three words: lobster Mac & Cheese. Ok 4 words. Sooooo good.
Went for my wife’s birthday dinner and was not disappointed. Excellent service and the lobster roll was generous and filling.
Tremendous service too. Checking in and making sure we had what we needed without hovering.
My 60th birthday dinner was great. The food is always top notch, and the server was very helpful. She recommended the butterscotch dessert, so lovely. I don’t drink, so I had a house made soda, very good. Of course the seafood was very fresh, I had the scallops. They have a large number of veggie sides that are delicious too. Try the corn.
Terrific service from Sean!
Delicious peach crisp!
The spot is a a true gem!
Our server went the extra mile for example, anything that we were sharing came to the table split in half.
He was happy to make minor swap outs for us. Timing of the courses was perfect; not rushed but prompt.
Their lemon meringue pie is one of the best in the Bay Area. Fish and chips are impeccably crisp with malt vinegar available. Cole slaw is excellent.
I was a bit underwhelmed with the wine list by the glass.
I really like that you don’t need to scream to be heard; very mellow.
Yankee salad was served on too small a plate so the trimmings landed on the table. Surprised they used iceberg lettuce, the least nutritious , cheapest base for a $11.00 salad. Fortunately the rose wine was offered at half price. At full price.... $44.00.....it would have been vastly overpriced. The entree of petrale was mediocre at best.
Had a great time, great service, plenty of attention, always checking to see if we needed anything, food was excellent, good portions
Had been here previously and really loved the halibut. The clam chowder is excellent, as are the oysters and fried clams. My last visit I was disappointed by the lobster roll because it was served in an odd, fried brioche bread (I think), sort of like French toast instead of a nice roll, and a rather meager loading of lobster. The lobster was delicious, just not enough of it. This place is a hit for seafood of all kinds and I will return to it again. Just not for the lobster roll.
Yankee Pier is always a pleasure, light & airy with really good seafood, a marvelous patio, (weather permitting) , good service...and I do love their butterscotch pudding almost as much as the fish. Worth driving through the Caldecott Tunnel into the heat for!
Entertaining out of town family for lunch. We noose selections from the lunch special menu and were not disappointed. Wonderful salads, fish enveloped in a very tasty wine-shallot sauce with broccolini roasted. We will be back ASAP.
Consistently excellent, fresh seafood in a comfortable, casual setting. Loved the Louie Salad with oodles of fresh bay shrimp. Good by-the-glass wine choices.
Say on the patio and enjoyed the evening. Great food - especially the seafood pasta.
Love the fresh, seasonal ingredients and straightforward preparation.
Service was good and friendly but not a quick as we would have expected. Food was good and fresh.
As usual our meal was superb. We love coming here for special occasions. A real treat. We not found anything that was not top notch. The carrot/fennel soup was amazing. Thanks to everyone. it was our 55th wedding anniversary.
I have eaten at this restaurant many, many times in the past. First, I received a water glass with several lipstick stains. Then ordered the sole which was delivered with the wrong sides. I sent the plate back and received my plate with shreds of fish thar resembled cat food. It was corrected but by that time my dining companions had finished eating. It is really too bad because I actually like the food but at $30 for for my meal and almost $300 for four people, I expect more.
Our service was very good. My husband had fish & chips & calamari appetizer. He said it was good. My medium hamburger was raw, had never seen a burger so raw on the inside.
Sent back, the same burger I had cut into was returned only overcooked and tough to eat.
Stellar service, excellent food, fresh seafood. Quite popular place and always bustling, an indication of the restaurant’s great standing.
I hate leaving bad reviews because I feel like everyone has a bad day.... but honestly the food was underwhelming and under seasoned. Hopefully this review will help the chef prepare for a better gastronomical experience for the next diners!
Best Fish 'n chips within a 20 mile radius. Very pleasant, comfortable environment and great service.
They did not honor my Open Table Reservations even though I called to say I would be a bit late. I eat there often but now doubt if I will go back!
Great food and great service
We liked the salads, the fish and chips was great-tender not greasy with good quality fish, nicely done fries. Had salmon filet and mashed potatoes with capers-very good. Pretty good wine list. My wine glass had to be sent back- wasn't clean, actually disgusting with old food dried on the rim. They were nice about it, but I think they should have compensated by not charging for the wine, ick. Other than that-liked the place.
It was wonderful. The bartender was so sweet and funny. Him and my husband shared jokes and he makes a great whiskey sour. I didn’t catch is name but we plan to go back because of him. Also Jamie our waitress was just as amazing. It was my first time here and loved all it had to offer
Couldn’t ask for a lovelier evening. Entrees of both sole and trout perfectly presented and well prepared. Waitstaff very attentive. Our doodle was made comfortable with a bowl of water. We’ll be back!
great night out with friends. food was wonderful, the desert's over the top ORDER THE BUTTERSCOTCH PUDDING!
Food and dining experience was superb.
Have been to this restaurant many times. It never disappoints. Awesome sea food. Good service. Family friendly. Definitely a neighborhood gem. One of our favorites
I was prepared for Yankee Pier to be your stereotypical "seafood grotto". I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered a cup of vegetable soup which was tasty, homemade, with fresh vegetables, and I followed with the lobster roll, which impressed me. It had a generous amount of freshly cooked lobster and well seasoned to boot. Perhaps a New England purist might quibble with the fact that they spiced the lobster with some scallions and a touch of garlic, but I loved it. The brioche bun and kettle fries rounded out the meal. My wife started with the ceviche appetizer, which she loved, and followed with the grilled scallops on a bed of risotto which was excellent (she shared a taste). I could not decide which dish was better. The ambiance feels like a Marie Callendar's restaurant with nautical touches, but the service attentive, helpful and prompt. They even offered a nice Spanish ribeiro white wine that rounded out the meal
We went on Memorial Day so it was pretty quiet. Nonetheless everything was flawless, from the hospitality to the service to the food. Friendly and efficient service coupled with delicious seafood...what more could you ask for!
My brother and I both had the scallops which were excellent. The side of peas and carrots was very good as well. We weren't impressed by the desserts.
Love Yankee Pier and if you are looking for a amazing Seafood dining experience this is the place!
This was the second time going to Yankee Pier and I have to say, it's not great. The service is lovely and the dining room pretty. Generally lively, but you can still have a conversation. But the food is so completely average and bland. For the price, it's definitely not worth it.
Food good; service a bit inattentive.
Great seafood and excellent service. Bar makes good Old Fashions
We had a very nice lunch with great service! Our table was off to the side so we could enjoy our conversation.
Completely overcooked our lobster rolls. Chewy and dry. As a seafood place I would expect you know how to cook lobster. Super disappointed as I was hoping to get a taste of the ones I’ve had in Maine
Four of us went for Mothers Day Sunday Brunch and the service, food and atmosphere were fantastic! We had the scallops, rock cod, and strawberry waffles! We've eaten there several times over the years, and it's always been good and Sunday it hit all cylinders!
Made a late Mother’s Day reservation and I was so glad we chose Yankee Pier.
The food was excellent, from the oysters to scallops to shrimp and all in between.
The topper was the lemon meringue pie - perfection.
Thank you for making my Mother’s Day so special.
