Yanagi Sushi & Grill - Dublin
Food was tasty. Service a bit slow. Prices were higher than expected. Ambiance was ok but noise level very high.
The Sushi was too sweet and the fried calamari was rubbery, not well cooked. I even got a dirty plate, but I did not complained. I left with a sick stomach and bad moth taste. Promised not to be back again.
On the bright side, the waiter was nice.
Yanagi was my favorite place to go for sushi, been going there for over 10 years and recommended to family and friends. It was the best in town but this last time was a real disappointment which resulted in my Husband and I deciding that we need to find a new sushi place. The quality was awful, smaller rolls and the fish did not seem fresh. This is truly heartbreaking because we loved Yanagi, don’t know what happened. The same exact thing happened to our previous sushi place and it was due to a change in ownership/management that’s when we discovered Yanagi but now he need to find a better place.
Made a reservation. Showed up 10 minutes early but host tells us they don’t have a table for us. They just seated a large party so they can’t honor reservation. What is purpose of taking a reservation if they don’t plan on honoring it. Complete incompetence. Don’t waste your time here.
Good experience over all, specially the hibachi live cooking.
Decided to go for sushi since our movie plans didn’t pan out. So we hit Yanagi. Made a quick reservation and were on our way.we were seated quickly and ordered 3 rolls.Spicy Tuna, Lobster Roll, and Inichi Roll. They were delicious. However, fare warning the spicy tuna was very spicy so be careful but it was very good!!! Service was good and staff was very friendly. The free endamme to munch on while you wait is also good! They also have TV’s so watching the games won’t be missed. They also have hibachi and bento probably my favorite sushi spot.
Our favorite sushi restaurant! Always friendly. Always fresh. Love the Yanagi Boat! Good specials too.
Unfortunately, teppenyaki lunch pricing is excluded on holidays. But otherwise always a great dining experience at Yanagi, especially with the family. Our chefs are interactive and fun to watch.
Edgar, the Teppan Chef was very skilled and gave us a great performance. We were at a full table (9 people) he cooked seafood, chicken, steak and veggies all having different cooking times and masterfully provided an amazing meal.
I used to frequent here all the time. I went for good food and quick service. The last 3 times I’ve gone the speed of service has been terrible. Its taken over an hour to get rolls and one particular time I went as a party of 2 and a family of 7 that came in after us had a bulk of their dinner before we even got an appetizer. This use to be my go to place for sushi reasonably priced and quick service but now I’m not so sure.
Birthday. Good times.
I couldn't really give Yanagi a full positive review because I felt we were constantly rushed. This was a 40th Birthday Luncheon and we were there less than 1 hr and 1/2. Very disappointing in that regard.
Our teppanyaki chef was the BEST!
Our chef was fantastic!
9th Birthday party!
Great chef and service and delicious food!
Is nice to have wait staff and other server take care of me when my server was busy.
4 adults, 4 kids (4 - 9 YRs) had a great time with great food.
Our favorite spot for sushi! Delicious and fresh.
Birthday for my son.
Chef was very energetic and made it a fun experience
It was as expected good food and good service
I love everything about this place, the food, the plum wine, and the service. The young gentleman that cooked our food ,in front of us ,was extremely entertaining! I am definetaly going to come back again! It was a perfect experience! Yes! Perfect! And they say that there is no such thing as perfect! Thank you everyone who works here! You are all awesome!
Tried some different sushi. Found it to be very good. Friendly staff
Great for kids and our chef from Indonesia was awesome. He really went out of his way to make our kids happy and laugh.
Birthday party of 9 so fun get together. Only disappointment was service very slow and had to chase waiter or waitress a couple times for service. Because some ordered Sushi and some off the hibachi grill,
those who ordered Sushi were done before we even got started and then had to watch our food be prepared. It would have been nice to all eat at the same time. Otherwise, food was great, Hibachi Chef very good with fun personality.
Good! Enjoyed the food!
Good food reasonably priced wasn’t happy with the service. Lady was short and not as kind as she could have been. Not my normal experience with them. She said that right things but it seemed like she was uninterested/ bothered and didn’t have as much care as what I normally experience here. I would and will go back but it was an off night.
Maybe it just wasn't a great day at Yanagi. My friends and I went to Yanagi to have lunch. We were seated quickly and our waitress took our order in what seemed like a reasonable amount of time. Cool! So we wait. And wait. And wait. My friend and I ordered the sushi lunch combo and our plates came out first. We continued to wait for our other friends' plates to come, but nothing for about 15 minutes. We tried flagging down staff to ask for their food, but it was hard to get anyone's attention. When we got to asking our waitress if their food was ready, she went to the counter and immediately picked the dishes up. It's clear they had been ready for quite some time, but just didn't deliver them to our table. Overall the experience was OK, but if what we went through is a common occurrence, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
We had theDragon Roll it was very good and huge, also had the Sashimi Salad it was excellent. They have decent wine too.
I love this place.
The food was salty and not as good as other grills where they cook at the table.
Food tasted wonderful, chef was a blast and the service efficient! Very good!
I was with my 4 yo daughter and she loooved her chicken teriyaki meal!
Service was awful. We were seated at the teppanyaki table and the waiter didn’t come for close to ten minutes. Took our teppanyaki orders plus a spider roll. The teppanyaki chef came and he was entertaining!!! The food was bad either. We finished eating and our spider roll was never served. The check came and we were charged for the spider roll though. Not a super great experience for a birthday celebration.
Excellent choice of menu; prompt service and venue is very easy to find.
This is, by far, our favorite local teppanyaki place. The chefs are all so friendly and personable. The food is always good and you’ll always have leftovers for lunch tomorrow.
We came in to dine in the regular section of the restaurant. Service was pretty quick, but every server managed all the tables, so it wasn’t as personal as at other restaurants. We ordered sushi, katsudon, and gyoza. Surprisingly the sushi came out first, followed by gyoza, and the katsudon. The katsudon was well made and with a good ratio of rice to everything else, which my husband loved. The gyoza was okay, the same as what we could get at another sushi restaurant. I ordered 2 sushi rolls, and while they were pretty different, they both had one texture throughout the whole roll, which was kind of mushy. Not the best sushi considering how pricey it was. Maybe we’ll try the grill side next time.
Service was poor waitress never asked after initial order if we need drinks or anything else.
This is my favorite sushi restaurant! The food is always good and great customer service!
