Starting with “namuru” and “kimchi” Korean style steamed and pickeled vegetables, continuing with tongue, ribs and/or outside skirt, finishing with cold noodles or “pibimpab”korean style mixed rice .

I wish the Japanese Korean restaurant Yakiniku Toraji served red leaf lettuce when I ordered two $148.00 Toraji 2023 courses and one $98 Standard course. Koreans always eat red leaf lettuce with meat at home and at restaurant which they are served unlimited and for free. Over all, the courses contained too little meat, Kimchi, and others like appetizers and deserts. I felt the money I spent for the dinner (total $553 including tip and tax) was not worth it.

The quality and flavor of the meat were fantastic. We had reservations and waited 20 minutes before anyone came to the check in to even acknowledge us. We finally were sat and waited in a room unacknowledged without even water for another 20 minutes. I do not think I will go back. It was also very expensive for what you got.

Our meal was let down by a bbq that was not working well - the flame and heat were too low . Despite our complaints staff told us it was already on "maximum". I would suggest to management to check your equipment as there is no point serving top quality meats if your bbq set isn't functioning at optimal level.

Japanese Yakiniku restaurant (means Korean BBQ done by Japanese). The quality and variety of meats are impressive, from horumon(intestine) to A5 Wagyu beef. They are fresh and served with various kinds of sauces to go with or cater to your taste. They offer different courses ranging from $98/person to $198/person. However, I found the ala carte menu priced reasonable. Not only BBQ but also soups and rice menu have multiple choices. We were celebrating my son's birthday and they had an additional ice cream with a candle on top of it as a service. They also gave us vegetables with Japanese miso paste as a service. The beer glass is appropriately chilled and comes with an ice crust outside.

If you are looking for a place with a good services, I wouldn’t recommend this place….we sat there for about 20-min, got no water, and no one stopped by…..You need to help remove the table so they have room to place the food on their hands.

Excellent quality of meat! Compared to other so-called wagyu beef, this one is legit. We go for the premium wagye course and the Toraji course set. Next time we may order a la carte. Definitely coming back.

This was our second time coming here and we will definitely not be back. The food was great but experience was completely ruined by the terrible service. We got the premium Toraji course and there were big delays between when we received each cut to grill up ourselves. We were also not asked if wanted a refill on our drinks and had to ask to change our grill each time instead of the staff proactively changing it.

I’ve been here for more than 40 times I guess since opening. It is the best bbq place in Manhattan. Even my friend frequently visiting Japan said it should be even way above average in Japan. My Japanese chef friends all love going there. So trust me, it is really good and offers many comfort food. The staff remembers me when I visit and I feel so welcomed.
