Yanni's Ratings and Reviews
5 of us Saturday night. I normally don’t write reviews, but this experience was not pleasing. The meal was fair at best. I love Greek style chicken, this was terrible. The appetizers were ok. The service was terrible. Our server took our order wrong, brought us one more dinner then we ordered and was surly at best. The pricing was very reasonable, but we were really disappointed and will not return.
I have now been there a few times and the service is hit and miss. This was probably the worst service ever with many mistakes and way too many apologies. While the waiters were very friendly and running like crazy, obviously short staffed and more. What is really unfortunate was that upon leaving we politely told the manager who said he knew about all the mistakes at our table and hoped we would give them another try. If he knew, why did he not personally apologize during dinner and at least offer something like a round of drinks or desert. Will still go back because the food is so good but not as often.
Six friends meet for dinner regularly and enjoy trying new restaurants. Four of us had been to this location previously and were impressed with the updated decor and with the food. The first time we were warmly greeted by the valet and the host stand staff, but our server was not so friendly. The bartender was also a warm, welcoming professional.
This time we had a much more enjoyable time due to our friendly, efficient and very accommodating server. He accomplished this is spite of also handling a huge party of probably 20 people at the same time. Regretfully, I do not recall his name.
The only downside was being seated in a less desirable back room right below a wall heater that almost continuously blew hot air over our group.
We will look forward to returning.
This was my first visit and I probably will not return. The restaurant was very noisy and service was slow. They should turn off the Greek background music or turn it way down. My Norwegian Salmon from the daily specials menu was dry. The roasted potatoes were good and I liked the baklava for dessert. Prices wth the ala carte for a salad was on the high side at about $30.
This was my first time at this restaurant and I was quite impressed. The restaurant had a feel as if I was in a Greek taverna in Greece. Our waiter, Sam, was very good and made some nice suggestions. I had the whole grilled branzino, per his recommendation, and was not disappointed. My companion had the rack of lamb and she said it was one of the best lamb dishes she had ever had. The wine list was primarily Greek and nice. I had the house rose' and it was delicious. In the end, I would highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait to go back.
Food was fine, but service was horrendous. I don't generally complain but-Forgot a wine glass but delivered the carafe of wine. Brought the hot appetizer, but never the 2 salads(asked to come at same time). Brought bread, never the spread. Salads showed up about 2 seconds before main dishes arrived, so we declined them. No side vegetables left (Sat nite at 8 pm), so substituted roasted potatoes. They were cold and shriveled. Asked for fresh and they were immediately delivered, and were piping hot and delicious. Manager sent complimentary dessert plate, and had already sent an appetizer to us at the onset cause we waited 30 min for our 7:30 reservation. Also, packed up the original salad to go (didn't ask for this), cause he felt bad. Might go back, not on a Saturday, cause food was very good.
An interesting take on Greek food - not how your mom used to make it. More upscale with different flavors than "normal" Greek food. Portions are huge. BBQ a special treat. Our waitress was new, but earnest. The restaurant is exceedingly loud - yet they persist in playing a tape of Greek music. Not for the hard of hearing. Although the food makes up for it! The sound level is not energetic - it is excruciating!
First time here and we will be back again. It was my wifes birthday and we wanted to have an authentic Greek meal. We ordered a few of the appetizers and were surprised by the large portions. the lamb was tasty and moist and everything else was very good. Our waiter Evan was courteous and helpful and treated us with respect. after the meal we had large portions of leftovers and finished the meal with a bit of uzo. We recommend Yanls to all. Milton Pam Hirsch.
We have dined at Yanni's several times since it opened and have never been disappointed. The food is absolutely delicious and they have a wide variety of options and great specials. We have received good recommendations on wine selection from our servers and the owner. The decorating is tasteful and relaxing. This is becomming one of our go-to dinner places.
We went there because our friend wanted Greek food for her birthday.
It has nice ambience, convenient location. and we heard it was good. The
restaurant was fine but nothing special. The birthday dessert was very disappointing.
It was basically yogurt and whip cream.....YUK My shrimp skewer was OK, a little bland,
but the mixed vegetables were good. I would go back if my friends wanted and possibly
try something else.
This was a 2nd visit for my husband and I. We had enjoyed our 1st visit so much that we raved to our friends about it and invited 2 couples to join us. It was crazy in there. Really noisy and our service was really slow because our server was overloaded with a large party in the private room. So while I won't go back on a Saturday at 7:00, I will go back.
We love Yianni's! Real Greek food - not Americanized. Healthy, organic food made with creativity and great taste. Our usual waiter, Bill is friendly and knowledgable about what to order. He remembers what we like and is always eager to get us whatever is best. Yianni's is our go-to for family gatherings or just when we get a yen for Greek food.
