Yard House - Kansas City, MO

This is a fun place to have a bite to eat before attending a show in downtown KC. The menu is large with many appetizers and entrees to choose from. Get there early, or make a reservation because they are super busy before shows. It was great to have a reservation with Open Table, we were taken right to our table. The wait otherwise would've been very long and we would've probably missed the beginning of the concert.
The occasion was taking mom out for dinner and a show so when one of the servers (not ours) brought over our food and tipped the plate where some grease and food fell on moms new clothes...it was a bad start to the evening. That same server apologized but quickly left, probably realizing what she did. Or, she didn’t know she actually spilled something on mom. We told our server what happened and the manager was called. He offered to pay for the dry cleaner bill and gave us dessert on the house. Mom was satisfied which, at the end of the night, that’s all that matters. Besides that, our server was great, the food was great (we had the Al Pastor and Grilled Korean BBQ tacos). Thanks to the manager and our server for being understandable and doing something about the incident
I'm very dissappointed that they got rid of their in house vegan veggie burger. Now they just serve the Beyond Meat burger, which I do not like at all.
Our waiter was pretty rude. He did get the food out quick but very short. Food was good but it was very loud
Family’s night out. Had a blast!! Our waitress was Shannon. Super patient and friendly. Awesome food and drinks as always.
Great variety and quality of food. Service was exceptional. Beer Connoisseurs Mecca
Fold was cold and microwaved and didn’t receive even a partial discount. 10 dollars would have been sufficient but to play 50 dollars for cold microwaved food during lunch was a bit excessive.
Our waiter was excellent!
We had a reservation for our party of 4. Our server was nice but it took forever. It wasn't that busy either but took over an hour to get our food. We had tickets to a show and barely had enough time to eat because it took so long. Food was very good though. I just wish we had time to enjoy it.
The restaurant wasn’t busy at all. All employees were very nice and polite. The was just ok. Didn’t feel like a $50 lunch.
First time we had been there. Will definitely be back. I didn’t rate it a five for food because the brownie we ordered was hard as a rock in the center. Otherwise it was yummy !
Great service Bandy was amazing.
This was my first time at the Yard House and I was pleasantly surprised. The name conjured up a 'bar' atmosphere; but it was definitely more posh than that.
Pretty standard downtown food. Very packed floor. Longer wait times on food.
We arrived at 1:40 and we received our good st 3:00. Food was ice cold. Took 20 mins to get our checks. Would not recommend.
Great service! The kitchen was out of hummus but instead of the waiter asking us to try something else, the kitchen made a new, fresh batch for us and comped the price since it took a little while to make it. The waiter and manager came out to explain the wait— it was our first visit but will definitely not be the last. Outstanding service.
Food was delicious, drinks were good with a wide selection. Service was very good as well.
Nicole took great care of us. She was attentive and made sure we enjoyed our experience. So much fun!
Food was cold
Good bar food and great selection of beers. Noisy
We expected noise s o that didn't bother us. Pur waitress did a great job but it did take a long time to receive our food.
We ate here before attending the Santana and Doobie Brothers concert. The food was excellent and the selection of beers available was awesome. The only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars was because our entree came out before our appetizers. No fault of the server. Just a kitchen snaffu. The server was very apologetic as was the Manager. The manager did not charge us for the appetizers, so all was good.
Out of everything I tried to order and while it wasn’t busy, cocktails took a while to arrive.
Service was good, no issues. However, food was trash, we ordered 4 appetizers and 5 meals. Fried chicken, cuban sandwich and orange chicken were over fried, they werent just crispy, they were almost impossible to chew and darkerthanwhat theyre supposed to be. Beer was good, appetizers were below average - overly froed chips and dried out dips, calamari - over fried, dry, disgusting. Only recommend if going out for draft beer, food is crap!
First visit to this location. Arrived with a 6:15 reservation for a party of 4 on a Saturday evening, and we were seated promptly. Service was very slow. It took 25 minutes from the time we placed our order until our food arrived (a salad, a burger, and two orders of tacos). Our server only stopped by our table once during that time, at about the 20 minute mark. We asked about the status of our order, and she said she responded "It should be up soon." By the time it arrived my food (two tacos, rice, and beans) was cool, and looked like it had been sitting for a while. I may give Yard House another try, but the experience on this visit was below expectations.
This was the first (and last) time visiting the Yard House. Attending a Music Hall event, seeking a nearby restaurant. Understood it to be another of many grills with main focus on multiple beer selections. Assuming (dumb me) something similar to Red Door or Martin City Brewery where we visit often, both of which have pretty good grill food and beer selections. WRONG! Service and food were among the worst we have ever had. Fast food drive-thru would have been a better, more tasteful choice at a significantly better price. Pity our downtown convention goers and visitors who choose this as a restaurant of choice. Never again!
We had a great time! The atmosphere was chill, our server was attentive, and the food was lovely.
Food and service were good. However, it took forever! We showed up and were seated by six. Ordered a hamburger and an appetizer for an entre. First, they messed up the entre and asked to make a change which was great - but was served at 7pm! We told them we were dining before a show and needed to get out - didn't seem like they could help.
Our waiter was so amazing!
Met with some friends and had the most chill late night dinner and beers and getting call caught up!
I brought my daughter who was turning 24 to a new location, she enjoyed everything. We will be back. Everyone was so nice...The only thing our Appetizers were warm and we had to wait a good long while and the cheese on our spinach and cheese dip was a bit dark on the top. Fix those and the next rating will be 100%
Hamilton pre-meal. Waitress got us out on time on a busy night.
It was a little too dark to read the menus, that even the teenagers had to use their phone light. Too noisey, so had to yell to have a conversation it felt like. Service was great, and food was great.
Food is decent quality and "interesting/creative" at a notch above normal bar food. I just find it really expensive for bar food, good quality or otherwise. It's crazy that a burger costs $15++. Service is "ok" - I have been there MANY times and every time, I have to ask - usually numerous times - for simple items like straws, napkins, etc.
I'll keep going back because it's very convenient to our local theatre and the food really is decent. Happy hour pricing helps make it more affordable.
But, especially with what they charge, I really think service could be a lot better.
If I could give this 0 stars I would. We brought a friend here for her 1st time before our event at the Midland at 730. Had reservations at 6, arrived went to be immediately seated - 2 tables she wanted us to sit at were dirty. Sat down at 6:05, took 20 minutes to get a drink order in, 6:35 we got our cocktails, were told by our server that they are severely understaffed this evening - put in our food order in same conversation. At 7:15 we have not recieved food or the other drink we ordered. I get up to find a manager to tell them our event starts in 15 minutes and we need to know status of our food, he says he will check and asks where we are seated. 10 minutes later at 7:25 he walks out and does not acknowledge our table as he walks right past. Our waitress comes over and we tell her we can't eat because our event starts in 5 minutes- waitress says "yeah we have had several walk outs tonight" We were not presented with a bill and walked out and left. Went to our event hungry and angry. 3 different parties of people in line for the event were discussing similar experiences. Extremely aggravating.
Great service considering it was a very busy night for them!
Food was great. Side salad is a big portion & not your basic small bowl. Definitely would go again.
