About Yankee Pier Lafayette
Yankee Pier, a bustling and vibrant seafood house, offers chef Michael Dunn's ocean-fresh seafood "fresh from coast to coast". Local seafood, sourced in accord with the Monterey Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch program, which promotes sustainable practices that are healthy for ocean wildlife and the environment, is presented with a nod toward New England. Live Maine lobsters, fresh-shucked oysters, an array of grilled fresh fish, and beer-battered full belly clams are some of the offerings, along with local produce, house-made desserts, a selection of all-American wines and a full bar.

Yankee Pier Lafayette Ratings and Reviews
We had a group of 5 women and had a lovely dinner. We were seated immediately at a nice corner table. The service was very good and if you like fish, the food was great. They offer multiple options for how the fish is prepared as well which is a great option. This is the 3rd time I've been there and will go back again.
This is one of my favorite restaurants. The seafood is outstanding especially the oysters. It is a .little on the pricey side but it is defiantly a place to go on a special occasion. But if you van afford the prices and want good seafood this is the place for you.
Actually, the food was good. Blackened sea bass and blackened catfish. The sides were nice; one of them was a giant biscuit that reminded me of homemade. The problem was the service. It was incredibly slow. We were seated for 15 minutes before anyone approached the table. The drinks took another 20 minutes. The server himself was an engaging and helpful young man, but there should have been more of them on duty
We had a good time as usual.
If you order the fish and chips you might want to get your chips from somewhere else. I'm not sure what the problem is, the fish is great but the chips are consistantly awful. If you can do great fish why can't they make a great frenchfry?
Perfect place when craving for seafood! We were really happy to get a window seat. Service was outstanding and the the food was delicious. I ordered the hot lobster roll with butter and shallots and my friend ordered halibut. Both were almost too good to share. It was hard giving up half of my lobster roll, but it was worth it for a sample of my friend's halibut dish. Originally, we planned to order the butterscotch pudding for dessert, but after our entrees, we unfortunately had to "nix" that idea. We were stuffed! We will be back for the happy hour special and we will recommend you to all of our friends! Thank you for a wonderful dinner!
Hosted a birthday lunch and was not impressed. Restaurant wasn't close to full and it was so noisy we were shouting across the table. The host and hostess were cold, awkward and unfriendly when seating our party, taking a dessert order and especially with the bill. The food was fair and they were slow to refill water and iced teas. There are much better places to go in the area.
Food was wonderful; the atmosphere was more "Saturday after the baseball game" than "business casual" for a Saturday evening. Disappointed that we were not seated for almost half an hour after our reservation time, and no one seemed to care/comment, or offer/direct us to the bar. Surprised at how small/close the tables were. It was difficult to move around. We were not expecting the noise level or the volume of children for Saturday night dining. Now, having said all that, the food was terrific! We will return, but on a more casual type of basis, and we will recommend to our friends.
The place to go for great, really fresh fish-- but wonderful vegetables for vegetarians, too-- skipped the dessert this time, must remember to leave room next visit!
Service was a little snippy at first (our server thought we asked too many questions about the food?!) but she lightened/cheered up after that.
If not for the delicious food, we won't be back again. I made the reservation but did not get a good table. We have 3 people but stuck in family section with kids even though the regular dining area have many tables for 3 available. It's the 2nd time for my family. I'll give them one more chance.
My husband and I arrived early for our reservation and got seated right away. We ordered the seafood platter and theoysters and ceviche was really fresh. I had the lobster and husband had the steak. All was so fresh and so worth it. We would go back for some beers and oysters atthe bar this summer. The service was great and accomodating. Decor reminds me of a San Francisco casual waterfront destination.
Took an out-of-town guest on a Thursday night, had a reservation, and were shown right to a very nice table in the window. Service was attentive but not overbearing. When I was having difficulty making a menu decision, she suggested the char with the preparation she thought best, and it was outstanding. My husband thought the serving size of the catfish was too small. A very nice experience. We'd return.
