Yardley Inn Restaurant and Bar Ratings and Reviews
I would rate my normal experience at the Yardley Inn higher. This was a bit unusual. A party was being held in the adjoining room. The movable partition dividing the rooms kept being pushed into my guest who was sitting right next to the partition. Made it annoying and loud. Service was not quite as good as usual.
The highlights of the Yardley Inn remain its location, atmosphere, and service. Food has never been better than average, and our most recent visit will likely be our last. We were looking for a light meal, and ordered from the Tiers of Flavor - basically appetizers. Fried calamari was lukewarm, with a texture of having been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. Duck Sausage pierogies were dry and flavorless, hard as a shingle and requiring a knife to part. Then there were some salmon and toast things. The tomato soup was good, though.
Still, love the view of the Delaware and the service is great. The ideal thing would be to rent a table and bring in takeout from elsewhere.
We always love coming here, but this particluar Saturday night was extremely busy. Because we had to wait almost 1/2 hour, despite having a reservation, the front desk staff was extremely apologetic and were going out of their way to accomodate us. The best part is that we got our first round of drinks free. Our meal, drinks, and service were fantastic and the Inn was decorated beautifully for the holidays. This is still one of my favorite places to go.
My boyfriend and I went here for NYE dinner. We started with the baby rock shrimp which were a great size and had just enough kick to them. That was followed by the sea bass for my boyfriend and chestnut ravioli and a neat salad for me. Plus, they had a glass option for Moscato so I was rather happy! Only downside was we were by the window, and since it was so cold outside the cold was seeping in and my feet froze. And it was really dark by the window - only the light was focused in the middle of the room.
We went to the Yardley Inn for a New Year's Eve dinner for 4 people. Our bill came to $250! We did order 3 cocktails and 2 appetizers plus 4 entree's and 4 salads (all the salads were an additional price.) By the time we added in the tip it was well over $300. I think it was way too pricey for the food, atmosphere and service. I can't imagine ever returning to the Yardley Inn due to the expense of the evening. Even though the food was good and the service was excellent I think there are better choices in area restaurants for less money.
It was our first time at the yardley inn. Everything was excellent from the valet putting our seat heaters back on (it was freezing), table by the fireplace, our waitress food and wine recommendation, manager and chef stopping by the table, to the food. Crab bisque soup was excellent! It was a perfect date night and we will be back soon.
Still a local favorite and nice location and ambience. Although I don't feel quality of food is up to its past standards. Seems to be more casual type food compared to the high quality fine dining of years past. Nice bar area. Good spot for friends get together or date night.
Please be cautious with your salt 3 of us on Tuesday had the cod with mash under the cod VERY VERY salty we are older folks and all have blood pressure issues. Looking around there were many seniors. Our one friend could not finish his food due to the salt. Always love the food BUT this was not our usual dish we enjoy.
Very disappointed with service, when we were seated drinks and appetisers were served promptly after that service went down hill. I believe we waited for our entree’s for at least an hour to come. Server and management all apologetic several times stopping at our table assuring us our meals would be out soon. Again an hour has passed. Once served very disappointed with quality of meal. Most likely won’t return!
My planned lunch treat for my friends turned out to be a miserable event. The noise level was absolutely intolerable, making conversation impossible. I've never heard anything like it in this restaurant or the many others I've eaten in over the past years. Acoustical tiles are definitely needed in the porch area.
The server we had was terrific. When I didn't like the gnudi she was willing to take it back & I got the shrimp cocktail salad instead. Best part, I wasn't charged for food that didn't meet expectations. Disappointed my dessert option was unavailable, but the sorbet & ice-cream my co-dinners had were wonderful. The wine selection was nice, but needed more choices by the glass. Seasoning of the food was well done & appropriate to the dish. Would go back to see how menu changes, but we are out-of-towners.
Thai burger was just a chicken patty -disappointed. Service was less than stellar, they were busy, but not our problem. Rest of meal was okay, but nothing to talk about. They did have the window seating we requested, so that was good, but they me tioned we were lucky, sice they dont guarentee that.
