specifically Turkish food. Service was excellent. Nice neighborhood spot.
In a word, superb! The only way the evening - for four of us - could have been any better was if the entire bill had been complimentary! Four different entrees, each done perfectly and enjoyed for taste and presentation. Gracious, attentive, and informative server and owners whose conversation prompts warm memories of Turkey. I have recommended this fine restaurant to many who've made it their favorite. I have out-of-state friends who visit every time they are in VA. Just go!
This was my 4th visit to Yayla and again, the staff and food completely satisfied! This time we were a group of 6 adults looking to chat and enjoy food and beverages. Yayla met every need and desire. The food is deliciously simple and the cocktails are wonderful. The wine list is not too long but totally met our needs. If i had to cite a concern it would be with the noise level of the dining room. When the restaurant is full, it is pretty loud. That said, no one had any concern with our loud group laughing and carrying on, so for us, it worked well. For a romantic date night, it might not be as perfect. Overall, wonderful! I can't wait to return!
Great waitress - recommended a dish I'd never heard of and it was delicious. Something like "manti" - she described it as Turkish lasagna. Turkish wine I tried was also good. The only drawback was that it is a very noisy place - hard to have a conversation. But I would definitely go back.
This was a great little place. Super yummy Turkish food with a Greek flair! The Grilled calamari is a gem! Perfectly grilled and served with clear herbed broth -- make your own rings?
Dined with my husband before an evening at Wolftrap. We started with a trio of dips, including hummus, which was outstanding. I had the red snapper and he had the lamb chops. Everything was delicious and the waiter was very helpful with wine selections
Very difficult to find parking place in the area so had to park three blocks from the restaurant. Also, found the place very noisy...could hardly hear the wait staff tell my friend and I what the specials were. We asked for and were moved to a booth in the bar area. That was better although the conversations between male bar patrons, bartender and concierge were so loud it was still difficult to hear my dinner companion. Food was okay, service was very good.
This is probably the best Mediterranean food that I have had in the Northern VA area. The prices were completely justified by the quality of food and service. This will be my go-to place for all of my future guests.
I met two friends at Yayla for lunch. The food was excellent. One friend wanted loves red meat, so I wasn't sure he would like it. However, he ordered the filet mignon kebabs and loved them. They were cooked just like he wanted them - medium, a little pink. I an my other friend enjoyed my favorite dish, the Branzino. We also enjoyed the hazelnut torte dessert and took home some delicious baklava.
Beautifully presented, deliciously prepared, and healthy Mediterranean dishes. We had appetizers and the flatbreads, followed by dessert. Everyone was happy! Service was prompt, gracious, and helpful. Good prices, locally owned. Try the french martini!
A favorite local eatery of ours, with uncommon and delicious preparations, very friendly and accommodating service staff, and a warm, welcoming ambiance. I love the mezza for two and the kofte especially.
This restaurant as much better when it first opened. The grilled calamari was chewy and tasteless, the tiny portion of branzino adequate, and the flatbread disappointing.
Wonderful place for family and friends....great food, great service!
Yayla never disappoints. It is a neighborhood regular for us and we always love it. The menu consists of Turkish favorites but does change a bit from time to time....One of our area favorite restaurants!!
Excellent value. Great people, good service. would recommend without pause
We had an amazing experience all around. We'll be back !
This place was fantastic! Terrific Turkish food and a friendly, professional staff who made knowledgeable recommendations. We plan to return frequently.
Lunch here with friends and we all enjoyed it, from the Turkish wine to the excellent desserts. Three of us had bronzino - delicious, and nice to have choice of veggies vs rice. Reports that spinach pie and meat wrap were good too. Shared 3 desserts - apricots, pistachio ice cream, baklava - all wonderful. Service very nice and accommodating for separate checks. Will return for sure!
Outstanding food, great service and atmosphere. A favorite local restaurant
Great food and specially the desserts !!!!
amazing and super friendly service! will come back soon!
Always great. Nice Turkish cuisine and excellent service!
Great restaurant! Went for late lunch on Mother's Day. Service was excellent. Food was excellent. We will return!
Mezzo was very good- red pepper dip, homosexuals, grape leaves. The outstanding special of beef and lamb, Donor Kebab, tender, seasoned well.
