Lots of people outside and was very noisy. We were in bistro with an elderly couple and we couldn’t hear over the outside area noise even with the door closed. Found other quieter rooms on the other side of the venue which we will ask for next time.

Had a great time with the family. Kids loved the outdoor playground and the adults enjoyed a few beverages and lunch in the beer garden. Pizza, Calamari, Olives, Falafels were all outstanding. We live be this place!

Having a lunch at the Yarra Valley Grand Hotel is a very pleasant experience where the food, service, and surroundings in the Dining Room are all very good and you can relax and enjoy yourself not feeling rushed or frustrated by loud background music.

We had taken visitors from Queensland for lunch. They loved the food and the fact we were in the Dining Room rather than the Bistro, they were very impressed with the choice of Senior meals on the menu, also the price. For people our age (70’s) the Dining Room is quiet and smaller. We had been before and will continue to go back again.

Great food and great service at the Yarra Valley Grand makes for a great night out. I’d been feeling like a good chicken kiev for ages, and was not disappointed. Kiddo had a generous serving of spaghetti bolognaise, and was pretty chuffed that it came with a drink, and frog in the pond for dessert. Hubby had the bratwurst sausages special, sitting on what looked like the yummiest bed of mashed potatoes. We couldn’t go past the chocolate fondant for dessert.

We're regulars, and generally the food is pretty good. Staff are really great. Specials are usually winners. Friday's there is live music, so the sound level (since we are right next to the music is a bit more energetic than most days but it's fine for us. Great selection of local wines (and others), and decent beers, and non-alcoholic options. Great place to have as our local.

We haven't been to this venue before. It was very quiet with only three or four tables. Very old fashioned decor which has been kept nicely. Perhaps a bit dark, but otherwise lighting was good. Service was good, and ordering was easy, but may be a little more difficult when the venue is busy. I had butter chicken curry. Very tasty. Rice well cooked and a good roti. Other meals were calamari, beef meatballs and a burger. All fine, good pub food, not gourmet.

The decor definitely reflected the period in which it was set. The food was good however much too big for my husband and myself (being seniors) and we could not finish it all. The option of smaller serves would have been appreciated. The atmosphere was also good, although it was quite loud in the bistro.

Awful, vastly overpriced food. My wife's noodles tasted of cough syrup and not much else. My "pie" was dishwater soup in a bowl with some sheet pastry lazily slapped on top. Just absolutely gross. I am very doubtful that the chefs in this establishment know how to cook edible food. On top of that I am pretty sure my food gave me some kind of stomach bug. Drinks were ok but overpriced. Service was a positive - bartenders and waiters were all very friendly and professional. Avoid this place. Eat somewhere else.

Perfect Yarra Valley venue to kick back and relax with family and friends for a meal and drinks. Staff are incredibly courteous, food is exceptional, ambience is on point with a variety of spots ranging from an intimate snug, to formal dining room, casual dining room and front of house seating. Winter is especially wonderful as the Grand is known for its open fireplaces. Come for lunch/dinner or stay for the weekend in the accommodations upstairs!

We ate in the dining room with an open fire to keep us warm. We both had the roast which was absolutely delicious! The service was great & the staff were so friendly & welcoming. Highly recommend going there & will go back in a heart beat.

Fantastic friendly young staff only too happy to help with securing a nice table for us near the fire. Great wines, good solid pub food. Generous servings. Gorgeous pub, beautiful interior and decor and atmosphere. It was a very quiet Monday night and it felt warm and welcoming. Would 100% return. What a pub should be!!

I ordered the tiger prawn pasta and it was absolutely delicious. I had ordered a similar dish at Portsea (Vic) just a few days earlier and it was very disappointing to see small frozen prawns and 3 measly clams in a dish from a coastal town. This dish at the Yarra Valley Grand Hotel put it to shame with its generous amount of prawns and pasta. Very good service and atmosphere for a Monday night too. The Chicken Kiev was very good too. We will definitely be returning customers.

Food was lovely, albeit slightly over priced. Staff were friendly. The fire was great but it would have been nice if it was restoked. We felt we weren’t rushed with our meals which was great as we had a chance to talk. Only real issue is we we were sitting near the kitchen entrance, and one of our party was seated looking into it. Would have been better if the curtain was drawn. Overall however we enjoyed it and will return
