Yanni's never disappoints. The food and the service is always spectacular.
The service was great, with minimal wait. The food was exceptional with excellent presentation.
Yanni’s never disappoints especially with food and the wait staff. Except for tonight’s New Year’s Eve dinner. I made a reservation through Open Table and the Host (a man with broad chest and Facial hair) told me they don’t have my reservation. Basically, they closed off open table for New Year’s Eve. The confusion was not pleasant. I told him I called to confirm and the person who answered said everything was ok. The man didn’t even acknowledge what I said. Although he sat us, he made me feel like it was my fault. Where it was clearly a misunderstanding between open table and Yanni’s.
There was no reservation made for me by you that night which put us in a bind. Yanni's said they have a lot of trouble with Open Table. I won't be using you again
We have never had any problems in the past., but this time there were several issues. First of all, we were there at 4:00. so there were not yet many diners. We had a bottle of wine, that was very good.
The entrees were excellent, especially the duck. However, our 3 entrees were served on ice cold plates. We tried to get our waitress and finally had to ask bus boy to find her. By the time she arrived, we had started to eat, fearing our food would soon be a cold as the plates. We finished the entrees and asked for 3 coffees, 2 baklava/ice creams and one chocolate mouse cake. Coffee arrived and it was laced with cinnamon. We sent waitress back for plain coffee. The desserts were brought to us, but no coffee, We started eating the desserts.....the disappointing desserts..dry cake, ice cream had a sprinkling of baklava crumbs. Coffee arrived when we had almost finished the desserts... and the coffee was very weak.
We may eat there again and just have wine and entrees ( on warm plates), but forget about dessert and coffee. We could have better at home.
I was disappointed with my latest visit to Yanni's. The appetizers were good, but the filet was only okay, and the mashed potatoes were dry, cold, and lumpy. Plus, an entree that expensive should have included salad or soup.
The service was excellent, but adding a 20% gratuity without my say so didn't sit well. I would have tipped 20% anyway, but it should have been optional. Overall, the value for the money just wasn't there this time.
My date and I made last minute reservations and I was surprised to get in but we had a late dinner and everything worked perfectly. Dinner was delicious and the service was excellent.
It was not a memorable meal - except the bill. The salmon (market price) was over cooked and extremely salty - the portion was also very small, which I don’t mind but did not match the price. And if you charge MP, it needs to be cooked properly. Service was slow, but not outrageously so. Just enough to be stressful when we only had an hour and 15 mins. We had to ask for the check with our entree. The wine price by the glass are exorbitant! $17/glass for a bottle that costs $22 (Sonoma Cutrer). The salad ordered was hugely oversized and comprised of lettuce. The portions need to be reworkedand the wine prices and selection improved. I am sorry to say that a favorite location may come off my list after this dining experience.
Best artichoke in town... a must. Also the scallops are excellent.
Great lamb and watermelon salad! Lavender creme brûlée was lovely. We enjoyed the Greek salads as well.
Worth every pennie! We have yet to have a bad experience, food is always great and service is top notch.
The dinner itself was great! Or complaint was on the dessert. The cream cake? was very dry and not creamy at all.
Also, I wanted a Greek beer but was told you don't sell it. No Greek beer in a Greek restaurant?
Nothing major - we will be back when we visit Albq again.
Our favorite restaurant when we are in Albuquerque.we live 160 miles north of abq
Reserved a table before a concert at Popejoy Hall down the street. Big mistake. Though the restaurant was not full, the waiter was very slow and inattentive. Never refilled our water glasses; never asked if we wanted something more to drink; never asked if the food was ok - which it wasn't, but we didn't have time to send it back to the kitchen; never cleared the dirty dishes from our shared mediterranean appetizer plate (which was the only bright spot - it was excellent!). I ordered a special that was so over-spiced with red pepper flakes that I could barely eat it and so I did not enjoy it. When paying the bill, we had to go up to the front and hand the waiter the bill with our credit card, along with several other patrons. There was no manager in sight to complain to. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Awesome food and service. Definitely going back!!
Yanni's is one of ABQ's best. Great food, great service!
Four of us ate here. Three loved their dinner. The crab cake order was not as good as expected. The lamb kabobs were super -- with rice not potatoes. Wait staff good and helpful. Will go back for sure.
Food was horrendous. Had to wait an hour for cold food. Not going back
We have been to Yanni's more than 20 times. This time was the last. Our food took over an hour and all three entrees were incorrect. Not only was the service slow and the food incorrect so that we never ate. The manager offered to discount our meal rather than comp it. Paying for food you didn't order and never got to eat is unacceptable.
Several other Patrons were complaining and leaving angry.
After making a reservation, we had to wait 15 minutes to be seated and another 15 minutes to get our drinks ordered (after waiting so long, we ordered our food at the same time). We finally got our drinks and still had to wait for our appetizer, the famous flaming cheese. When it was lit, the tag from our order was also on fire stuck to our appetizer. We were then told almost one hour into our visit, when we were told that the food my husband ordered wasn't available. We waited for another half hour and decided it was best to leave. Horrible experience.
Excellent for dinner after the theater. one of our favorite restaurants.
Great experience every time; never disappointed at Yanni's!
Disappointed across the Board! Yanni’s used to be always Excellent!! I ordered the Sea Bass... Don’t know what kind of Fish it was.. Know what it wasn’t!!
Thin strips of Fish.. Bland, Flat Flavor.. Very Dry...
Restaurant not that Crowded... Probably eight Tables.. Some were eating when we arrived.. Took 40 minutes to get Served! Much Better Choices in Nob Hill... Once Upon A Time... I was a Raving Fan..
Our waiter could not have been nicer. We sat out on the patio and the street noise was quite loud.
Food was delicious and portions large. Our service accommodated our pre-theater hurry. It was first time for us all and we definitely plan to go back.
I travel from Massachusetts to visit my family in ABQ every year; and for the past several years we have visited Yanni’s each time. Besides having the name of one of our favorite Greek performers (Yanni), my family is part Greek and we always enjoy good Greek dining whenever we travel. Yanni’s in ABQ is as good as some of the best Greek restaurants we’ve been to. Not as extensive a Greek menu selection as some others we’ve visited; but what they do serve is very good. Avgo-lemono soup is one of my favorites. I hope they stay around for a long while.
I was surprised at how much things at Yanni's have changed. This used to be a go-to place for my family but now, after last eating here a year ago (March 2017), I was surprised. Their prices have MAJORLY increased, while the portions have gone WAY down in size. It is amazing to me that a glass of wine STARTS at $12. The food was not nearly as good as it used to be and the service was decent, but not outstanding. For a place that charges what they do, you would think both the food and the service would be "very good" to "excellent." I was disappointed.
We eat at Yanni's fairly often. The food is very good and the service is always excellent.
I strongly recommend the Parmesan crusted fish. It's an unusual way to prepare fish
and it's delicious. The side dishes are always tasty--the vegetables are fresh and
the Greek potatoes are, too. Try the baklava sundae. If you like baklava and like
vanilla ice cream you'll enjoy this.
We were disappointed that our Open Table reservation had not been received
when we got to the restaurant. Fortunately, they were not crowded.
The food is exquisite. I had the duck breast and loved every bite. The seasonings were precisely to my taste and the presentation on a bed of healthy vegetables was great. The service is eager, sincere and accommodating. The ambiance is very pleasant.
The only negative is a complete lack of knowledge and concentration on traditional Greek beverages. The staff desperately needs education on identification and service of Greek wines and spirits. The service personnel are kind, friendly and willing. Therefore one can only blame management when the staff does not know what ouzo is, has no Greek wine to suggest with a dish, and has no clue what color Mavrodaphne should be. I would teach them myself for free if I were still in the spirits business.
That aside, this is a delightful restaurant and I will be back, again and again.
Love this restaurant but food was not as good this time. Salad was limp, spanakopita not fresh and a little dry, crab cake was mediocre and my husband’s filet was tough and topped w/crab(not fresh). But my son said his lamb souvlaki and veggies were delicious. Very disappointed for prices they charge.
Excellent appetizers, entrees, and exceptional service from Abraham and Gina.
The Greek food was wonderful. The bread pudding good but heavy. Should have known.
Excellent food-I forget to go there and am always so pleasantly surprised at the quality of their food-we really enjoyed ourselves and plan to go more often!
Our server Abe was personal friendly & attentive. He saw to our needs for a celebration.
Abraham was an excellent server, filets were delicious.
It has been 2 to the 3 years since my wife and I have dined there. The food quality has gone down considerably. I ordered Beef Stroganoff it was the worst dinner entree to chose, it tasted like it was cooked that morning served at lunch then placed in the refrigerator just waiting for someone to order it for dinner. That wasn't bad enough, I ordered the Blueberry Bread pudding thinking it would be a safe choice, well it probably should have been called cinnamon bread pudding, as that was all you could taste. All this for $75.00, it maybe 3 to 4 years before I try Yanni's again.
We had reservations for Valentine's day at 6pm. We showed up early and they seated us right away. Very impressive. Our Waiter arrived shortly after being seated and told us about the drink specials. I ordered a Moscow mule. More people were seated around us but they had different wait staff. The restaurant was still less than half occupied. They got their drink orders, bread was delivered, meal orders taken, and appetizers served. After waiting 25 minutes, no Moscow mule, no bread, no sign of our Waiter, we left. Worst restaurant service ever. I can't imagine what it would be like when the Valentine's day got really busy.
Cuisine was scrumptious, especially parmesan encrusted yellow sole, which has been a feature favorite for years. The fresh pita and crab artichoke dip was delicious too. Great fresh french bread with seasoned olive is my weakness and love. Prices of cocktails ($13 each) and wines by glass ($13-$18 each) was outrageously high, especially for lower end vintners. The service was brusque but efficient. For a $126 dinner (not including tip), I think warmer more personal service should be provided. Go back for food only.
The Scallops were large and tasty a good selection
