Ya Yas Euro Bistro - Overland Park
Perhaps the whimsical is the name itself and what it conjures up. Yia Yia means grandmother. The restaurant is actually named after co-founder Paul Khoury’s own grandmother, who as the wife of an ambassador, traveled in many European countries gathering ideas for her own special recipes.
We are participants in Restaurant week! The only day RW menu will not be available is Sunday Brunch, come join us!

Food was very good
We always love Yaya's! Our meals were delicious as always. Our waiter, Dan, was fun and very helpful. We had a wonderful evening.
My husband and I ordered the flat bread pizza. Mine was the 5 meat and was average. My husband ordered the seafood and didn’t care for it. The dessert was the Valentine special. Cake was dry and red velvet tart was terrible. Worst dessert ever for a nice restaurant. We’ve gone to ya ya’s 6-7 times and this was definitely the worst experience. Ordered 1 drink, 2 flat breads, 1 dessert and coffee...$70 bucks... way too much for what we got.
Great server Adam- food was excellent!
We put on open table our daughter had an 18 th birthday we were celebrating and the hostess said happy board that was it. No cake or dessert for the occasion was offered by our server to make it special.
Ya Yas is one of my most favorite spots to dine! It is GREAT for Lunch or Dinner, Celebrations,
or just a causal evening out.
Our water was very helpful, the food was excellent & we all really enjoyed our Birthday celebration
Thanks for having us!!!
Wonderful menu and service. I was pleasantly surprised at the overall value.
Went to Yia Yia’s for my birthday dinner. It was great! Had the special of filet mignon with a couscous stuffed portobello mushroom. It was delicious! The staff is consistently attentive, kind and make you feel like you are truly appreciated. One of my favorite restaurants!
Consistently outstanding food and service.
The menu is lovely.
I’m vegan ... for me is gluten , dairy , soy & egg free & no canola oil!!!
because of health reasons.
I love to eat out but it is challenging to order With all these considerations.
I ordered the Greek salad & replaced cheese with beets.dressing on the side. It was delicious & fresh.
Not sure if dressing is made with canola oil.
It would be nice if restaurants could make a vinaigrette with EVO.
Great service. The food variety was perfect and so was the quality. The burnt ends were exceptional.
Always delicious and amazing service
We have dined here several times, and this time was not as good. Our waiter was distracted by the table next to us and we were very neglected. We ate our entire meal with our empty salad plates sitting in our table. I had the spaghetti carbonara and it was not very good - the consistency was just not appetizing. The gnocchi we had was wonderful. It was my sons birthday, and we told the waiter, but we did not receive his bday desert. It was pretty annoying overall.
This was my first time here. (And last) Did not keep the buffet well stocked. Were out of several items each time I went to the food line. For biscuits and gravy, did not have gravy for 45 min. WTF? Wait staff was excellent but whom ever plans the food was the worst! Will stick to Nick and Jakes from now on.
It was a very nice experience. The trout was wonderful. I appreciated the noise level being moderate. Great place for dining.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will be back. The haddock was terrific, nice and flaky. The angel hair pomadoro with shrimp is my husband's new favorite.
The happy hour bottle of wine and appetizer is a great idea and one we always get before our dinner.
Waiter was awful. Had to ask for manager to take order.
We love Ya Yas, the food has great flavor and seems fairly healthy. I'm so glad you put that califlower steak on the restaurant week menu because it enticed me to try something new. Now its one of my favorite things to order!
Excellent service as usual. Thank you for everything.
Wonderful quality. Lots of choices. Excellent hospitality. The bartender Adam was especially amazing and attentive with a smile!
The service was great. And the food was delicious. What else can I say? A very good experience. I'll be back.
Great night jist out for a sat night, food was delish salmon salad , gnocchi , great wine great service - requested a booth got it! Our server Larry was awesome and thankful for lee the manager!!
Requested a quiet table for my birthday and requested not to be seated by bar or kitchen., which is exactly where we were seated. The food was good, just not a place I would specifically go back to. The service was very good.
Wonderful fun atmosphere with excellent food. Highly recommend!
Terrific restaurant was very creative food options. Shrimp risotto was outstanding- I would go here again
Manager was excellent. Wait / servers very poor seemed confused about how to serve tables. Very disappointing
Ya Ya’s flavor, menu items, drinks and service are all top notch. The price however is something I struggle with. It’s a great place to eat but you will pay more here.
YaYas consistently delivers a great experience and even with the crowds during Restaurant Week it did not disappoint. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 had more to do with where we were seated - right at the stairs where servers are leaving the kitchen area and computer terminal. That made for a lot of constant foot traffic right next to us. I'm not sure if additional tables were added for Restaurant Week but it was also a bit cramped - the table for 4 would not have worked if there were more than 2 in our party.
The duck with polenta appetizer was fantastic - and good news it's a regular menu item. My salmon dish was wonderful and my husband's braised short rib was also excellent. They need to put the short rib back on the regular menu. Dessert was the perfect ending to our meal. The cheesecake was light and had great texture and flavor. The phyllo wrapped brownie with ice cream and crumbled Oreo was a chocolate lovers dream! Very rich but very tasty. When you cut into the phyllo wrap, the brownie oozes out in a hot semi-liquid form - which works nicely with the ice cream.
Sunday brunch is also definitely worth the trip here.
Food is always good. This happened to be restaurant week so very busy. We had great service. JT and Abby were our servers.
Loved that this restaurant was on Restaurant Week. The food was great, the waiter was very knowledgeable about wine selections, and the ambiance was good. My only negative was that our waiter took my food back to wrap it up to take home (and never returned with it, however, to my fault I didn't notice until we were all the way home), and my brother-in-law asked for his dessert to be boxed up to take home and the waiter also forgot that. We will be back though! On another note, the bar has amazing Happy Hour specials that we realized for the first time this night. :)
Awesome food & service. Hadn't been in years- definitely will be back soon!!
Service was great quick.
After trying many many restaurants throughput the city, my group of 5 has decided to make Ya Ya’s our permanent meeting place. The staff is very attentive, the food is delicious and we can sit and talk and never feel rushed.
Wonderful service and food. Enjoyed that we were not rushed and had lots of chit-chat time.
Only big negative was sitting at an intersection to the private/party room and the elevated noise level.
Will definitely return!!
We had a reservation at 1PM but due to restaurant week they were backed up. I didn’t have an issue with waiting but the hostess was quite rude-dismissive and rather snobby about not having our table on time. I asked her a couple of questions and she could not be bothered to turn around and speak to me face to face. She was so rude and didn’t offer even an insincere apology for the slow seating.
Once we were seated the service was much better. Our server was Abby (I think)-she was really lovely and helpful. appetizers were good but entrees were underwhelming and came out a bit cold. I think restaurant week was probably more than they can handle-whole restaurant seemed rushed and overwhelmed.
Will probably not go back.
It’s restaurant week, so it was pretty busy...but we weren’t sat until almost 30 minutes after our reservation time. But once seated, Summer took great care of us and the food was as delicious as it always is. This place has such a great vibe, always boasts an awesome playlist, and the food is divine. The gnocchi and Campo Lindo chicken are my favorite go-to dishes!
Ya-Ya’s is an excellent restaurant and is one of our favorites in Overland Park. The food is some of the best in town. Our entries were all excellent (the flank steak was amazing!) and the service was very good. The bar scene is energetic and always crowded. This is always a good choice when dining in Overland Park. Highly recommended and you will need a reservation.
Anniversary great experience will be back
Tried TaYas during restaurant week 2020. We loved everything about!
