The food was excellent as was the service. They have a creative and delicious take on standard Chinese food.
I was hesitant to go back after the inspection debacle but was so glad I did. The place is spotless, the service is attentive and professional, and the food is delicious and served beautifully. We were friends getting together after a while so we had a lot to catch up on. The waIter was patient but right there when we needed something. Service was impeccable.
We started with egg rolls which were warm, crispy but flaky, fresh filling and delicious dipping sauces (2). I had the almond crusted branzino special with sides of roasted potatoes and a broccoli rabe like side and my friend had a delicious filet cooked perfectly. Both meals came with a side of perfectly cooked rice. For dessert we shared a warm apple tart with ice cream. The pastry melted in our mouths.
Very reasonable prices too. I will definitely go back.
I had heard about Yang Ming for decades and we finally went there for dinner. It's a beautiful restaurant and is quiet. The service is great. The food, however, is like a number of highly regarded restaurants that have been around for a long time. It was ok. I had a sense that the restaurant revolution that has gone on in Philadelphia and surroundings has left Yang Ming behind. A nice dinner but not special.
It is always difficult to be seated behind a table with several small children including a crying baby. That coupled with two entrees that were described as spicy, but tasted bland and lacking any punch made for a mediocre evening.
We love Yangming. We get take-out almost every week. But they need to keep on their toes. We went for sit-down, not take-out, and the Szechuan menu spicy beef dish was like the beef in a "soup" of spicy gravy, NOT so good as when I've had it take-out. Careless.
We like our waiters usually, but this one was sort of "out of it." Seemed confused, not sure what to do, inattentive and distracted by too many tables to cover.
The hot & sour soup was lukewarm.
They should know, quality control is VERY important.
It is an INSULT to customers to have to watch Fox News at the bar TV.
Our first visit, and we were very impressed with both the food and service. Our meals were so flavorful and had quality ingredients, from the fresh vegetables to the chicken. All had the best texture, so good that each mouthful was a pleasure to bite into. The service was friendly and efficient, with enough check-ins to make sure we had what we needed. My glass of house Chardonnay was so good I was tempted to a second. We will definitely return when in the area.
Good food and drink. Yangming would be the perfect spot to also include a delightful later - evening piano lounge or piano bar on its premises. In the middle of their dining room there is a nice piano, and it gave us this good idea, as there really isn't anywhere else on The Main Line which offers such a place .
We have been going to Yangming for may years; it is one of our favs!!!
Brought a group of 12 and was seated at a large round table with a lazy susan. Was just terrific. Tried lots of dishes. All were very good, except peking duck. Definitely gets your money's worth. Will go again when we have a bigger group.
Wonderful in every way. The shrimp with honey walnut was incredible, so was the wine.
Food and service still very good. We'll go back as long as the kitchen has no more issues.
The staff was attentive and friendly. I met up with a friend and we both cannot say enough about how our meals were both beautifully presented and delicious!
My brother and I always enjoy this restaurant, but the meal was exceptionally good this time. He had the duck special, and I had the bronzino special. We shared several appetizers. All the dishes were excellent.
We had a variety of dishes for a lunch gathering for five. The Peking duck was sumptuous, the noodle dishes were well prepared and the fillet of flounder was perfectly cooked so as not to be overcooked or undercooked. All of the sources were a bit Americanized but retained their Chinese character. Since we were gathered to celebrate my 73rd birthday we spent quite a bit of time after we were done eating but were never made to feel rushed or hurried.
Everything was perfect. Great table, great service and great food. Loved it!
We love this restaurant. This is outlet fourth time coming and we love it. The food and service is amazing.
Excellent in all categories and the atmosphere is friendly. We will be back.
awesome food. Peking duck fantastic. great service. we kept ordering course after course and put ourselves into a food coma...
Great food, great drinks, and great service!
We eat here whenever we are in the neighborhood. We had 4 friends with us this time, after a funeral, neededto talk. They gave us a beautiful small room! A round table, so nice. All food was beautifully prepared , promptly served, and a good value.
Food was not hot and when I asked to have my entree heated, it still was not close to being served hot. Ironically, the dish would have been very good if served appropriately. Appetizers also not served hot.
Excellent fresh and flavorful food! Well prepared and attractively presented food. My family thoroughly enjoyed all of our three entrees, soups, and appetizers. The service was very attentive too. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a great meal in a pleasant and attractive atmosphere.
Service is efficient and food is delivered quickly. The menu is extensive and everything I've ever eaten there was excellent, always delivered in a very reasonable amount of time, and also hot enough to taste abd smell like freshly-cooked foods. Staff is always there when you need them. I try to go as often as I can.
We try to get to Yang Ming on a fairly regular basis. It is a solid bet when you want good food and drink without breaking the bank. The service is very good, and the food is some of the best Chinese I have had in years. Go and enjoy yourself!
My two friends were happy with the quality of their selection, quantity could be better. I selected the shrimp (4 medium) and angel hair. The shrimp were overcooked and the quantity was mimimal. I would not order this again. Presentation was great overall!
Everything we had was delicious. All our old favorites crabmeat purse, tarragon and sesame chicken, and shrimp with honey walnuts.
Fabulous service! Wonderful food.
Limited wine menu by the glass
We are new to the area and we found this restaurant to be very good and not your average Chinese restaurant.
I took a friend that was visiting there for dinner and while nothing was overtly disastrous, but the food was extremely over-hyped. We ordered 4 small plates to share, and not a single one was worth the price. The Golden Crabmeat Purse was probably the best of the 4 dishes, but came with a "classy" ketchup drizzle. The Grilled Thai Chicken was a solid 5/10, the Char-grilled Satay Lamb was not fresh and tasted like a super well-done cheap steak (there were only 3 very small kabobs included on a plate), and lastly the Peking Hoisin Pork Buns were just 2 buns with hardly any filling at all. Again, the service was not an issue, but the food is highly upsetting if you're expecting something nice.
We went to Yangming to celebrate my husbands birthday. We started with the delicious pot stickers, pretty much the best ever. The wrappers are so thin, never doughy. Love them. The Yangming Won Ton Soup is so flavorful, YUM. My husband had the General Chicken always a favorite, a little bit of spice without being overpowering. I had the Brandy Miso Shrimp. Lots of beautiful shrimp in a light sauce on a bed of spinach. Just perfect, not too much, not too little. For dessert, I had the fried banana and my husband had the white chocolate cake, great way to end a terrific meal.
The hostess was very accommodating, and the waiter was extremely polite and experienced. Food came out fast and delicious. They have updated the decor and made it a great place for a special Chinese meal.
We love the Peking Duck, but they used to have someone come out and carve it at the table. Now it's just the waiter assembling the wraps. But it was still pretty good and got to us while still mostly warm.
We were celebrating a birthday with two relatives from the UK. Our guests from across the pond were totally impressed with the quality of the food, as we locals were as well. The service was efficient and jolly.
We have always loved eating here. We were very late for the reservation and there was no problem getting a table. Drinks were great and reasonably priced. Service was great. Fast, but not rushed. All of our entrees were different innovative and tasty.
Food is really very good and service also very good. The menu has an excellent variety including both spicy and non spicy dishes. The Dumpling where outstanding.
Two of us ordered the jumbo crab cake. Although delicious, we were surprised at how small the jumbo crabcake actually was...approximately 2 1/2 inches in diameter.
The person who did not order the crab cake had three times the food delivered to her for a much lower price.
Used to eating at fine restaurants, we found this disappointing.
Good food reasonably priced. Nice decor. Appetizers of crystal coconut shrimp and steamed sumai were delicious. Crab cakes were all crab with very little filler. My shrimp and scallops inlemongrass sauce were cooked just right with moderately crispy vegetables, just like I prefer, however, although the sauce was very light, there was no lemongrass flavor. The shrimp with black bean sauce in eggplant was spicy and delicious according to one of my dining partners. Chinese tea was light and complimented the meal.
It's been years since we've been to this restaurant and it was every bit as good as it was then.
Well worth the distance we traveled.
Great food and location.. parking was so easy
Not sure how they do it but it's very very good in food and service every time we eat here. Keep up the great work. You are a rare restaurant.
