   Food was not worth the price. I had high expectations for this place after seeing tiktoks and Yelp reviews. We had an 8:30pm reservation and there wasn’t a table for us. We had to wait 15mins. I would not waste my money coming back here.

   The waiter took our order, and we were served 4 of the 7 dishes. We had to ask him 3x where the food was, and he kept saying it was coming. After 15 minutes, we cancelled the remining dishes and left.

    i come for the wingys (best in LA, easily) but stay for everything else which, saying this with my chest, never disappoints! Last night it was a pork belly and kimchi skewer….slapped, but you already know that. typically not a dessert person but ALWAYS make sure to get the rice crispy treat because it’s perfect. the pea shoots make me feel like health and wellness and the vibe passes the test. oh and the staff is always super nice.

    I dined last night and I'm already making plans to dine here again next week. I ordered the avocado and pear salad, congee pot pie, caesar salad, biscuits and gravy and the wings. EVERYTHING was exceptional. The dishes were coursed out perfectly and the service was specific and felt personal, but not overwhelming. I didn't have room for dessert, but I took a brown butter treat to enjoy later and it was delectable. This restaurant is a MUST try.

    Best restaurant in LA! Food and service were incredible! This place is beyond impressive! The chefs are so brilliant and finally a restaurant this is casual, comfortable and cool with world class approachable food that you want to eat weekly! The new carrot dish and Caesar salad are off the charts delicious!

    Yangban is SO GOOD. Great energy, amazing food, phenomenal service! Oysters were out of sight. Don’t skip the acorn noodles. Chef Kat’s B&G was spot on. The FAMOUS chicken wings. All hits, no misses.

    Definitely go here, but only on occasion. Food quality is great. Service is great. I am disappointed in the portion and can't justify the price. Food is inventive, rich, and memorable. I didn't find much I didn't like about the food or the service. But the portion for the price tag is borderline shocking. For a $30 plate, you get a smaller-than-kid-size portion, and the entree prices easily go into sushi or steak territory, and I don't think they should be in the same category. It's 'commoner food' reinvented well, but the price tag feels disproportionate. However, the food is very fresh and inventive with tastes that will leave you wanting to return.

    Wanted to love it but not my favorite meal. I know this will be an unpopular opinion, but I was left with an impression of too many ideas in certain dishes which had this strange effect of flavors and textures cancelling one another out. (i.e. the acorn noodles kind of just tasted like salt and I felt were missing a texture to cut through the onslaught of noodles and the gravy dish reminded me of what happens when I reheat a few different leftovers the next day on one plate). The highlight of the meal of the Sea Bream, which was excellent, perfectly grilled and redeemed the entire meal. Service was friendly and personable. Felt the cost of the meal was high for the dining experience. All this said, I am rooting for this place and would give it another try.

    Had an incredible experience at Yangban last night!! We wanted to order everything off the menu since it all sounded delicious. And we just about did end up getting most of it. From gracious and attentive service to the inventive and flavorful food and pre-made cocktails, this would be my go-to hangout if I lived in LA. But alas, I will have to wait til my next trip from Norcal.

    Had us wait almost an hour past our reservation time for our Valentine dinner. Food was disappointing. Valentine pre fixe menu was uninspired. The tostada and congee were good. The sea bream and fried chicken were decent. But the steak, salad, oysters, dried carrot were not good. The server was pushy and the overall staff, very amateurish. I have no idea why this place is a semifinalist for James Beard's new restaurant award. For $300, the food and service really should have been better.

    Valentine's Day Prix Fix was delicious. The food came out quick and hot. Everything was super tasty. So much fun shopping at their market. And seeing John Legend and Christy Tiegan come in and sit nearby was the cherry on top.

    Server did not check on us throughout the meal. We ordered two cocktails after being seated but never received them until after we had finished the majority of our first few courses. We ended up asking the food runner dropping off a course if they were coming. We would’ve ordered more drinks but the server never came by until it was time for the check. Food was delicious. Would’ve enjoyed everything more if the service was better.

    This is a review of the Valentine's day prix fixe menu. Food: Inconsistent. There were some dishes, like the supplementary wings and the fish that were great, while others such as the oyster, white fish tostada, and steak (+25) that were fine, and others such as the congee pot pie, carrots, and rice that were either bland or bad. Ambience: A major area of discomfort was that we were packed in side by side between tables with out elbows nearly touching, and we couldn't help but listen to each others' conversations awkwardly. For a restaurant at this price point, they should space out tables so there is some semblance of privacy. Price: This is the kicker. The prix fixe menu was $85, which seems reasonable, but dishes that were included vs. supplemental didn't make much sense. Included: a bland rice pot pie was paired with a salad and no protein. The only included protein for the main was the fish, while the steak substitution was an extra $25... and ended up being tiny (maybe 4 ounces) and unseasoned. No dessert was included. The entire meal for two with a $54 bottle of wine, tax, health charge, and tip ended up being $376, which felt too much given the simplicity of the food and inexpensive ingredients. Service: The only thing that stood out was that our server was friendly and great.

    It’s a great space and the menu was very good. I wanted to order almost everything. I started to order then realized that I would receive a better value doing the family meal and adding on additional a La carte items that were of interests. Server highly discouraged me from doing so - stating that it would be too much food. Hindsight wise I take responsibility for listening to her advice. I should have gone with my original thoughts. I would have spent the same amount but would have left with a better perception of value and service than I did.
