Yardbird is our rotisserie chicken restaurant upstairs above The Dirty Onion. Our menu is small but our flavours are big. Ok, we do chicken, but our chicken is famous!

Our local free-to-roam chicken is marinated for 24 hours in lemon, buttermilk, and paprika. It is then dry-rubbed, cooked and blast-chilled to keep it juicy and finally roasted on the spit. Ribs and wings are also available, as are a choice of sides and homemade desserts. Hungry yet?

We prepare all our food in-house and service is fast!

                                              Having been recommended to eat here I was very disappointed- I had half a chicken with avocado salad... the chicken was very dry and had little taste...the avocado salad was mostly iceberg lettuce with a few slices of avocado coated in an uninspiring dressing. My partner had the chicken burger which was a bit better but given this place really only offers chicken - I thought it would be a much better experience. Staff were friendly - and service was fine.

                                              Great food and staff were lovely. The service was slow to start with as took a long time to take orders but food was out quickly. Food was delicious and good value for money.

                                              Yardbird is supposed to be a specialist chicken joint, hence the limited menu. The food was very disappointing. I had the wings and ribs combo. The chicken wings managed to be cold at the end, below room temp, but warm on the rest and very dry. Clearly pre cooked and reheated. My husband had the chicken burger which was coated in a crispy batter but so crispy and crunchy as to be difficult to eat. The rib meat fell off the bone but the sauce was bland. Fries were similarly bland. No Guinness 0 available either. Music was very loud so that the table of 10 behind us had to raise their voices to be heard which then meant we couldn't hear each other at our table. Left as soon as we could and went to the Mac for coffee and dessert. Much nicer. Won't be returning.

                                              My companion was 30 minutes late, but it wasn't a problem and we weren't rushed. Delicious simple food and lots of it. A cosy setting, good selection of drinks and excellent staff. Will definitely be back

                                              Absolutely used to love yard bird and I've never been more disappointed and will not be back! asked for a large wings and got 8 wings with barley any meat on them not one person came near our table for an hour to check on our food or drinks! When we went to pay we wer told it used to be 16 wings but now they are jointed wings so same amount and no sorry for the service that wasn't provided! Used to be very loyal customers from it opend and very disappointed
